It's one of the oldest mosque in Malacca. The design has the influence of local Malay and sumatran. This mosque located just across the famous jonker street.

Visited in Feb before the MCO. The Kampung Hulu Mosque is a mosque at the northern end of the Heritage City of Malacca. It’s the oldest mosque in Malacca, but I would never have guessed that’s what it was from the architectural style of the building. The architecture is very much south-east Asian and even the free standing minaret owes more to Asian influences than Arab or even Indo-Islamic styles most prevalent for mosques. Even the minbar shows clear SE Asia influence predominating. Most a must-see, but interesting for the unusual design for a mosque.

Magnificent and historical mosque. It was built on 1728AD and is the oldest mosque in Malaysia and still being used and preserved by the state government. It has very long and unique history value since the occupation of Dutch colonial in 1624AD. At the side of the mosque, the is a maqam Al Sayyed Abdullah Al Hadad, a pious religious teacher and also a saint (waliyallah). Although the surrounding of the mosque had been renovated and raised with a new building; the authenticity of the mosque is well preserved for later generation.

Very historic place and building. Beautiful architecture inside and outside of the mosque. There's a "kolah" for men to take ablutions. Really love the place. Not to forget to mention, lots of parking area around the mosque.

Another old mosque in Malaysia, the Kampung Hulu mosque was built around 1720 - 1728 BCE. A Javanese inspired architecture the surrounding is historical as some Islamic scholars and missionaries are buried at the cemetery beside the mosque. Like other Islamic places of worship there are clothing requirement, the mosque provides appropriate clothing to those that doesn't have is available. A place worth visiting to pray and to soak up history. #RP

The oldest masjid in Melaka and the third in Malaysia. Located in Bandar Melaka. Praying inside the mosque feels like you are back in the old days. Beside the mosque, there are old cemeteries. It was told that the syeikh was the one who initiated the mosque. The syeikh was buried at the mosque moseleum.

Beautiful mosque with good cleanliness. Access to mosque is a bit challenging during peak hours as the roads are small with lots of traffic. But the mosque itself is very nice. Old school but very comfortable to be in.

I recently visited the third oldest mosque in Malaysia, and the second oldest mosque in Melaka. The oldest mosque in Melaka is Masjid Peringgit. Many people come to this mosque to make donations and fulfill their religious obligations. Additionally, there were also visitors who came to collect water from the mosque for healing purposes. The architecture of this mosque is similar to that of Masjid Tengkera, it is well-preserved by the state government and serves as a tourist attraction. However, recent checks by the Islamic authority revealed that the mosque's direction is not exactly towards the Kaaba in Mecca, and corrections will be made by the Melaka Islamic authority. The surrounding area of the mosque is clean and easy to access, which makes it a great place to perform prayers. Overall, I found my visit to this mosque to be a positive experience and would recommend it to others interested in visiting historical landmarks in Melaka

A nice mosque in the old part of Malacca. The mosque is an example of vernacular Malay architecture, and is a nice bit of history in the old city. The mosque is a nice place to visit during a short stay in Malacca, and is close to other religious structures that show the religious diversity in Malaysia.

It's a very old mosque & well preserved. It was clean but there was water problem. We had to get the water with pail from the big kolah, which they used for ablution

First, expect to pay your parking if you come here to pay. You can ask for the shops nearby to get a coupon. The mosque is an old one. It still preserves its design, ablution area. But I am a bit disappointed by the attitude of the travellers. I feel like the locals have to deal with all kinds of attitudes from travellers everyday. Hope this place continues to be preserved and appreciated.
