Not a fan. Sites are tight, unless you are lucky enough to get a 'premium' site. WIFI was broke when we were there. No picnic tables (what's with that?). Lot's of paperwork and signing before entry.

Very nice clean quiet campground. I was in the area for work and it looked like the nicest place to stay in town. Spots pretty level and well maintained. No problems at all. Lots of birds and got to see an alligator and large turtle. they have 2 nice walking/biking trails. Also they have a small observation tower you can walk up and get a look around .Local airport is only a couple miles away. I got to fly over and have a look as well. Beautiful spot.

Swampland with gators literally waiting 10 feet from your camper to take your dog, minimal grounds upkeep around campers, snakes bigger than your arm laying around and an extremely hateful older lady that works the office. Can't get away quick enough. Wifi is provided but the signals don't reach the campers & phone service is almost nonexistent. Had to drive off the island to send a text today. They have a really nice walking trail circle, as advertised, but they don't mention you're not actually able to walk around it. It's gated and locked with the walkway blocked off. I'm actually gonna bump my stars up 1 just because of all the friendly fellow campers I've met while here though!

Had a great weekend. Staff is very nice. Campground is well kept and feels safe. Lots of wildlife . Wish we could have stayed longer. Bath house/ restrooms were clean for the campers without their own. We will be back when it gets cooler.

We haven’t even arrived to Torry Island yet, but I just had to put a review. Customer service and the lady in the office is so amazing. ❤️ We are a family of 6, and we are coming all the way from Tennessee. We have traveled 15 hours with four little boys. And we had an inconvenience in Tennessee where it put us behind schedule. And we are gonna be late arriving. And instead of turning us away, she is allowing us to come and stay and just check in tomorrow morning. ❤️ Bless her heart. I just wanted to share that. Kindness goes a long way, and she sure has taken such a huge stress off of our shoulders.

Lots of open campsites right now, great nature trails, playground for kids, check out the Observation Tower on one of the trails. Lots of bath houses with showers, laundry facilities & free wifi. Lots of spots for fishing, like off the boardwalk next to Slim's Fish House (all you need for fishing here), lots of boat ramps to put your boat in... Looking for a quiet, relaxing campground, this place is great!

Great place with an awesome location, quiet with plenty of walking trails, bring your boat! A dog park and playground for kids. Nice and spacious spots for the RV. Amazing sunset view from the campground or nearby observation tower.

Torry's was a very inviting and peaceful place to be today. The scenic views of the Island was beautiful to take in. Also it was extremely clean, well kept for taking family pictures. Very nice I will visit it again!

Keep your expectations low and you will enjoy your stay. First to note the campground is run by the local town government, so check in is about as enjoyable as going to the DMV. The staff are equally as unpleasant. Also don’t expect to get the campsite you reserved, as it certainly won’t be available, not by any other reason then staff here clearly don’t care. Half the park has a rather unpleasant smell to it, much like overflowing sewer. The dumpster was so full for 2 days that trash bags were just heaped outside of it. The only perk of the park is a 2 mile perimeter biking/walking trail complete with lookout tower. Lastly, be sure to pack in your supplies, the nearest grocery store is 35 mins away.

Beautiful campground with plenty of bird life. Friendly and helpful staff. Our site was across from Scout Island and very relaxing just watching the wildlife across the water. The Moscovy ducks were always going from site to site, and even though we never fed them it was nothing to have one (or more) resting under our lawn chairs. Kayaking was a little rough from the breeze and other boats for our taste, but very nice riding bikes and walking around the pond trails.

Lots of paperwork to sign but we were rewarded with the warmth of our host and fellow campers, and the beauty of the location. Volunteers made dinner for all of us today. What a pleasant surprise. Thank you Cindy and thank you to the volunteers! This is a special place.

It was not my first time at Torrey Island, but it was my first time at the Black Golf Festival. Everybody was very nice, and the vendors were all very nice, and had some very nice wares for sale. It will not be my last Black Gold festival.

This place is definitely different. Thank goodness they spray for mosquitoes nightly with the truck. We have stayed here 3 different times. Last time we had quite an adventure. My kid broke his arm ( not the parks fault) and it wasn’t that bad of a ride into the city to the big hospital. If you don’t like kinda county quite living with a little bit of partying on the weekends then you came to the wrong place. The plank is clean as far as the campsites. ( not sure if they have updated the bathrooms yet. Hopefully they have added more lots as well that are full hook up also.) love the laundry room although it would be awesome if they moved it inside the campground instead of driving out and then having to go in another gate to do laundry. We will definitely go back if ever back that way. One thing that gets me is when your on a sight and they book for this festival every year people just come in for the weekend and they try to move everyone around. That’s the only thing that bothered me. I would just set them up on what lots you could that were open and not move people that had booked months or are staying months for weekenders for that event. The lady’s in the office are sweet as can be and the campground manager is always very involved.

Place is under construction, our site wasn’t mowed in awhile very over grown. The people were very rude, bathrooms were disgusting. Not a kid friendly campground at all. Will not go back.

Looks terrific, 540 for parking a trailer with all included is not bad, I might camp there this winter. Canals that bring you to the big lake is a big plus.

been here full time for work with my wife and 3 dogs for 3months now and love the campground. Staff and services are excellent, plus the price is perfect to be surrounded by freshwater fishing. It is about an hour from the palm beach and 1.5 from miami so all the east coast stretch between will keep you plenty busy.

Lovely campground set among the lagoons of Lake Okeechobee; full of RVs but with more of the old "campground" spirit - more spread between sites, more grass than asphalt, more actual trees (!) - than is typical in FL. Especially suited for airboat or other flat-hulled fishermen. Positive, friendly management is busily upgrading across the board. Haven't successfully addressed the problematic wifi yet, though, the only reason no fifth star. Big, huge positive: longer stays are less here than in other nearby parks - and not by a little. Lesser negative: the town of Belle Glade is not very attractive, though groceries, fast food and fuel are all available. Bright spot amidst that negative: Belle Glade's library is a refreshing thing of beauty, with excellent free wifi, and is only a few miles away.

Rude and they decriminalized people when they have a certain camper but yet they have older campers then mine and they claim they don't take pop up camper but yet they was a pop up camper there.

It's not a bad campground. Very large. Lots of campers. Looks like most people live here permanently. We were just passing through. Got a spot right on the water. Ducks are very friendly. Showers are very nice.

Ladies in the office are very nice. I was working at a power plant near by and had my girlfriend staying with me. She had plenty of things to keep her occupied while I was at work. There’s a nice bike trail around the water and the fishing is pretty good right behind the campsite. Caught a few catfish just messing around. Lots of wildlife to see rabbits, ducks, hogs, bobcat and iguanas. This was my second time staying here and I will be back.

  • 3/5 Bill H. 4 years ago on Google
Nice but barely big friendly. Very tight, don't arrive in the dark. Registration had a six page agreement to sign (never seen anything close to it on 16 years of RVing). Also need to copy your driver's license and guest t DL license. My 50A hook up only had 30A available. Most sites on water. Lots of boat activity. Air boats sound like your on a run way.

  • 5/5 Michael B. 4 years ago on Google
Good camping, fishing with a bait shop

  • 5/5 Michael B. 4 years ago on Google
Quiet area. Easy access to Lake Okeechobee. Always safe. A lot of snakes, alligators, ospreys, and a pair of bald eagles nest nearby. Still a hidden gem. Good stopping point to stretch your legs halfway between East and West Coast FL. New addition for 2018/2019 is that there is now a free observation tower! Dynamite! Ample free parking.

Great little gem on the edge of the Everglades. Torry Island is actually a series of small islands inside the rim canal on the southeast corner of Lake Okeechobee. Lots of wildlife to see with a neat hiking trail and observation tower. Golf course and fishing are nearby. The City of Belle Glade has been steadily updating the sites and making improvements. Some may be turned off by the Belle Glade address, but I assure you this feels worlds away. The staff is friendly and makes every effort to accommodate its guests. We've met and gotten to know a lot of nice people here.
