Unsafe and unfriendly I stayed here on 25th and 26th Aug 2017, with two other couples we booked three rooms at the first floor, while we were in the pool someone has entered our room and stolen money from my wallet worth of 200$, although the keys were with us by the poolside someone entered using the housekeeping key, when we complained they were trying to put the blame on us, I manged to speak to one of the owners and general manger regarding this matter but did not get any positive response, they don't have CCTV system or proper security system in the premises to see who enterd our rooms so if something worst than this happens even they don't have a way of tracking down who is entering guests rooms, I highly recommend not to take a risk and stay in this insecure place even local police won't be able to help you if something goes wrong.

This is a really wonderful oasis: calm, great service, best food ever and lovely ayurveda treatment - also, one can witness endangered species living in the area; the hotel works ecologically commendable as they avoid disposables

A beautiful serene boutique hotel located alongside the "Maadu Ganga" in Balapitiya, Sri Lanka, ideal for a romantic stay for a couple or a enjoyable getaway for a family. You cannot get enough of the scenic view of the river which you can experience on the pier. Very friendly staff and great food off their set menus. Your preference is considered and certain possible changes are made to the dishes without any fuss. Highly recommended!!! :-)

It's a good place to spent your vacation

We stayed for a long weekend at Sakuna Arana, and a superb hideout location from the hustle and bustle of the city. Upgraded to the main villa and it was incredible. Excellent facility with modern amenities and fixtures in the room. Very friendly staff and chef is an expert in local Sri Lankan Cuisine. I would recommend this place for couples, families and groups to have a relaxed time and fun.

One of the best places to relax around the river lake Madu. Ayurveda treatment center they operate assures a great service.

Peaceful relaxing atmosphere. Spacious rooms with an infinity pool overlooking the lake. Authentic and delicious Sri Lankan cuisine. Hospitable staff. Boat ride tours on the lake to the nearby Islands can be arranged for a reasonable price.
