Totally worth the struggle to reach. The road is bit difficult very curved and surrounded by mountains We bought tickets once we arrived it costs 4$ per person We hiked for almost one hour and 30 minutes until we reached half way to see the lake from above but we didn't go down to the river because we were exhausted and it was raining so the ground was slippery. The way is amazing surrounded by mountains and trees and the end is magical. And once we finished hiking we stopped by a small cafeteria at the entrance we ordered some food and relaxed It is an amazing experience and worth trying at least once.

One of the most beautiful river in Lebanon. Here is a place 3 in 1, a lot of activity you can do like swiming, hiking, and discovering the beauty of Jabal Moussa Biosphere. Well recommended place 🏞️😋.

Getting to Chouwen is a little bit hard due to the road condition and hard curves but it's definitely worth it. The trail is beautiful and well-maintained that is safe for kids and families. It takes about 45 min from the entrance to the lake, but be careful the water is icy cold.

Jabal Moussa Biosphere is a huge place where you can enjoy hiking for 7 days. More than 10 trails, normal, medium and hard one where you can enjoy a rich nature and you can find some archeological sights. The Biosphere is well maintained.

Amazing hike, very helpful staff at the entry with refreshments to buy. A little tough hike but worth it in the end... wonderful lake at the bottom and a river if you go up the flow.. there's another smaller lake if you go through the water stream. Stay hydrated during the walk

Amazing place to visit. The hike is definitely worth it. It is not very easy to do as it goes up and down quite a bit. The sky blue water is simply marvelous. If you like cold water, the river is great to swim in but be careful if you don't know how to swim because it can be dangerous. There's an entrance fee for the maintenance and cleaning of the hiking trail. There are a couple of places to eat at the top of the hike.

Well maintained. A great 45 minute moderate hike to reach the lake (trail 11). Needs hiking shoes as some parts are steep and may be slippery. Don't forget your swimsuit and towel ... the lake is worth a dip. There is an entrance fee of 80,000 LBP (about 3$) per person. There are several trails in the biosphere. The guide at the entrance can help pick one (dificulty, duration, etc.).

It is a breathtaking place but the the way there is a bit challenging as the roads are only one way.. and the hike is a hard level one.. its not recommended at all if your not fit and used to hiking. Also hiking gear (hiking shoes and stick)is needed.

An epic experience, they take an entrance fee of 100k L.L. and free parking is available. Considering food, you can bring your own food or buy snacks from the shops at the beginning. However anything that causes fire is not allowed, thus you can't bring barbecue or shisha... The trail to reach the river needs 20 minutes or more of hiking, thus you need sport shoes and some rest while walking... The river is clean and not too deep, so children can also enjoy the trip.

A very lovely amazing recommended destination if you like to hike abd love nature and amazing scenery.. It’s a lake on a top of a mountain.. latterly inside the clouds.. You will enjoy the way up with the amazing scenery.. and at the top you arrive to a start point where you hike for 45minutes to reach the magnificent scene of the natural fresh lake coming out in the middle of the mountains and the beautiful forests.. The lake water was very cold and refreshing even the weather was so hot around.. The hole journey was amazing and so much well deserved the time and effort.. I would visit again definitely if I went to Lebanon again.

This destination is definently worth visiting if you're an outdoor enthusiast. The hike's difficulty is considered medium and you better take a hiking stick as in some places the ground might be slippery due to water and leaves. The view is amazing from the top where you can stop for some beautiful pictures. When we arrived to the river, the scene was so glorious! The sun was out and the water was clear and motionless💛 SUPs, kayaks & inflatables are not allowed. Make sure to have your swimsuits ready as you can swim to refresh before continuing the hike🤩 Keep some plastic bags with you so you can pickup some empty cans, bottles and leftovers that you'll find everywhere☹

The location is not that far from Beirut 50min drive, the scenery is amazing, the track is not that hard, easy to average, so for hiking enthusiasts it is not very challenging, yet it offers long tracks up to 4 hours of walks in nature, very clean, and the weather is so fresh, great views on Bekaa and the sea side, it’s a great experience and exit in nature yet not so raw as the tracks are prepared, It can be sometimes crowded depends on the day and the season, and sometimes it can be muddy and wet. I like it at the beginning of the spring and mid Autumn when the weather is cool and there not much crowd there because the weather isn’t hot enough. You can find find some nice restaurants and attractions in the area to have a local authentic culinary and cultural experience within the day.

Breath Taking views, I would recommend everyone to take a bath on the lake(it's soooo cold but refreshing). If you want to visit the whole trail park you should make it in 1-2 days the routes are very well marked.

It’s an hour hike to the lake and another hour back to the beginning spot for the a non athletic. There’s a balcony after mid way that you can see the lake from top which is an amazing view. It’s up to you of you want to continue to the lake or just chill at the balcony then hike back to the road. You need a sports shoes since the rocks are not flat but you won’t need shades as the trees are mostly blocking the sun. You buy the ticket (8$) once you arrive and you start the hike directly.

Beautiful place. The hike is exhausting though. I couldn’t swim because the weather was cold. It is November.

A fantastic day out. Paths are clearly marked and the views are astonishing. Can’t wait to come again. Also be sure to stop at Rita’s cafe, lovely woman with exceptional hospitality.

Please if decide to go there, prepare for a 45min hike, go with your hiking and swimming gear, at the destination you will find food and drinks too, the people are very helpful, note you will pay 20,000LP for adults and 10,000LP for kids. I highly recommend to visit the lake.
