During winter this lake is completely frozen and is an amazing place to jump in the knee deep snow. And during summer you can take a walk around the lake. It’s around 1 hours some mins drive from Munich. There is ample parking available. Many hiking ways available in the summer months. For winter I highly recommend proper hiking shoes if you are coming here.

Schöner See inmitten der Berge. Herrlicher Ort, Sommer wie Winter, zum entspannen, für div. Sportarten und Wandern. Eine Runde Tretboot im Sommer, danach eine Runde (4 km) um den See. Noch einen guten Kaffee oder ein Getränk, genauso kann hier oben ein schöner Tag verlaufen. Das Wasser ist sehr kalt also nur im Sommer zu empfehlen. Im Winter gibt's hier auch einen Skiverlei. Parkplätze gibt es einige in der Umgebung. Es ist meist von Touristen überlaufen. Am besten hier außerhalb der Ferien unter der Woche mal vorbei schauen. Ist auf jeden Fall schon wegen der Aussicht eine Reise wert.

Beautiful Bavarian mountain lake. Not easy to get parking space up there in nice summer days. And can be crowded then. But it’s super nice to have a walk around the lake - or get on it when it’s frozen in winter. There are also some nice restaurants and cafes around to enjoy a good break.

Ein schöner Bergsee auf über 1000 Meter Höhe 😊 idyllisch gelegen zwischen den Bergketten ☺️ zu jeder Jahreszeit ein Ausflug wert 👍 Zahlreiche Parkplätze und sehr gute Restaurants und Hotels vorhanden ☺️

Schöne Farben, toller Rundweg. Nette Einkehrmöglichkeiten. Beeindruckendes Panorama. Viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten zum Wandern, biken.

Schöner Rundweg (~6,5 km). Einkehrmöglichkeiten nur am Ort - außer RixnerAlm. Möglichst früh anreisen - Staugefahr und wenige Parkplätze.

Sehr schöner See, eingebettet zwischen den Bergen. Es führt ein gut begehbarer Weg um den See

Da ich vor sehr vielen Jahren eine wunderschöne Klassenfahrt nach Spitzingsee erleben durfte, habe ich bei der Vorbeifahrt auf der Autobahn die Gelegenheit für einen Abstecher nach Spitzingsee genutzt. Ich war restlos enttäuscht. So trostlos und veraltet hatte ich das nicht in Erinnerung. Nichts, aber auch gar nichts erinnerte an das schöne Ort von damals. Und das lag nicht am trostlosen Wetter für das keiner was kann. Schade, aber ich denke ich hätte das lassen sollen.

...Ja, der Spitzing, für alle etwas dabei! Sommer, wie Winter - Du darfst Dich hier ausleben. Egal ob eine Bergtour, wandern in der Valepp, Mountaincart fahren auf dem Stümpflin, oder Ski Touren im Winter! Paradies für Outdoor -Begeisterte.

Very fascinating among mountains, along the lake

Loved the view. The scenery is spectacular. The cows made it finer and the sea is peaceful. The quietest of the 3 neighbouring lakes. Definitely will go again

Nice walk around the frozen lake. Watch out your steps, the surface is super slippery!!

Such a wonderful view. We took the cable car and walked down through the trees. If you see the red Wellness bus this will take you on a very scenic route, the driver spoke English, and told us about the area. Really had a wonderful time.

This is a gorgeous place to be. Small but beautiful lake.. Great trail paths around the lake. Can do boating, can hike and trekk.

Amazing serene view

First we had a walk in the south of the lake and went around a mountain (about 1 or two hours). Our kids enjoyed walking around. We crossed a playground next to the Albert-Link Hütte. Great place for having a „Brotzeit“. Later we walked around the lake (1 1/2 hour). Our kids were tired afterwards but happy because at the north-east side before the campingsite the older one could have a bath in the lake. Disadvantage: the ground consists of stones and soon it’s getting deeper next to the shore. Tip: don’t stay at the tourist place. Search you own place and enjoy the walk or swim. Great nature!
