I visited this location as part of a Where's Waldo search for local businesses. The property is well landscaped with adequate parking. The paths on the grounds appeal to all ages, and there are restrooms and administration rooms on both floors of the main building. The activity rooms display numerous taxidermy items at varied heights. However, this building is more geared towards families with younger children; a toddler gate guards the top of the stairs to help safeguard overly eager and independent visitors. There was a birthday party in the larger downstairs activity room during my visit, and the employee took particularly diligent care in her interactive wildlife discussion to keep both the children and parents engaged. She introduced the group to a variety of live creatures in a safe and controlled manner. She also led the group on a nature hike that concluded at the picnic area for the actual party. During my exploration of the building and the grounds, I was able to observe various natural habitats and animal enclosures. I had a peacefully wonderful walk on the paths, which was well shaded. I passed several gates to the grounds, a playground, and viewing areas with paired benches at strategic locations. My walk took about 30 minutes. I plan to take a more leisurely walk of the grounds in the near future.

This place is sooo fun! It’s free to tour the discovery room’s Tuesday-Thursday from 10-12 & 4-6. My kids absolutely loved this place. All of the staff are volunteer based and sooo knowledgeable. They were patient with my children— taking the time to take each animal out of its cage and answer all 100 questions my kids had! Haha! If you have kids who love bugs, snakes, lizards and more— you gotta go check this place out. I learned just as much as my kids about how each animal lived, ate, and likes/dislikes. There are crafts, books to read, and toys to play with. You are sure to have a great time visiting this wonderful little place! Follow us on Instagram & Facebook sc_crew_family

The place is simply beautiful. It is a nice place for someone looking for a quite retreat from citys busy life. The chirping of the birds, squeaking of squirrels brings a delight to ears and the greenery to the eyes.

Great place to take the kids and they have a parking lot. Wasnt very busy on a Saturday afternoon. Places to play indoors and learn. Cute little hiking trails and small ponds. In the back is a sand pit and playground. Looks like they offer classes and camps. Lots of small critters inside aquariums. We will be back.

Mo who taught the children's mammal class is so awesome. So engaging, even though it's a million degrees and humid out. Such an awesome place. 🥰

We went there for the bubbles and more play day. It was a bit crowded, because lots of families were interested. My daughter loved it. I'm not sure what it is like during other parts of the year, but we had a good time exploring the house, pretending with the toys, and coloring. They had one of their snakes out, and the handler did a great job. Normally my daughter is terrified of snakes, but (eventually) she not only touched the snake, but insisted on coming back to it again later on!

Incredible place for the whole family, we can’t wait to go back and check it out! We saw an event on Facebook but I got the times mixed up so we had missed it by an hour however the next one I definitely plan to bring the kids back because this place was just so neat I am excited to take them!

We’ve gotten a great time together at the pumpkin patch. Bring your mosquito spray. Good for family time.

Visited the center during a birthday party hosted by NDC. This included a tour of the building. A good place to chill and is a hidden gem tucked away behind the trees. Some live animals for petting and bird viewing for those who are interested.

Really cute place. Kids loved. The nature center was closed for spring break but the grounds were open. Wasn't as big as I thought it would be.

Visited for Fall Festival. Super sweet to walk around to see all the vendors set up, watching the little try to pick up pumpkins!

Such a fun little park. Kids love the animals and while it's snall, the trails are fun.

The place is shaded, limited free parking. There are short trails, very toddler friendly. The birthday package is only for members. However, the birthday package will come with guided tours, a brief exciting demonstration with wild animals. They also have Pumpkin Patch events every year, which are well organized and playful.
