I had a local draft beer while my family enjoyed the waterfront tour. Fast, friendly, free WiFi and cold beer. It was great.

It used to be one of the most expensive places to eat a pizza, not so much as of 2022 because other restaurants have raised their prices too. Sunset Cafe is a glorious place to enjoy a pizza alfresco with a view of the harbour, particularly in winter when Port Louis is just about the only place where you can still enjoy plenty of sunshine. Lunch is preferable as dinner service is a little slower. They have a nice selection of beverages which includes coffee, cocktails and mocktails - watch out for the Diabolo which is excellent and almost exclusive to Sunset Cafe.

The staff are just absent, chit chatting and don't pay attention to clients. They don't seem to care with their tourist clientele who will only go there once, whilst on holiday. It is very unfortunate the face of a restaurant is it’s servers. During the Caudan Food Festival, my husband and I DID have some take away food. We wanted to sit and have a drink at the Sunset Cafe’s outside patio. We barely touched a chair when the server scolded us and told us leave. I tried to explain in English AND French that we wanted to order a drink but she didn’t hear us because she busy yelling at us. My husband repeated WE WANT TO ORDER A DRINK. She conceded but told us to clean up after ourselves. Needless to say, we did NOT stay there. PLEASE retrain your servers in customer service! Her correct reaction could have been …I am sorry but we do not permit outside food…which in that case we would have put it away. Her attitude and behavior was extremely unprofessional and because of her extreme rudeness I will never eat at this restaurant or recommend it. Sorry if she had to clean up other people’s messes but that is no excuse to treat others.

Didnt know what to expect from this well presented causal restuarant on the Marina but was pleasantly surprised. Fish was excellent and cought fresh that day, pizza very good and the staff were lovely, Very helpful and made a real effort to make us feel welcome. If you want a causal dinner, with a nice view for a very reasonable price, then Sunset Cafe is a great option. Not sure how other reviews can say that this restuarant is expensive, as it was by far the cheapest meal we had on our trip and thats hunting around for local places not just resorts. Mauritius is expensive and we live in London!
