This
place
has
promise.
I
wanted
to
try
one
of
the
chef
specials
which
include:
-
Salmon
Capaccio
(Salmon
sashimi
and
bean
sprout
with
ponzu
sauce),
-
Yellowtail
Jalapeno
(Yellowtail
sashimi
and
jalapeno
with
ponzu
sauce)
-
Albacore
Crispy
Onion
(Albacore
and
crispy
onion
with
soy
mustard
sauce)
-
Salmon
Citrus
(Crab
and
lemon
wrapped
with
salmon)
Neither
of
these
sounded
too
exciting
though
I
may
come
back
to
try
the
Salmon
Citrus
on
my
next
visit.
For
this
initial
visit,
I
opted
for
the
LA
favorite
Philadelphia
roll
as
well
as
Salmon
sashimi,
tuna
sashimi,
and
Yellowtail
sashimi.
I'm
a
fan
of
Salmon
so
as
long
as
it's
fresh
enough
I'll
enjoy
a
good
serving
of
salmon
sashimi.
The
Tuna
sashimi
had
a
nice
cut
and
the
color
and
texture
confirmed
that
it
wasn't
the
highest
grade.
The
Yellowtail
sashimi
left
much
to
be
desired.
It
may
not
be
visible
in
the
photos
I
shared
for
this
restaurant
but
the
consistency
was
slightly
slimy
but
there
was
no
bad
odor
and
it
didn't
taste
old.
It
just
seemed
to
be
a
lower-quality
cut.
This
is
in
comparison
with
similar
Yellowtail
orders
from
local
sushi
spots
in
the
surrounding
area.
For
being
a
small
and
almost
hidden
spot,
this
has
the
potential
for
being
your
local
hidden
gem.
The
menu
is
surprisingly
large
with
many
fresh
rolls
that
have
a
Mariscos
fusion
feel
to
them
such
as
the
Bell
Gardens
Roll
(Crab,
Cucumber,
Shrimp
tempura
with
Spicy
tuna,
Cilantro,
and
Red
Onion).
I
don't
tend
to
see
many
fresh
rolls
with
cilantro
and
red
Onion.
(Legend
Roll,
and
Monster
Roll
are
two
more
examples).
One
fresh
roll
that
also
caught
my
attention
is
the
Numero
Uno
roll
which
may
give
some
fierce
competition
to
some
of
the
close-by
sushi
spots
that
have
similar
rolls
(I'm
thinking
MPR).
In
closing,
I
can't
give
this
spot
5
stars
yet.
Not
because
they
do
not
deserve
it,
but
because
I
haven't
sampled
enough
of
the
wide
range
of
dishes
to
see
how
it
fairs
among
the
more
established
sushi
restaurants
in
the
area.
If
you're
in
the
mood
for
sushi
Mui
Sushi
will
hit
the
spot
without
hitting
the
pocketbook
too
hard.
EDIT
(05/24/2022):
Went
in
again
today
to
try
out
the
Numero
Uno
Roll
which
has
Spicy
Tuna,
Cucumber,
and
Cilantro
inside
the
roll,
and
Albacore,
Avocado,
and
Jalapeno
on
the
outside.
It
was
not
too
spicy
but
extremely
delicious.
Highly
recommended,
especially
if
you
are
a
fan
of
Spicy
tuna.
I
also
tried
the
Chef
Special:
Salmon
Citrus
which
has
crab
and
lemon
wrapped
with
salmon.
The
crab
reminded
me
a
bit
of
the
mix
you'll
typically
find
in
a
California
roll
but
it
was
a
bit
more
smooth.
Being
a
salmon
fan,
this
was
a
huge
thumbs
up
for
me.
Can't
wait
to
try
the
other
3
chef
specials.
As
a
side
note,
although
I've
only
tried
a
small
fraction
of
the
dishes
available
here,
I
did
update
my
review
from
4
stars
to
5
stars.
The
sushi
chef
hadn't
realized
I
placed
my
order,
and
although
it
was
only
a
couple
of
minutes
over
the
initial
time
I
was
given
to
receive
my
order,
the
chef
came
out,
apologized,
added
a
couple
of
extra
pieces
to
my
order,
and
gave
me
a
complimentary
drink.
This
was
absolutely
NOT
necessary.
The
extra
star
is
for
the
importance
given
to
the
customer.
Going
out
of
your
way
to
make
sure
they
have
the
best
experience
is
something
we
don't
see
too
often
anymore.
In
coming
back
to
update
my
review
I
noticed
the
new
reviews
and
decided
to
read
through
them.
This
fantastic
customer
service
was
not
unique
to
me,
meaning
that
this
sushi
restaurant
does
its
best
to
ensure
every
customer
experience
goes
above
and
beyond.
Great
job
Mui
Sushi!
