Best cafe shop in Mauritius Note: if there was Starbucks store i will not visit this cafe again

Was feeling a bit peckish so decided to come here. Grabbed a chicken panini with cheese and a masala chai. The bread was heated up in one of the machines which made it warm and crispy - that was nice. However, the chicken was not fresh and tasted extremely dry. It seems like that chicken was sitting there for a while, it certainly wasn’t moist. The cheese, similarly, was not fresh and was quite tough. The masala chai was well presented, with some froth on top. However, the drink itself didn’t really taste like a proper masala chai. There was a hint of cinnamon and star anis. There was no proper balance of flavours and wasn’t particularly strong. If anything, it tasted a little watery. The service was prompt and efficient. Overall, this was a disappointing place to come and have a quick bite. Even with the name of Lux, this was a poor food experience and expect much better. They do have some pastries and cakes, however I’m loathe to recommend coming here when there are so many options in Bagatelle to choose from. I also find myself hesitant to return as a result. Hopefully, in future the quality of food will improve.

Loved the finess of this place. Ordered croissant for 70rs which came with a knife and a fork. I also ordered a vanilla Mauritian tea for 75rs which came with the milk separately which is great. However, a waitress there asked me if I wanted to heat the croissant and I said yes but the croissant was cold.

Had a bubble tea with tapioca pearls and it was not good at all. The tapioca was stale and started disintegrating, there was a hair well wrapped around on of the pearls. I was disgusted. It is the second time we go there and last time the cake was stale.🤨 what is happening guys!?? Is this the standard now?

If you are looking for a coffee shop , then café lux is the place. You can find different kind of hot/cold drinks and cakes at an affordable price. Comfortable place!

I had the peach iced tea and my friends got milkshakes. They were very good. The service was fast. The environment is cozy. The male waiters are more polite and helpful. They courteously ask for what you ordered and will be smiling while they are serving. Or even crack a joke causually. I smiled with the girl taking my order and instead smiled with her colleague giving different eye expressions. I might be assuming stuffs. But, i always have a good time and good pics at cafe lux.

Someone tell these people to give their barista a raise. Brilliant coffee, down to the tiniest detail. I also enjoyed the bubble tea - the tapioca pearls were the most generous I ever had in a bubble tea. Their Wi-Fi is also more reliable than the mall Wi-Fi. Great place and equally great service.

Lovely selection of cakes, but savoury items abit stale looking and tasting. Cashier was obviously tired and did not greet warmly as I have come to expect from Mauritian hospitality. Coffee great but food and service lacking.

Huge difference between the Café lux in Bagatelle and the Café lux in Port-Louis or Trianon! The food and drinks served at Café Lux Port-Louis/Trianon are always amazing! The banana parfaits I had at Bagatelle ,the ice tea and the iced caramel coffee really lacked flavour. Expected much better.

Today my family and i ordered 3 carrot cakes, 1red velvet cake, a hazelnut latte coffee and a matcha bubble tea latte. We used to love these cakes before but now the quality has deteriorated a lot :( The latte coffee (with hazelnut syrup) is way too sweet and the matcha bubble tea latte is not sweet at all. The carrot cake takes like dry bread with buttercream having the taste of the cheapest mil butter. The red velvet cake tastes really dry too( as if it's been kept for days ) I really hope you improve your quality in the future because in all honesty, it's not worth the money!

Standards failing…no proper crockery at 11h on a Saturday morning for dine in customers and specially no explanation or apologies provided beforehand only a mumbling uncertain explanation… tourists are back but standards are still lacking behind…

Ordered an espresso and a MS chocolate at 5 pm. Clearly requested to the lady taking the order that I would like my espresso hot as I have had warm coffees several time. She said yes, put it on the order note while being busy getting the attention of one of her male colleagues. My espresso came 12 minutes later lukewarm and the MS chocolate came 25 minutes later, thick and hard to suck through the pipe. Everytime I come, the level of service keeps lowering. That's a pity for such a brand and quality coffee and food, especially when it's named after a top brand of hotels providing outstanding service.

Overpriced, and not fresh. Service is not great either. Check out Artisan Coffee which is next to the cinema. Might be better service and quality coffee.

Train your staff to be polite! Before take my order cashier didn’t not pay attention to me as she was very busy to laugh with her colleagues. It was very complicate for her to remember: 1 normal and 1 almond cappuccino. Instead of this she put in the bill 2 almond cappuccino, but in fact they brought 2 normal. It is not a problem, but they never say :excuse me and never smiling.

Coffee is pretty good - their menu listed Nitro + Aeropress but they said they don’t carry it. Please take it off the menu if you will never have it.

I would give them five stars if the lunch options were better. Pastry is quite good and the selection of beverages is excellent. I truly enjoyed the ice tea which I tried a week ago. Also the staff ensure you receive your order within a reasonable amount of time.

It's ok. The choice fairly wide and the quality is above the average Cafe in Mauritius but there is often a price premium that is not proportionate. The service can be a little slow at times and a lot of items on the menu are often not available.

Great selection of quality cakes, pastries and savoury snacks, well staffed but one or two need further training on customer service. About the only high quality coffee venue in Trianon mall.

For the extortionate price you would think that you would expect a more luxurious service but much to my disappointment, I found myself with a loss of a pair of trousers due to the lack of cleanliness at the tables! Shame for charging Mauritians a price higher than you would in europe at a disgusting table!

Good service. Quick and professional. Waiters are welcoming and friendly but staff at the till are not as helpful and warm. Turkey and guac panini was very tasty. Cappuccino was rich and strong. Babychinos too hot and pricey. Coffee shop is clean and well designed but the seats are just not comfy. Was not a very big fan of their food but the panini was a hit. When I have had cakes there in the past I always found they were just sweet lumps with a lot of effort on how they look rather than how they taste. I might give it another try soon to see if there has been any change.

Excellent place for a coffee relaxing time. Service excellent. Only reasons I gave 4 stars are air con was a bit too strong and place too small. I also think Lux Cafes should focus more on selling mauritian cakes like tarte banane, puit damour, eclair, napolitaines, chemin dferre , tourtes, massepain, brioche rather than selling cheese cakes.
