My
wife
and
I
finally
made
it
to
Homeschool
BBQ
today,
and
wow.
Just
wow.
Well,
OK.
I
can
say
more
than
that.
First,
I’m
so
glad
they
kept
the
chaotically
fun
decor
from
Homeskillet.
And
Aaron
and
Chris
really
keep
the
Homeskillet
vibe
alive
-
it
makes
me
so
happy.
Second,
the
food.
I
got
a
brisket
biscuit
sandwich
with
a
side
of
roasted
veggies,
while
my
wife
got
a
pulled
pork
biscuit
with
mac
salad
and
German
potato
salad.
We
also
got
an
order
of
mixed
pickles
to
share.
The
pickles
came
in
a
little
glass
cup
which
was
packed
with
briny,
tart,
sweet,
and
slightly
tongue-tingling
goodies.
We
had
pickled
cauliflower,
little
tomatoes,
daikon
(radish),
carrots,
cucumbers,
asparagus,
green
beans,
and
jalapeños,
all
of
which
were
good
(except
the
jalapeño,
which
we
were
both
too
scared
to
try)
and
with
subtle
differences
in
the
pickling.
Our
sandwiches
came
with
a
generous
amount
of
meat,
barely
contained
by
a
very
good
biscuit
-
maybe
not
as
fluffy
and
crumbly
as
some,
but
for
a
sandwich
these
are
just
the
thing.
The
brisket
was
tender
and
packed
with
flavor,
and
my
wife
enjoyed
the
pulled
pork
-
if
it’s
anything
like
Homeskillet’s
pullled
pork,
it’s
good
stuff
indeed.
While
I
didn’t
think
my
sandwich
needed
the
help,
I
did
try
some
of
the
barbecue
sauces
we
had
been
brought.
The
Betty’s
sauce
was
good,
but
the
Banjo’s
(Carolina
Gold-style)
was
excellent
with
the
brisket.
The
roasted
veg
was
good,
and
the
kale
in
particular
was
nice
and
tender.
I
also
tried
some
of
my
wife’s
mac
salad,
which
was
surprisingly
light
for
mac
salad.
Overall?
I’d
say
we’ll
have
to
come
back,
both
for
the
food
and
for
the
vibe.
Give
them
a
go
and
you’ll
understand
why.
