We stayed at several pousadas during our Portugal-Trip with this one - unfortunately - the least enjoyable. The hotel itself as well as the facilities are quite nice, but the interiour of the rooms is gloomy and not good in shape. In order to switch out the floor-light, you have to switch off the main-power which will also cut all power-sources (mobile, laptop). Next, the breakfast buffet offers very few things with the scrambled eggs being every morning more like an egg-soup. The service-lady is everything but attentive and helpful...and please be quick and drink the complimentary water in your room as it will be put away the second day, no regards if the bottle is empty or full. All in all a rather surprising and disappointing experience for all the other pousadas were such perfect accommodations!

Absolutely not a 4 star hotel. It felt like a cheap motel. My boyfriend and I booked this hotel because it was outside the city center and we wanted somewhere quiet that was not crowded. There were issues immediately when we arrived. Dirty hotel room, shower that wouldn’t drain, dead bugs left on the wall, dirty curtains, extremely slow Wifi, etc. The nighttime front staff was able to switch our room for us when we said that the tub wouldn't drain but the new room given to us still didn't feel worth the price (although the tub drained so that was a plus). We’ve stayed at another Pestana hotel and had an incredible experience and thought that this hotel would be similar. We were so wrong. Do not book this hotel. It is not worth the cost AT ALL. There was so much potential for it to be a great hotel given the location in a historic building but the hotel just felt way too dirty like it was falling apart.

It is really understaffed. They do their best but it cannot honestly be regarded as an international 4 star hotel

Very nice hotel with big rooms (room 101-109). Beeakfast is excellent and the location is beautiful, next to the palace.

We had a pousada tour where we enjoyed 5 different pousadas. I must admit that this one was the least in attractiveness. It would still be a good hotel near Lisbon.

Nice spacious room but the experience wasn't quite as good as I had hoped. The hotel didn't appear to be busy. We turned up quite early and hoped to be able to check in but the lady on reception was very clear that check in was not going to be possible until 3pm and not a minute earlier. I booked the hotel because it had a restaurant but the restaurant was closed so that was also disappointing. The room we had on the first floor was right by the lift and the mechanism was quite noisy in the night. There is a door between the bedroom and bathroom so if you are staying in that room be sure to make sure its closed or you will have a disturbed night. Breakfast was fine.

A comfortable hotel in an historic building. Excellent service from friendly,helpful staff.

We spent three nights here in March, 2019. The room was well set up and sizable. Thee were lovely amenities, bathrobes and towels. It was quiet and well located. We had a neat breakfast daily and a wonderful dinner in the original palace kitchen. From here we easily traveled by train to Sintra and various sites in Lisbon, so a car wasn't needed.

Very large bedrooms at the hotel with a good breakfast. Evening meal has to be taken across the road but well worth the short walk. If you're in the neighborhood, this is a good place to stay and the palace across the road is a great place to visit; well preserved rooms and contents with very few visitors.

A good historic Pousada. Rooms are clean and comfortable, beds are comfortable. Great location if you are planning on visiting the Palace of Queluz.

Very friendly staff, clean spacious rooms (in my opinion lacking a kettle) and a solid breakfast with cereals, bacon, scrambled eggs plenty of fruit and breads. Again with good service.

Fabulous posada,clean rooms,helpful friendly staff,lovely breakfast and all in historic,tasteful surroundings. Huge bedroom,bathrooms clean,room service. Honestly just a fabulous place to stay. Palace and gardens across the road. Queluz doesnt have much to offer however,train station just 10 min walk away from pousada easy to get to Lisbon and Sintra.

Quality hotel, beautifully decorated rooms, Elegant place to stay. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast. The restaurant offers high quality dishes.

Website information was misleading. I was expecting to have accommodation with access to the palace gardens. Turns out the hotel is in the middle of a car park, while palace gardens are entirely different enterprise. Not even a discount for entry! Rooms good standard, food pretty basic

Lovely, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast....looking forward to meal in restaurant across the road. Only (very minor) complaint is that there is not tea/coffee making facilities in room. Would very much recommend it.
