I phoned Red Canyon Spur 4 times around 7pm on the 16th of September only to have them reject all my calls. I then drove there to order a take away. Upon arrival i waited at the "please wait to be seated" sign for 5 minutes with no one assisting me as there was no one at the register. I then walked around the register and took some pictures of everything behind there, when someone finally showed up. The staff was friendly and helpful, however it was very busy and not adequately staffed. This situation was not the staff's fault but the owner. If I were a lesser person I could've walked away with the entire till and everything in it.

Words can truly not explain how horrible the service and food was in this place. It is best described by a fellow customer who spelt out the words KAK with fries when he left. We planned for a quick stop to get food and then sleep in preparation for the next days long drive. The kids food arrived quick, but was really not well prepared ribs and chips. We asked for tomato sauce, but he had finished his food and more than half an hour later we had still not received anything. They did not jvr ice cream??? How. The waiter was nowhere to be found and to get anything I had to go to the kitchen myself and ask. After over an hour our food had not arrived and we could wait no longer so had to cancel our order and head out. The kiddies play area is also the saddest one I have seen ever. There are only a few tables and chairs. All other facilities are broken or just not there. The place desperately needs a good clean too.Do not go there if you have young kids, or if you want food. Sad on you Spur just sad and disappointimg.

Clean, secure parking, good food and service. I recommend the chicken livers and malva pudding. Food was of high quality and generous portions.

Service was fast and very friendly. Food was hearty portions and delicious. A homey breakfast experience! Would recommend.

Consistency is the key to a successful brand!!! You always get what you come format the Spur, no matter where I go!! Thank you to the staff who had some of the biggest smiles you can get in the Karoo!! We had a super evening even though there was loadshedding you guys were on point.

Very sad to receive such poor service from spur. Severely short staffed. We had to wait almost an hour for our food and then one order was incorrect as well. All the tables around us were also complaining and trying to find the manager… next time we have a stop over in Beaufort West we will probably just grab a wimpy and even a garage pie. At least we won’t have to wait

Drove more than 1400 kilometers, stopped to have a meal at 18:15, sat down waited for service, after 10 minutes called the man behind the till and asked for service, he then pointed to two female waitresses to serve us, they ignored him, after 5 more minutes we walked out!! Went over to the 4 sheep across the road and had a great meal. Wake up peopel, you will become a ghost steak house with zeo customers!!!

The manager seemed upset that there were 17 of us and advised us to go to 4 Sheep across the road. We waited very long for the food but the food was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. I doubt that I will ever go there again.

Had a very disappointing breakfast there on 22 December. Passing through and wanting a quick bite. Unfortunately the Spur was not able to handle all the guests. We waited 40 minutes for toasties and one normal breakfast. The eggs (ordered easy over) were overdone. The bacon was black on the sides, burnt. They initially forgot the russian and it arrived halfway through the meal. The orange juice is unfortunately not freshly squeezed. The toasted chicken sandwich turned out to be the SPICY one and my daughter couldn’t eat it. People around us tried getting the waiter’s attention, because everybody wondered what could possibly take so long. Several diners were ready to leave. Either the kitchen staff are poorly trained or missing. The purpose of this review is to alert the management of the restaurant that something is amiss. It would be in your best interest to up your game. It is such a busy time and we would hate for you to suffer losses.

Non existence service at this outlet At first nobody at reception and after a while we were just told by a passing by waiter to find a table Menus brought to us for lunch at 10h30 in the morning Then breakfast menus brought and drinks ordered Again had to ask if a waiter could take our order for food. Other Customers that walked in 20 minutes after us received their food and we had to look for waitress again and ask when we will receive our food Another few minutes and then received something to eat although wrong White bread instead of brown Top up mushrooms not received Will never visit this restaurant again

Friendly service. We ordered the Unreal Breakfast - very tasty. Bathroom - by ladies bathroom the toilet didn't have a seat....but when I went to wash hands ot was fixed - well done! Nice stop over.

The one order had to be sent back twice, before the correct order was delivered. The other order, the chicken had to be sent back as it was still raw. Otherwise the meal was OK.

The staff were friendly and helpfull. Safe parking and the food was of good quality. Will return when I pass thru again.

It's a typical Spur, decent food and service, always consistent. Staff are friendly but in my opinion the food all tastes the same, no matter whether You eat beef or chicken etc. Maybe it's the basting but only the texture differs. That said, the buffalo wings remain a hit except they have become crazy expensive! If You enjoy family restaurants and good consistent food then this Spur, like most others, is a good choice.

Very neat and clean... Very friendly waitress. Fast service and value for money. Safe environment and very relaxed. One of the cleanest Spurs ive seen. Well done!!! Food awesome and music not overwelmed. Easy to find

Food was normal Spur quality. Trainee waiter very enthusiastic to please. However, waffle special advertised all over, waited 20 minutes for ours only to be informed waffle mix was finished! Really? Maybe the chef was just lazy. Furthermore responding to bad reviews with a standard answer is just not on. And no, I will not contact anybody or forward a copy of this review!

Service was slow seeing that there were not many customers in the restaurant. My G&T tasted like sweet syrup, not like gin at all and also did not look as advertised. A bit disappointing.

We ordered garlic roll and thighs with calamari. The calamari was nice but the wings were supposed to be 3 we got 2 and a piece that is not a thigh. The waiter response was "this is our garlic roll (it was a cheese roll, CHEESE) how is cheese same as garlic and I'm lactose intolerance. To top it off the manager came and said that is a thigh, how is this a thigh see 📸

The food was great but we shouldnt have gone there hungry as the service was really slow.

Very nice location near the Place we stayed. The staff very friendly and the place clean and neat. The food was good and very tasty. Will recommend this Spur for eatout in Beaufortwes.

Excellent and friendly service received. Lots of safe parking. The staff is very considered and we really felt at home. The food was great also. Thank you to the staff of Red Canyon Spur that you welcomed us with such friendliness, we will definitely visit again.

Absolutely disgusting service. If I could give a 0.5/5 stars I would. It is extremely disconcerting that a person drives through Beaufort West to get to their holiday destination and they are met with complete incompetence, attitude and extremely long waiting times for food/drink. We ordered starters and drinks upon arrival that came swiftly and then we were met with the worrying realisation that the other google reviews on this Spur were correct. They are incompetent, rude and completely ignorant. We waited a further 45minutes to order food and our 2nd drinks order. Our waiter completely forgot about our table and when we enquired where our order was he was rude and unwilling to help. We then asked to bring the cheque for the food, we ate and left immediately. It is absolutely appalling that this is the type of service us and other customers have received at this Spur (based on Google reviews). We will definitely not visit again and we discourage any other visitors from visiting this Spur either.

The mushroom and calamari starter was good.The ribs were cold served.on a cold plate and were not nicely basted. The watron forgot a number of things and really lacked training. I hope my comments might help.I am in the business myself and would rather have a constructive review than an unhappy customer.

Service from waiter..... friendly however not trained properly...... table and mats sticky.... only wiped on request..... My husband did not get onion rings with his steak as normally on menu, chips.... old and warmed up more than once. We are supporting Spur all over the country.... Sorry to say this one not on standard. We complained... the manager did not even opproached us.

We waited an hour for our breakfast. The place def needs more staff it was busy season and our waiter was running around trying to attend to the masses of people. It was so busy that we couldnt order a second round of drinks as no waiter was available . There were many tables around us that werent cleared either as the waiters could not keep up. Also when our breakfast arrived we had to wait another 20min for our toast and there was no butter. I really think management should do some better planning for the holiday seasons.

Love this place. So many good memorys of my freands and i just having a beer and a plate of chips if we were looking for somthing to do

Very clean and well kept Spur with all the usual trimmings, I'd like to mention that I'm uploading this review using their free WiFi (it isn't that feeble crawling around, looking for water in the desert kind of WiFi either). The staff have been lovely and provided excellent table service. Our party enjoyed perfectly prepared meals and we look forward to returning when next we're in the area.

After a long day driving from JHB, we stopped in Beaufort West for the night. The other two restaurants recommended to us looked empty and we weren't too sure so decided to keep it safe and stick to Spur... WHAT A MISTAKE! For the restaurant being very empty, the chef/manager looked extremely flustered and under pressure. Food took quite some time, the kid's meal arrived but then on it's own. We waited another 15/20min for our meals. When our food eventually arrived... Meh 😒 The fillet steak was unrecognisable because according the the manager, "you need to need to butterfly a fillet steak in order for it to cook faster and be more presentable". It was more than mediocre and very hard in the center. The chips - some were sloppy and some were so hard and almost raw. Don't get me started on the unbattered, oily onion rings - they were like bad body odour on a plate. Couldn't eat a single one. We don't ever, ever complain when we eat out but we just had to last night. They just knocked one drink off our bill to compensate for the atrocious meal. Moral of the story... If you're ever in the bustling town of Beaufort West and you have that "Taste for Life"... Go somewhere else.

Excellent friendly service! Food was prepared exactly as we ordered. I can recommend the Buffalo wings and the Nacho's. Will definitely be back on our next trip.
