The ticket for this railway track is 33 Eur (up and down) if you have Bayern Ticket or Gutentag ticket. Otherwise it is 40. Train is quite interesting and you can feel the climb inside it. There are many people coming here by car so the train was quite full. We travelled via regional train until Brannenburg and from there we took the private bus. The bus ride costs 1.5 eur as this is a private but and not from DB. Few pics uploaded so that you can feel what you are going to experience.

Nice rack railway with good views along the journey. The experience is just as good as some more famous (and pricier) rides in Switzerland. Highly recommended. Also: good walking trails, longer or shorter, downhill (or uphill if you like) from the summit station. The walk from the Brannenburg railway station to the rack railway station took me just some 25 minutes.

Easygoing -> easy driving onto the Wendelstein. 25 minutes ride with incredible scenery. Do it if you can, wear mountain shoes and walk to the peak. Not too hard.!

This train is a good option for those who has phisical problem and cannot go to Wendelstein by walk. Wendelstein is so beautiful! The train is not cheap. But worth it. (Especially if you know how it was built.)

Great experience, especially if you travel with children. Just be prepared to pay 36 Euros per adult.

Excellent trip for train and mountain lovers. The view during the train ride is spectacular. At the top of the Wendelstein mountain the view is even more spectacular!

Great place, the weather is really colder (dont forget to get your jackets and gloves even if it feels like a hot day) Nice place for skying and enjoying the quality attractive scene at the top of the mountain The view is spectacular indeed But on the other hand it. Was really costly For 4 people we paid 140 € and it was not a fancy train that took 20 minutes to reach the top of the mountain Also the last train going to thee top was at 14:00 and the last return was at 16:00. Further more the restaurant at the top had few things in the menu. But we had loads of fun that day so it is a good place after all Some areas are slippery so get an appropriate shoes with you 😅

Beautiful Wendelstein and its Railway. It's worth the money. A faster alternative to reach the top of the Wendelstein is the cable car. But the 30 minutes ride in the rack railway spectacular!

Lovely view from the top, you can see for what seems like hundreds of miles! The café at the top is also very nice.

Nice journey up. Good views at the top and you can climb a bit further on syeps/path with a handrail. The Panoramaweg (no handrail) is a good circular path at the top. About 30 mins to an hour. Safe but need at least trainers, walking shoes better. Summit a good few degrees cooler than down below, and can be breezy.

Great experience! But very expensive imho. Not every family will be prepared to pay almost 100€ round trip...

Seems a bit $$, but after your done the train rides and sight seeing. Down the caves and up to the look out area, the memories will never leave. Even a cloudy day is a good day.
