Arriving at Blue Bay multiple people tried to sell glassbottomboat tours. It is very sad that nowadays there is still a lot of advertising for the glassbottomboat tours at hotels and in tourist guides. The corals are dead and there are just a few fishes swimming around. We were unfortunately not aware of this. The glass boat tour with the diesel engine doesn't make it any more environmentally friendly either. Also, the planes landing at the airport are not far from the Blue Bay Marine Port. The corals should be left alone and hopefully they recover one day. We were and still are very shocked by our impressions. However, it is worth taking a look at the ocean.

We had done several snorkelling trips on the island and nothing came close to being as beautiful as this one. We hired a boat for 1000 Rupees (for 2 ppl) for 1h at the dock and the guy showed us different corals and fish which were amazing! The snorkelling was the cherry on top where we enjoyed swimming around this untoched beauty. Must see for anyone visiting the island!

I'm in two minds about giving 4 stars for this review. 1. The boat crowd we contracted with - Diamond cruise didn't arrive. We had been in contact up untill the night before and when we arrived the staff at the table didn't know we were coming. In the end we agreed with Ben the boat skipper to pay Rs3000 for 5 people for 2 hours of snorkeling. We enjoyed Ben - but it's irritating that his contracted company still got rhe lions share of rhe money. His direct whatapp number is : +230 5776 3532 2. The marine reserve itself- we had a great time. But loads of dead and bleached corals. And the skippers feed the fish...so lots of little stripped tropical fish around the boats. It's not really a good ecological practise. But I suppose it delights the crowds. We saw some nice fish and some brilliant Trumpet fish. But compared to Thailand, Tioman Islands, Bali, Komodo and others in SE Asia this area of Mauritius is extremely disappointing. Having said that. We still had a great time and there were less experienced folk on the boat for whom the snorkeling was amazing. We received our full 2 hours from Ben.

This is a must go if you are in the sud of Mauritius. The ride will cost you between Rs100-300 which is about a $10. The skipper os great and very friendly, for our we had Benito, he was great and extremly funny, his explanations was on point. If you like fishes and breathtaking underwater scenes this will be a total recommend!!!!!!

We only had a few hours to kill before picking up family from the airport so took a quick 15minute detour to Blue Bay. When we arrived, a guy on the beach offered us a private boat to the middle of the reef for snorkelling (1000rup) so we took him up on it. And well worth it! Managed to see around 8-9 different species of fish and also a trip to Coconut island within the hours trip. Beautiful beach too, stunning sand and lovely warm waters.

What an amazing beach it is? Great atmosphere with blue sky and blue water. Fantastic place for a swim and a glance of the marine life with glass bottom boats.

Want to enjoy an incredible view under water and around? Blue Bay Marine Park is the place to be. Things to enjoy at Blue Bay Marine Park 🌊 A glass bottom trip, it was a calm boating experience, even for those who don't do boat ride due to rough water fear, this is very doable. 🌊 A perfect spot for snorkeling, as the clear water makes it an ideal place to enjoy snorkeling experience. 🌊 Fish feeding, this was immensely loved by my kids. In the middle of the park you can enjoy seeing them gathered around the boat to grab their feed. 🌊 You get to see a variety of corals, which were in a fine condition with little regeneration signs. 🌊 An amazing sight to use underwater cameras.

Beautiful snorkeling spot. There are so many different type of fishes and corals. Crystal clear water as well. Amazing even with cloudy weather. Just wondering if all the boats going aren't damaging the ecosystem. Would probably be better to use non motor boats to preserve the marine life

We did a day trip to Ille Cerf island. Part of the trip was snorkeling in the blue lagoon. It was unbelievable with crystal clear waters and some awesome marine life. I really recommend the trip, it also include lunch on a beach.

Good to know real effort is being made to preserve this piece of paradise. Coral slowly recovering from years of pollution and abuse. Well worth taking a glass bottom boat to view and for snorkeling from. The guides are extremely informative. Many tour companies offer this as one stop off on their 5 island tour. I used Aqua Soleil and can strongly recommend them as having given me the best excursion I have ever had whilst in Mauritius.

A preserved marine park but most corals are dead when looking from the bottom glass boat. Snorking is fun as many fishes swim around.

Up to now it has been my fav place to go snorkeling. Unfortunately there are not enough bins and people tend to throw their garbage everywhere and thus the beach looks horrible and its frustrating to see how people are carefree and ruining this so beautiful beach. I have been able to see a giant tortoise once. You can also swim to the small island which u can see from the beach and back.

Spoiler: Lot of corals are dead in the bay, You can also snorkel on your own no need to book a tour. We booked a tour with Totof Tours, with a boat « fond de verre » , it was really nice, the skippers were really cool (Jules & Marvin), You could also Climb on the roof of the boat, the tour included snorkeling in Ile aux Aigreittes, followed by lunch in Ile Deux Coco and ended up with snorkeling in Blue Bay. The first snorkel was so cool because the current was leading us and not need to swim. The second one was also interesting. We were lucky to have only another couple in the tour and I loved the fact that the boat fond de verre goes slow!

Best place we snorkelled straight from the beach, as we didn't fancy an organised trip. The right hand side which is roped was short on coral but the fish liked the algae on the rope we pulled off. The other left hand side is much better with coral and hence fish, just watch the currents and wear reef shoes - we saw a poisonous Lion fish but luckily not a Stonefish.

Just ok but more activities at ile aux cerf if you have the money that is. This place is good for the free beach use ONLY. Snorkelling was ok here and a chap called percy helps with the activities snorkelling cost 1k for an hour and 1k for the boat ride to the island. Sadly the catch here is the boat rider (samuel who drives the boat victory) who they put u on to rushes u to try finishing snorkellimg fast, so we got 20min of snorkelling and then got dumped on the island ile des deux cocos, here u can only use the beach as you are not a guest. Now Samuel dissapears for 1.5hrs hours and we had no contact of his, luckily staff at the lux resort helped called land and find percy. I would seriously avoid them so heads up. The ile aux cerf is much better and fun and my kids had an awesome time.
