Great trails for running, mountain biking, or hiking! Sometimes you see horses, almost all the time there are dogs. It can be easy to get lost on the trails, so I would recommend taking a picture of the map before you start! Fence line is shaded and easier footing, great for beginners. Backstage pass is shorter and fun to explore the top of.

I am from the DFW area and I stumbled on the park while visiting some friends. We hopped in the car to visit the swimming area. Let me tell you, the pictures don't do it justice. The water is clear and beautiful. The natural scenery is gorgeous. There are deer wandering the park areas - absolutely wonderful! I only spent a couple of hours here, but I wish it was much much longer.

Def a surprise for us, it’s just an hour away from Austin downtown area. We read this park only open from May to end of September due to funding issue. But it’s a very maintained park, we loved the white rocky hiking trail and the plants here. It has water, mountain and shade. There aren’t too many sign and a visitor center, they could use more 🪧 signs, we weren’t so sure where to go. But glad we have all trail, did a short but lovely walk

I will always come hike these trails and when it gets more into summer I will be coming to swim. It's peaceful our here. And it's very pet friendly just keep em on a leash.🥰

Beautiful lakeside park with decent amenities. Definitely a great place to go for a picnic with a view of the lake. The only reason I’m not leaving 5 stars is because there’s a lack of trash cans in the picnic table area and there’s a lot of broken glass in the beach area.

This is one of our favorite places to camp! The wind gets a bit much at times, but the fishing and hiking are wonderful! The water is clear, the park and restrooms are clean, and the hosts are friendly!

Hiked 5 miles at this park took the fence line trail. Walked around the twin peaks and back. Wonderful trails clean and well maintained. Parking at the entrance can be a challenge. People park along the road way and the pavement drops down significantly. Be careful otherwise you will damage the underbody of your car.

We have stayed here before and really enjoy it! Although the lake is low, you can walk to the water. Restrooms with shower in walking distance and clean. Electric and water are a great plus! No flies or mosquitoes, but did see some ants. Well worth at to stay a day or two!

Great location and views of the lake with shore fishing. Also has a boat launch with hiking and biking trails. Unfortunately several years ago for what was claimed as budget reasons they only have the RV sites open half the year. So the primary income of the park brings nothing during the winter while the operating costs remains. So 5 stars for when you can get in and no stars for trying to RV in the non blazing hot months of Texas.

Love this park! Lots of trails, super dog friendly, and lots of places for the pups to swim. There are plenty of trails so you don't run into many people after getting through the main path that breaks off into the other trails. We come here once or twice a week.

4 star place to go relax for the day, would be 5 but there are no trash cans easily accessible so people just throw trash around which is sad but having some trash cans around the picnic area would help with that some, one of the BBQ's was stuffed with trash. If you can go when it's quiet it's awesome, we ended up leaving once some people came by that had screeching children with super soakers and another tied their poor dog to a pole and left him alone to howl. The water on the lake is pretty and is very clean. The man at the entrance was very nice and gave us a couple leads on other parks in the area to go visit too. It's only 5 dollars for the day and you can come and go as you please for the whole day. There is a couple boat ramp areas, plenty of camping areas, the picnic area with BBQ's, bathrooms, hiking trails all over, and lots of parking. If you need to get out, get some walking in and get some fresh air this is an awesome place.

Good hiking park. Got to see a lot of wildlife, ran into some deer, and some nice birds. Left the parking lot at 0600 and got to this photo just a few minutes after sunrise. Only one person in our group slipped on the way down the hill but didn’t get hurt, so all in all a good park.

Beautiful place to enjoy fun, food, family and friends. $5 per vehicle to enter, you can stay all day. Places to camp, fish, swim, play volleyball, lay in the sun, barbecue or just hike. Some grills are provided as well as tables but you've got to get there early or just bring your own. Lovely view, deers are out often.

It's definitely a good trail for beginners, but also have steeper paths for more advanced hikers. Here for the views 😍

In the past 13 years this has been one place that continues to grow even more beautiful with time. Hiking in the Fall while the leaves are changing and lakeside swimming in the summer...small town living at its best. Bring your furry loved ones as long as they are leashed....lake rules 😊.

Love coming to the Dana Peak swim beach! There's plenty of room to spread out in the water and on the 'beach'. We've been here when the lake is high and low and love it no matter what.

Beautiful park with public access separate from the campsites. Just watch out for the mud along the waters edge! Download the recreation app to pay for use, the fee for all day was $5

Great walking trails. Several paths. Easy to read signage. Parking/accessibility could be better, though, and is the only reason I took off a star.

We really had fun camping here. I recommend getting ant repellent spray. There’s water as well as electricity. You can enjoy playing volleyball, fishing, swimming, and flying kites. Best thing is there’s a gas station 10 mins drive away in case you need to buy some drink, ice, or firewood.

This has become one of my favorite spots to camp with my family. Bathrooms were clean and facilities are very nice and functional.

Surprisingly cool hiking and biking trails. Expansive views at the peak, fun rolling single-track with extended (by TX standards) climb to the peak.

Really nice and relaxing without overcrowding. We enjoyed spending time by the lake and the water is clearer than you would expect. It is a must visit to this location! 🙌👙⛱️🌊
