Very mediocre hotel, infested with a certain insect or something. Very rude staff who accuses guests of over eating their “all can eat” breakfast buffet. You stay here if you want bad customer service or to occasionally see insect or two in your room. It’s just not right. No one should go through this as a paying guest at a supposedly brand name hotel. I may post reviews to other websites of my family experience here. We honestly thought this hotel stay was going to be good but we were very wrong. ☹️ Housekeeping was fairly respectful. That’s the only good thing I can think of. Edit: I may add more on to this review. Update 1 : I am responding back to the reply staff left, all I can say is that we have nothing to hide and that the breakfast issue they were speaking of my sister couldn’t carry all the items up at once as her arms were in much pain. The extra breakfast were family that couldn’t come down due to medical circumstances, etc. As for the insect issue we did see one insect in the kitchen area, maybe from a past guest or due to the lack of how things are done here. Now as for whoever is paying for our hotel is completely disrespectful & personal, that should have not been mentioned as we talk with them directly, that’s a privacy issue. I hope you all can be mature about this and come to a solution. Update 2: This is proof of the insects or roaches in our particular room, me and my family is very angry to discover this. Proof is in the video. Nothing else to say.

So I’m one of the guest staying at this hotel and my family member just made a review I find it very unprofessional how they dismissed and accused him of making up the insect problem and blamed it on them, Basically implying that the reason we saw roaches was because of us having food which is a lie we kept our room very clean throughout our stay and the fact the owner invalidated him, didn’t even apologize and redirected the blame on him. “Who’s ACTUALLY PAYING for your room” is crazy it’s very very disrespectful, disgusting, back handed, and unprofessional you should never discuss personal information of your guest. How we pay for the room should not matter when we come into a hotel we expect good professional service. You guys claim we took too much food from the breakfast buffet but never expressed or implied that there was a limit if you guys do not want guest taking much food put up a sign or at least let them know!!!! Not have a big woman hovering over my family while there trying to get breakfast in peace that is very threatening and telling them off as if they knew there was a limit to how much food they can take VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.. and mind you the food we got from the buffet was not all for ourselves we have 2 elderly parents that wasn’t able to come down to breakfast. There was no signs or warnings that every person can only physically grab 1 plate! The way you people came at us was unacceptable! With FOUL attitudes. No respect was given and we felt very threatened, invalidated, stereotyped, scared for our lives, and discriminated against. The staff was very rude ever since we checked in. I HAVE AN IMMUNE DEFICIENCY I AM ALLERGIC TO ROACHES MY HEALTH IS AT RISK HERE WE OPENED THE DISHWASHER TO FIND HUNDREDS OF ROACHES I AM VERY TEMPTED TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION AND WE RISK TAKING THIS BACK HOME THERE IS ALSO MOLDED CABINETS I AM VERY ALLERGIC TO l MOLD

Got ready for bed around 11pm, the mattress, covers, and pillows wet. Had to move. We had unpacked for a three day stay. Had to gather up and move to another room. Got settled around midnight. No help from the staff other than bringing the cart. We were put in a studio, I usually get a 1BR suite. Checked my reservation, I did reserve a suite. They "upgraded " us to a suite after all of that.

Unlike most Residence Inn I've stayed in, the attitude and convenience were not provided at this Residence Inn. Everyone goes through hard times, and you never know what angels you are entertaining to receive your next blessings. I was talked down to so arrogantly by the assistant GM and head GM, almost made me feel like I was in slavery days. Another customer who witnessed addressed me when walking back to my room which shows unprofessionalism and embarrassment. Dealing with issue, no one could provide me a written policy statement to back up what was implied. Very disappointed in this past stay as I am a longtime rewards member. Customer service is key. It's not what you say but HOW you say it!

Like others said, the rooms need some updates .... basic things like the shower door sliding easily ..... and speaking of the shower, whoever put the grab bar in the shower didn't think about its location when showering. As for service: I met one staff person who was VERY helpful and polite, I met 2 ladies at the front desk and both of them were rude and obnoxious and for housekeeping: what they did was very "limited". The grounds were dirty and things like smears on the elevator walls were there all week. it was a bed for the week and it was certainly not homey and welcoming. I doubt I will be back. Updated review: Bravo RI Mgnt, your reply is the same info provided at check=in, the point is, your policy and your practice are not the same.

The rooms are great. I had a suite with a separate bedroom, which is nice if you actually make use of the kitchen. Breakfast, unfortunately, can hardly be called that way, it consist of some undefined egg product and some kind of sausage. Before covid, they used to have nice social meetings in the afternoons, but they never returned to those. It's all about the rooms here and there are plenty of options to get food in the vicinity, that's why I choose the hotel.

Floors in bathroom and kitchen were extremely sticky. My shoes stuck to them like being in a movie theater. The hairs on the bathroom floor, in shower, and bathroom counter grossed me out. Breakfast was the thinnest bacon I had ever seen with powdered eggs. If you’re looking for the included beer, wine, and snacks like they used to have, better go with the Embassy Suites down the road. Wish someone gave me that advice before I stayed here. I used to only stay at Hilton properties and I can’t believe I gave this place a try! Also yes, I reached out for help and the manager that responded apologized and called it a day.

This hotel is absolutely excellent. It’s basically apartments one bedroom and two bedroom with a kitchen and a living room in one and a pull-out sofa bed with two bedrooms ensuite and you can rent a one bedroom apartment. Also if you’re on your own discount if you’re with the Cleveland hospital, apparently this hotel was built for people that are recovering from surgeries of all kinds and the staff. There are really really genuinely lovely people. There’s one lady her name is Lisa and she is a Christian. I say she must be 60 years old but she done everything for me when I wasn’t well even I had blood on the pillow, and I wanted to pay for it, and they said where are used to that because of all the hospitals use us so they came and change my pillows and my bed clothes and they are just amazing people, the service is outstanding in my opinion.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫🇺🇸🤩✨

The residence Inn was a hard one for me, because it was not terrible it’s just the situation I had to deal with. I was placed in a one bedroom King Suite with a fireplace (gas). The room was a bit dated, but nonetheless it was okay. The bathroom was one of those where the floor has a bit of a stubble feeling, so you won’t slip.Yet the grime build up would happen almost instantly, and it’s not like I would be outside playing all day and come in disgusting. So I had to clean it on my own. The bed was comfy. There were two televisions in my suite, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. Now I have two pain points for this room (411). The refrigerator made this weird loud buzzing sound when the compressor would kick on and man was it annoying. At one point I unplugged the refrigerator. I did get the chief engineer to come take a look and he realized it was a defect from the manufacturer and he did the best he could to fix it but eventually said we will need to replace the part. Also the A/c didn’t work at all, not the fan or A/c and it’s pretty cold I. Ohio nowadays but I’d like to keep my room a cool 65-70 degrees Fahrenheit for sleeping and during the day 75-78 degrees Fahrenheit. I actually will be calling about this to Marriott because I would like to get some sort of compensation for this, and it would have been a lot to have to move to another room after I settled.

Staff at front desk and breakfast was great. Period. The hotel and room felt like falling apart. The furniture is old, cabinets and sofa bed squeaky. AC old. Noticed wall paper coming off in the room and at several places hotel. Old smell. To my knowledge only a single elevator for the entire hotel. Not up to Marriott brand value compared to my other stays with this brand and the price charged. Regrets.

First of all I never write poor reviews because I understand that there are two sides to every story. This is the exception. I was charged about $350 because I was accused of smoking in the room. I didn’t! When I got to the room it smelled of smoke but I didn’t want to make a fuss so I put up with it. Well, they’ve taken advantage of my kindness and have charged me an outrageous fee for something I didn’t do. The front desk wouldn’t even hear me out, they just accused me and took my money. If that’s how they want to do business fine. But I will never do business with them again and I don’t recommend that you do either.

This place was great. I have stayed at others places for longer and staff couldn't remember your name. Only here a short time and they made a point to get to know you. The staff is incredible in so many ways and very accommodating. The rooms themselves can use a little maintenance. Mine smelled musty, the door frame was bent and needs to be replaced. Toilet leaked a little bit. Overall I would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at a local Residence Inn in Beachwood, Ohio for two days and checked out early. I was disappointed that certain things didn't work and the issue wasn't addressed. None of the table lamps worked. The desk power strip didn't work either. The bedside lights didn't work. The only working lights in the suite were in the bathroom and the one above the table. I was able to plug in my electronics to the wall outlet across but should have been able to use the strip. The snow wasn't shoveled so had to do this myself. So much for staying at the Residence Inn. Reported the lights issue to the lady at the front desk to which she replied that someone will come to check it. This however never happened. This is the reason that I decided to check out early. What's the point of paying the price and not getting the amenities? Had I known this at the time of booking, would have never stayed at the Residence Inn. A lesson learned: will never stay at a Marriott hotel ever again. I was unable to post this on the Marriott Onvoy website as the name Residence Inn by Marriott Cleveland Beachwood wasn’t recognized on the website. So am posting here.

Just visited here and Janet was the sweetest employee. She made my family feel so welcomed and even remembered what we told her we were doing the day prior. This woman deserves a raise!

My daughters booked a room for their dad's birthday. The room was nice and quiet. I liked where the room was located. I liked the convenience of having a full stove, refrigerator, sink w/garbage disposal and dishwasher. They had nice breakfast in the morning as well. Will return.

Check in was very easy and all the staff members were helpful and friendly. Room was clean and no problems. Everything was expected or better. Would stay again.

The entire hotel has this dark, eerie feeling. The customer service was excellent, but the room was not as excepted. The door would stick to the floor when opening, so it would not close automatically. The floors In the room had dips by the bed, so I lost balance when I got out the bed.

This place met my expectations and beyond. The rooms were beautiful, updated and very clean. The kitchenette exceeded my expectations as well. The appliances were clean and new. I didn’t expect the cabinets to contain dishes, cooking and eating utensils. I just really felt at home during my stay. The housekeepers were diligent, nice, and friendly. Checking in/out was super quick and easy. The front desk staff is always nice and friendly, especially Venus, she’s awesome. I loved that they are pet-friendly! I brought my small Shih Tzu with me and the room was big enough for him to run around in and have his play pen. Breakfast was nice every morning, my ONLY complaint is that they ONLY serve pork products every morning, like pork sausage or bacon. The bacon was always these paper thin slices that crumbled when you picked them up. I travel for work, so I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels. I stayed in a holiday inn that served both pork and turkey sausage every morning. It might be good to look into purchasing a small amount of turkey sausage to serve for dietary reasons. It’s 2023, people care more about what they put in their bodies. Overall, this establishment was great for that at home feel and had great customer service.

Stayed at the Residence Inn from 7/25 - 7/28 while on our trip to Cleveland. Due to a flight delay we arrived at the hotel around midnight. My husband immediately started to get his clothes ready for an early meeting when he noticed stains on the iron. I called the front desk and this wonderful lady working the night shift brought us a new iron in the middle of the night. This is literally the definition of above and beyond when it comes to service in my book. The room itself was spacious and clean. The breakfast had a good variety of items that ranged from scrambled eggs, warm sandwiches, fruit, pastry to cereal. The only thing that would've made our stay better are extended breakfast times, 9 am seems to be a bit early as a cut off time for breakfast for people in vacation. But all in all we had a wonderful stay!

I stay here when I am fly in for work. Their rooms are clean, their beds are comfortable, and it's free breakfast every morning. The staff is amazing!!! If I ever come to Cleveland to visit there will be no doubt in my mind, I'm staying here. My coworker and I even made a snowman and one of the staff was nice enough to take pics for us.

Very weird facility. Nice enough rooms but it feels like it might be an old hospital ward or maybe an apartment complex that has been converted to a hotel. Tremendously friendly staff though and excellent service. Update: have stayed here three times now and doubt I will stay again. Twice put in the same room with lights that don’t work by the bed. If you want to read in bed in room 338, you need to leave the bathroom light on. Not a deal killer but kind of annoying that in the last month they still haven’t fixed the issue despite being notified. I also stand corrected on the building being an old dorm or the like. Still think the configuration is a little weird and the main entrance feels like the smallest main entrance door they could find. Again, staff here is still really friendly. Just perhaps not particularly efficient.

Me and my daughter came from St. Louis to attend a funeral in Cleveland. We rented a suite. My daughter told them I didn't like elevators. 😒 At most hotels/motels you take what they give you. Well the woman at the front desk got us a room on the first floor close to the entrance. The staff there were VERY FRIENDLY. As we were leaving to visit family, we ran into another staff member. She stated that she was the cook. Her name was Lisa (Hey Lisa). She had the most pleasing personality. Actually the whole staff was just fantastic. The pool area was great. Even had a lil chill area. We really enjoyed our stay there. I would highly recommend staying there. To the staff: Loved 😍 you guys. Take care and hope to see you again.

Spent a weekend recently there with a hockey team. The staff was great and more than accommodating, not to mention patient with the young players. Rooms were nice, had an unexpected room service that refreshed the room. Great to see that coming back! Plenty to eat in the area, but be prepared to drive (watch for the northbound exit, you can only turn eastbound).

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The building is beat up and in need of repairs. We had a suite with a fireplace. Maintenance was required to light the fireplace. After several minutes he was able to get it lit 5 minutes after he left it went out. The mirrors are so bad the gilt on the back is peeling off. The entire building only has one elevator. The breakfast was cheap and did not taste very well.

I just completed an 11 night stay here and it was a great experience. I really enjoyed the hotel and the front desk staff were the among the best I’ve interacted with. Facilities: I thought the hotel was in great condition. Yea stayed in the 1BR suite with a fireplace. I could not figure out how to get the fireplace to work, but never asked for assistance so there is a 98% chance it was user error. The laundry soon was a bit of a walk, but for $1/wash and $1/dry (took 2 runs for my clothes to dry though) I would have walked farther. The pool was not open since it was late April, but the area looked great. Staff: The main 2 front desk staff I interacted with were absolutely amazing. Extremely polite and accommodating. I mentioned on check in that I had another room booked for a the weekend so family could visit. They were able to immediately block the room next to mine, which was extremely helpful. Housekeeping was available every 2 days, but available upon request. I needed towels during my stay and made the request in the all, they were brought up almost immediately. Bonvoy Benefits: Upon check in my status was acknowledged (there was a bell involved haha). I was also given an upgrade without asking, which is pretty rare for an 11 night stay. The one concern I have is that when I requested a late checkout a few days after check in (the late checkout was not asked at check in so I forgot) the front desk staff member mentioned how full they were and that it might be a problem. She eventually agreed to it after she looked into the system. The concern here is that this is a guaranteed benefit and, at a Residence Inn, not based on availability so there should not have been any kind of issue noting it. It was a great stay and I would definitely stay here again.

Alisa at the front desk is very caring and welcoming. Very clean accommodations and convenient to Cleveland clinic Beachwood, Cole eye institute. They're only concern is you having a restful stay. Breakfast was great too in the morning! Will be back.

I was there in Ohio for surgery. I had to stay 10 days to recover and have my post op appointment. The hotel itself has great staff! Great if your coming for a few days. Nice pool area. However as far a comfort to recover from a surgery, no place to be comfortable. Beds are hard couches are dated and are pull out beds that you can feel. No place to sit and rest. I was told I would have to rent a chair from Rent a Center. Would not recommend to recover for long periods of time. Other then that the staff is great.

  • 3/5 Janice P. 1 year ago on Google
Pros: Every staff member was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was always stocked and adequate.great location. CONS: dirty room, stained, peeling walls. Loud people running all hours of the night. Front desk said they can't do anything. There's only like two luggage carts around and they are never available so we had to make like 15 trips up and down with the slow elevator. Will not be staying again.
