Took the family to BLORA to see the Christmas lights. This has been a tradition for the family since we moved here five years ago. Each year is better than the last. They even have an AM station you can turn to and listen to Christmas music while you drive and see the lights. This year it was only $20 per vehicle to get in. It takes about one hour to drive the lighted path and see all of the beautiful dislpays

The Christmas light show is so ghetto and clearly army-sponsored that it's actually hilarious. Santa's village is just an old high school auditorium-like building filled with shacks that sell tacky toys, strangely intricate crucifixes that scream Texas, and instant hot chocolate from behind a wall school-cafeteria-style. Great for little kids and for truly memorable dates for people with a strange sense of humor.

It is a really good time. Very long park to drive through which is great because there is tons of different lights and different things to see. We came on a Thursday a couple weeks before Christmas and nobody was there besides maybe one or two other vehicles which made it very nice but if you go closer to Christmas you can wait for hours and hours in line so I suggest going earlier in December and later. At Santa‘s Village they have snack foods such as popcorn hotdogs hot chocolate candy funnel cakes and stuff like that that are reasonably priced. Also there is some craft vendors inside the barn. It is $20 per vehicle to get in and five dollars per pony ride per kid.

The area itself is beautiful! The boat rental staff was awesome. The only negative is the young lady working at the front desk at check-in. She was rude and lazy. Fortunately, the area and other staff made up for her failures.

We have been coming here for 30+ years, bringing our kids who are now adults. Quiet cabins (2 BR). Folks at the desk are friendly and helpful! Lots of water activities, biking trails, horseback riding, even a paintball place down the road a bit. Not the Ritz, but not intented to be. Thanx to the military for making this available!

The next time the military says the need more money remind them they have facilities in which they refuse to rent to civilians smh. I dnt understand why everyone can access the park but only military can rent equipment and facilities. Easter weekend and pavillions are open to rent but they only take money from military and beg for civilian money through legislation. I do not feel bad for military resource shortages 😂 thank you Harvey for your lack of service.

5 miles of nice displays. The kids loved the light shows. Great set up! (Was a bit surprised it went up to $20 a car)

A friend and I drove here to see the light show in the Christmas week of December 2019, and I enjoyed it. All the Christmas lights were so pretty at night, when we arrived, plus they had an entire radio station dedicated to playing Christmas music that suited the scenery. The entry fee was very reasonable, at $10, though there were a lot of cars ahead of us. That made the drive slow, but I did not mind; more opportunities to take photos of the cute light-up figures and animations that was on display there! From Rudolph and the other reindeers, Frosty the snowman, the Santa Claus family and other old traditional Christmas folktales ... this place did not fail to entertain me on it's creativity and inclusive environment on everything Holidays-related. My favourite scene had to be nearing the end, with the light-up tunnel that encompassed our entire vehicle in a beautiful array of lights. This place is a definite must-visit for the whole family, whether you are living near or visiting TX. The Christmas light up show at BLORA is a blast. All the money collected goes into funding the park and other charities, so it is for a good cause, too.

Just before the COVID Pandemic, we bought a camper and spent an extensive amount of time living in said camper out at the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreational Area. The opportunity for minimalistic living accompanied by the views of the lake and the fresh air, my family truly enjoyed our time here at the park.

Very spacious park with concrete pads for RVers and grassy areas for tents. It is very serene and the deer will greet you in the morning. They will stop and watch you to see if you get too near. If you do they will bounce off. So move quietly around your campsite if you wish to watch them graze. The lake is large and while they do not have WiFi or anything like rv places - it is a great place to be at. They do have a very small laundry facility. The one drawback was the bathroom - if you plan to visit one arm yourself with disinfectant and a face mask! 😷 you would think they would clean them at least once a week!

Very clear and staff friendly. Had to leave park early because of thunder. No where to go, packed up and went home. No rain.

Camper lots are %100 covered in asphalt. Like as far as the eye can see and right up to the rivers edge.

Been coming here during winter months since retiring from military service & always a good place to bring my rv since i full time. The only downside to me is the prices being hiked lately & or the Ft Hood commanding general deciding to punish everyone in the park due to active duty soldiers on west fort hood rv park living like pigs which is another reflection of lack of leadership by their supervisors as much as lack of soldier indoctrination from civilian taking personal responsibility for themselves!

Camping here now. Grass at camp site is up to my knees. Bath houses are absolutely disgusting. Worst military camp ground we’ve ever visited.

Not an easy journey to this park. View is great and the price is somewhat reasonable. You have some mountain bike paths next to the park but you have to register anyway if you want to use them. Park itself could use some more respect and love. Strange that there is no fee for just a small walk around.

Absolutely gorgeous park!! The water park is probably for kids? I dunno I've never checked it out, but the water is so clean here it's amazing!! Facilities are well kept, and the campground is just awesome, trees for shade at nearly every spot!
