Not a "terrible" hotel but does have some issues. With it costing $200+ per night I was expecting a "higher end" experience but it was actually *lower end* quality wise. Something i would expect from a motel 6 or Super 8 hotel. The guy who checked us in wasn't rude but certainly not friendly or welcoming at all. First thing you notice walking in is building is hot and humid. My guess is cheap owner minimizing costs and shutting AC off in common areas. The room was small and functional and acceptaly clean. Looked at pool and the room was dark. Called unfriendly front desk guy and asked if it was open. He said it was and someone probably forgot to turn lights on. Went down a little later to jump in the pool only to find it still dark. Was going to give the hot tub a try anyway only to find the water was cold. Didn't try the pool, water looked murky (maybe because of the lack of lighting). The nice lady at desk the next morning said the hot tub was broken and they were waiting for a part. Going through reviews however leads one to believe this is an ongoing issue. There was also an issue with a rocking toilet and the hot water isn't actually "hot" in your room. You can take a shower if you keep the water turned all the way to hot and ignore the slow drain backing water up around your ankles. Would not recommend this hotel.

Old, tired, fridge was broken and covered in mold. Smelled really bad. Mold in tub/shower unit and rust and gunk around moldings. No box of tissue. Just little details. But you can stay 20 minutes away in Kalamazoo or 30 minutes away in Jackson for newer hotels. Or the Courtyard in Kalamazoo. Only a two star because front desk was friendly. Wow Marriott should be ashamed.

Room is disgusting. Garbage throughout the room from last guest. Food in the fridge. Tape all over the walls and smoke detector. No vent cover on the bathroom vent and bugs coming out. Toilet tips so we had to diy a shim. Upon pulling back the blanket to go to bed, there was a pube on the sheets. Repulsive. The pool is out of order and looks like a swamp, which nobody told us about in advance when we could’ve switched hotels to one with a working pool. Managers don’t work on the weekends so we’re stuck here because nobody can make an adjustment the $500+ we paid to stay. Do not stay here, would be better off in a tent with a portable ac. Did enjoy time with family around Battle Creek though, so definitely check out the area sometime. Just don’t stay here.

What a great place to sleep when you are staying in Battle Creek or just passing through, as I was. This hotel is set in a quiet, beautiful and wooded neighbourhood just off the Interstate. It is clean! The staff is very friendly and helpful with answers to all of my questions. It is an easy and quick drive into downtown Battle Creek. And there are several gas stations in the area.

Rooms are small, toilet ran all night, tepid showers, broken whirlpool, pool frigid, noisy, room was cold AF even with the heat on, fire drill at 11:45pm, fire alarm chirping every 7 minutes and not front desks problem it's a maintenance issue.Front desk is totally unhelpful for moving rooms. Hi speed internet listed costs $4.95 / nite otherwise u get slow internet. Breakfast was thawed sandwiches and hard boiled eggs with god only knows how old saran wrapped bread, and juice. This was the worst stay I've ever had.

This is a beautiful hotel to stay in. Clean, nice, centally located to where I was. The staff was awesome. I stayed on a Tuesday night, and they helped me with my weekend stay also. I won't stay anywhere else. I

Nice clean room and hotel. The best!! breakfast with oatmeal, all breads wrapped in plastic wrap, eggs, sausage, chocolate and regular waffles (waffle maker) and more. Most important for me was the cleanliness of the hotel and the very comfortable bed. Minor issues were: one lamp didn't go on, one stain in corner of tub, cracked lampshade. Otherwise very nice room. Nice hot water. Needed more outlets. Could'nt charge my phone by the bed at night. No special USB charging outlets. Mini fridge had a ton of frost inside. Hot tub out of service at the time of my visit, which was a disappointment. Sink/vanity outside of toilet and tub area. Room was nice and cool upon entry. Close to highway, but did not interrupt sleep. Denny's within walking distance. The host was very nice. I would stay here again, but I hope the hot tub will work next time. EDIT ☹️: I had to call the hotel because they have a pending charge on my account of $160 when my receipt states charges of $132. They said it is for incidentals and will "fall off my account in a few days." It has been two days and I am still waiting. Why didn't they inform me of this when I checked in? EDIT: The pending charge stayed on my checking account for 5 days. I was then charged the correct amount after 7 days. Never had a hotel transaction in limbo for so long.

I stayed here two weeks in August 2022. Staff was friendly and rooms were clean. Breakfast was awesome. Location is good. But the dry goods store charges an arm and a leg for food. $5 for ramen!!! Incredulous.

Only reason for 4 stars was there was a smell in our room(like yogurt or cheesecake). Didn't go away even after three days. Some things in room were not cleaned either. Window was left open and a 90% drank diet coke on windsill. An old room key was on the floor next to the bed. Candy from a previous guest in dresser drawer. The staff was wonderful and breakfast was fully stocked and good.

Rooms are very dated, needs a total remake, not just patches. Vents all have dirt on them even in the pool area. Staff is great at fixing their mistakes. The staff is very friendly. I wish breakfast was till 10am. Awesome that check out is at noon!

Had some issues with my room keys not working and had to make multiple trips to the desk. Room was clean and comfortable. Desk workers were pleasant and helpful. My only complaint is that we went down for breakfast at 6:30. I was told by a lady setting up that we weren't allowed to eat until 7. I told her that we were in town for a softball tournament and had to be at the field by 7, and the rest of the team would be down shortly and expected to eat as well. She told us that new management had told her not to open until 7, but she allowed us to grab food as it was all set up. Not sure what was going on here. Seems like breakfast should be set up and ready by 6 in a hotel in case you have early risers. Part if the reason we chose this location was the free breakfast.

First off the only reason it is a four star is because a girl yelled at us kids to stop running. What do you expect were kids. But then a girl at night shift named raelynn was super nice and she deserves to be manager. She let us talk to her and was really nice with helping my friends with the tv which she fixed. So please give raelynn the promotion or raise she deserves. And the other girl tried to blame us for running when it was soccer kids. She had reddish orange ish hair. Please tell her let kids be kids.

Decent clean hotel, staff was friendly, but room didn't get cleaned on the schedule they said it would. Breakfasts are different then the normal chains which I appreciate. Hopefully you like keesh for breakfast. Overall it did what it had to.

Lots of parking, quick and easy check in. Pleasant front desk staff. The most important thing for us is always a good night sleep, we slept in, place was very quiet and the room was clean and smelled good. Bed was comfortable. We like the breakfast- they had quiche other baked goods like muffins, bread and bagels.

Stayed at this hotel because it was close to a relatives wedding venue the room was subpar the service was great from the employees not from the management the pool was awful old crumbling disgusting the room had no AC the bathroom was very old rotted metal and drywall and fungus smell for the cost of these hotel rooms these days the room really should have been much nicer all the other fairfields that I've been in were great this one definitely needs some money put into it

Room smelled like smoke. Shower water backed up, then when drained had hair near drain that wasn’t mine. Breakfast was supposed to be until 9:30. I showed up at 9, EVERYTHING was empty. I waited around. Then a group of teenagers showed up and complained. They got in a shouting match with someone in “kitchen”, then teenagers left. Guy in “kitchen”, started clearing all pans and baskets on breakfast counter. I said something to front desk, 3 people were just standing around. Then they finally put out two scoop of eggs, eight guest rushed to get them. Then an employee left the kitchen carrying a huge plate of eggs for themself. I went to Cracker Barrel.

Very clean rooms. Awesome pool and hot tub. The lobby was very relaxing. Although I didn’t partake, the included breakfast looked amazing and had so many options. I had checked into a competitor (similar price point) that I booked online. The lobby and common areas were dirty. The room was dated, had several rips in the carpet, and had a funky smell, and to top it off, the pool area was closed for “usual repair and maintenance”. I look out the window and saw “Fairfield”. I looked up the number and called. Mark saved the day. He gave me a great rate for my room and allowed us to apply my military discount for two additional rooms for my extended family traveling with us. We moved next door and we were checked in and sitting in the hot tub 15 minutes later. Thank you Mark and Fairfield!

No complaints, everything is very new and well maintained. A nice breakfast setup and a good pool area. Rooms even have Netflix and Youtube.

I would not recommend staying here!!!! Location is good but that’s all…. Thin walls you hear EVERYTHING included a hotel staff worker Katie using the room next to us partying it up with friends and little 2 or 3 year old child who was yelling & screaming profanities and laughing as the child repeated it!!!!!! The nighttime front staff desk clerk took care of it quickly but just unacceptable… The room was dirty & the bathroom ceiling was covered in mold….I would look for another to stay at in Battle Creek!!!!

The room was very clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. We booked a room next door and it was a dump. The staff of the Fairfield helped us out to get us a great place to stay.

The handicapped room was clean and large enough for my mom's walker. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was decent, with a fairly good selection. Pool was not great. None of the lights were on in the pool or whirlpool and the pool area was not brightly lit. Pool appeared dirty and sandy or discoloured. There are handicapped lifts for both the pool and whirlpool, but the steps into both are VERY tall/steep.
