Great way to climb up and see Lion Rock from a viewpoint if your on a tight budget. It takes approx 45 minutes to climb if you have good-average fitness. Costs 500 rupees. The majority of the climb is up steps however the last 10 minutes requires you to climb on your hands and knees. Climbed up at sunrise and it was very beautiful.

Nice view on the lion rock and the rest of the valley. Much cheaper (approx 3$ vs 30$) than lion rock, all honest guides will recommend this one. So save some money with almost same view and go to this one! Ps go in the morning around 5:45 to see sunrise (if there are no clouds)

We went there to catch the sunrise. The entrance fee was 1000 LKR. The hike to the top took approximately 30 minutes. It was mostly stairs and at the end you had to climb a little bit, but it was totally doable. We covered our knees and shoulders at the beginning because the entrance is located at a temple, but as soon as we passed it we wore shorts and tops which was fine! Parking is right in front of the entrance

You can see Sigiriya from the top of this hill. 1000 lkr entrance. Easy climb if you've done any kind of sport. Doesn't take two hours as the folder says, more like 20 min..

Worthy alternative to Sigiriya rock, entrance 5$ vs 30$ for Sigiriya, it takes 20 minutes to climb, bear in mind that to climb the last part you need to use arms, you’ll see stunning view on Sigiriya though.

You should go here instead of Sigiriya Lion Rock. $3 instead of $30, same (maybe even better) view. Easy hike up for max 30 minutes and enjoy the views!

1000 rupee per person, but you are paying for an unforgettable sunset. Loved every rupee

Enjoyed not only climbing up this mountain but also driving scooter around Sigiriya! Entrance is 1000LKR which is roughly 3USD (460JPY) and you will have a great adventure with much less tourists compared to Lion Rock. It took me around 20 mins to go up but depend on people as the last part of areas are full of locks but it's manageable! I'd be happy to go up climbing again at different time.

Strongly recommend to wear shoes with good grip. I missed to climb the last part because I was wearing thongs (many local people make it in thongs though)
