Do not stay here if you plan on sleeping! Trains are long and loud. They pass by less than 50 ft. from the hotel. The engines shake the room and sound like a bomb going off. 12:30am, 1:20am and 3am. A white noise machine would not help, nor would the earplugs. The hotel and room are lovely but not getting any sleep is not fun. When I complained, the manager said sorry. No attempt to make it better. The response (below) is worthless. They just refer it back to the hotel manager, who does nothing. I shouldn't have taken the time to respond to his/her response to my review.

Having stayed at various Hilton properties before, I must say my recent experience at this hotel left much to be desired. I expected to encounter the usual Hilton hospitality and Hilton-quality service, but unfortunately, that was not the case. The staff, especially in the restaurant, seemed indifferent and unhelpful, which is not what I am used to at Hilton-affiliated establishments. While the view from the hotel was decent, it didn't compensate for the lackluster experience overall. I was looking forward to the standard Hilton amenities and the genuine Hilton experience that usually makes these stays special. However, I didn't feel like this property truly lived up to the Hilton standards. Considering the price I paid, I believe I could have found better options in Bellingham that offer a more genuine Hilton experience. I hope the management will address these concerns and bring back the true essence of Hilton hospitality to this property

I had my wedding here and stayed overnight and I can’t recommend this hotel enough. The rooms are gorgeous and amazingly clean. The restaurant and catering staff are more than gracious and the food is wonderful. Alisa and Emily from banquet/catering were so kind and there for our every need and Dion the bartender creates beautiful and delicious cocktails. A definite must visit hotel

It's such a beautiful hotel! They warn you about train noise, and I was concerned when I saw earplugs in the room, but the noise is minimal, and the trains add to the charm of the location. The views are spectacular, we saw a sunset from our room. The restaurant on the property has flavourful options and a great setting overlooking the bay. The staff were very responsive and nice. The Koi pond in front was a great touch, and there are water features along the side as well. Love that it was pet friendly as well!

The Hotel Bellwether may be a better option for those searching for an elevated experience and warm hospitality. The staff is lackluster and jaded- not too friendly. I sat outside my the hotel as I waited for my room to be ready for over an hour. Just to describe the scene, I have a toddler and a nursing infant. We sat In the car. I called a couple times and the staff acted bothered every time I called. Finally, 10-15 min after the public was allowed to officially check in, I still didn’t have a room (04:10 pm). (My friend who isn’t a Hilton member got a room right away at 3 pm). Once in the room, there were pack-n-plays for the children but they were pretty filthy. Not worth “bothering front desk.” My friend spent her honeymoon night there and she didn’t receive any special treatment. I had to request to get her room cleaned. I could write a full review but I already think the reader must understand at this point. This hotel doesn’t go the extra mile. Gorgeous views though. Get a drink and save the money on overnight stay!

The spa is luxurious, clean, and lovely! I've received a few gifts in the form of services here, and I've had nothing but relaxing, enjoyable experiences! The therapists are polite, fun, considerate, and always make you feel welcomed and accommodated, no matter the service you're there for. The pricing is very reasonable for a full-service spa, and I hope to be back plenty of times in the future

This is an absolutely wonderful Hotel. The lobby is modern art meeting a classic lodge feel. It's truly eye candy to the an architectural lover. The room was large, has great amenities, and has amazing views of the harbor. Overall I highly recommend the Chrysalis for business or pleasure. This Hotel is definitely a gem that must be experienced to appreciate the experience it creates. I plan to return for another visit.

I was so excited to stay here - the view was stunning and honestly the room was amazing. It has a reading nook and a large bathtub. The biggest downfall is my room was right next to the train tracks. I figured out why they left ear plugs on the nightstands. It was so loud it woke me out of a dead sleep and they kept going all night. I slept horribly. Next time I'll know to stay on the other side of the hotel towards the street (I was in room 306). Other than that, it was extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. They have a small parking garage under the hotel but if you have a full size SUV you won't fit well.

Very nice hotel overlooking the Pacific. Really nice room with shower and tub separate(a really nice tub for taking baths) and a fireplace. Perfect for a romantic getaway or just general relaxation. Staff was super friendly and the On site restaurant was really good. Overall a very good hotel. The one negative thing is that it's very close to a train line(they do provide ear plugs) so it can be noisy at sporadic times during the day and night.

I first found this hotel while trying to find someplace special for a mother-daughter weekend. I am a Hilton diamond member and am always looking for great travel experiences for me and my kids. This hotel went above and beyond expectations! I just came back from my third stay with both of my kids, who are teen/tween age. They absolutely love it! There are amenities galore. The bay is beautiful, the rooms are beautiful... everything has a by-the-shore vibe. Emma at the front desk and Samantha at the restaurant, Keenan’s, are always so friendly and helpful every time we are there. Thank you, ladies! We’ll be back soon. P.S. The spa is lovely, but you should really book services a month in advance. The waitlist is a great option if you still have a week or two until your stay. Also, the train is VERY loud, but they do offer ear plugs. We are not-too-light sleepers and love watching the train go by right from our room!

**TRAINS PASS BY AT NIGHT** They have warnings on their website and at the front desk and the staff mentions it near every time they get. I like it! To me it sounds like a gentle knocking and at times I don't hear it at all. - The rooms are clean and beautifully designed for a calm and comfortable atmosphere. - The spa is comfortable and accommodating. - The food is alright.. edible? I would recommend the stay and walk downtown for food.

Free parking underneath or on street. Daily newspaper. Two televisions and one warm, cozy fireplace. Large bay seat which could double as a sleeping area. Discovered there was free coffee in the lounge seating downstairs. Great area to walk outside on a trail. Even walked about ten minutes to restaurants in Fairhaven to eat. Spacious Bayview room with the train track running right outside. They inform guests about the train on their website site and it's true- with trains nearly on the hour. It's part of Bellingham life. Onsite restaurant with happy hour.

We visited here for our anniversary in August. We stayed in a beautiful King Suite, overlooking the water. The staff was friendly and helpful with providing us with a little later check out. The only little thing, was the train right outside our room that began running very early in the morning. Regardless, we’ll visit again and then also try the spa services.

Terrific location overlooking Bellingham Bay, a water view room is worthwhile unless you don't like train noise. I like trains so for me was perfect. Room is well kept with some unique features. Restaurant and bar overlooking water. Close to bus line, not far from Amtrak and Alaska Ferry dock.

And he calls that horrible company and wa la !! REFUND!!!! Don't k ow how he did it but I am so thankful to him and his staff Just called back and made our reservation ( through the hotel this time) for a full weekend not just a day Anyone who goes out of there way like that deserves a attaboy and my eternal gratitude Thank you and you crew Tim ! The hotel and services are above perfect! The views and the food top notch. The five freight trains throughout the night made it so I could never stay there again. You would have to be a really sound sleeper or wear earplugs to get a good night’s sleep. Our fault for not believing the train warning on our room confirmation.

An excellent hotel in perfect location near Fairhaven. Our room was bay view and had a large window seat, and it was spectacular. A lot of attention to detail outfitting this room, it was superb and very comfortable. Everything worked, and the bed was super comfy. Very friendly and professional staff. Free undercover parking, but we never used the car because everything we wanted was walkable. Gym privileges at top rated local gym. Excellent restaurant and bar in the hotel -- we had several meals here, 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners. Normally I don't expect hotels to have a good restaurant, but this was a happy exception. Very professional restaurant staff, and top service. Our 3 night stay was perfect, and it felt like a one-week vacation. So relaxing. We didn't use the in-hotel spa, but it looked excellent. Highly recommended property!

Great hotel and service. Food was really tasty with nice portion sizes. Some parking in garage otherwise on street. Right on the water with a nice walking path over and alongside the coast line. Next to train tracks so you do get some occasional noise from trains. There are 2 chargepoint+ stations for EV's on the street right next to the hotel.

I've stayed at The Chrysalis Inn & Spa several times. It's one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had, to a point I'm choosing to treat myself for my 50th birthday next February. I'm a fine dining restaurant manager and know the difference between mediocre, acceptable, nice or fine establishments. Chrysalis is definitely a fine place with a fine staff in a fine location. I applaud the management for creating such fine establishment. I look forward to my stay and dining at their amazing restaurant in a few months. Most of the reviews with less than five stars apparently weren't happy with the train noise but If you're sensitive to noise, it's not fair to blame the hotel and give them only one star. You had the opportunity to read these reviews before making your decision to book.

ĂŤt was wonderful. Room had a fireplace, a big double tub and separate shower. Nice big windows to look out over the water with a window seat built for two. Talked with the spa staff, they were closing so I was unable to use their services. Closed on Mondays, so we will definitely be going back. The restaurant is attached to the hotel and the is superb. Underground parking and comfortable lounge area on the main floor.

Tremendous view in a spacious and comfortable room. This hotel is only three floors so the small feel was appreciated. I enjoyed the local craft beers at the bar. It was odd that they charge $5 for a water kettle and eating utensil delivery. They have guest passes for the full gym/tennis courts which is a short walk away.

Room had a fantastic view. I wouldn't change a thing about the room other than there being no microwave, which you have to call ahead for. The service was exceptional! Anya in the restaurant was definitely pleasant and a highlight of dining in the morning, very personable and friendly. The downside of the location is the train, which they post signs about and have on their website. There's even ear plugs in the room! I wish the train didn't come as frequently at night, but oh well. I'd return here for sure!

We were told at booking we'd get the top floor, the person said it would help reduce the amount of train noise, but we were assigned the first floor at check-in and it turns out, we definitely needed all the help we could get in that area. Although the hotel does warn of the noise and provide earplugs, nothing can really prepare you for how intense it is. The rooms are gorgeous, spotlessly clean, and have amazing views. I only wish they'd consider those upsidedown blinds, because we had to sacrifice the view when we needed privacy which was the majority of our stay (there's a walkway under the windows). Lastly, we did get a room in which the AC didn't work. The front desk brought us fans which helped. Overall a good experience, but maybe not for the amount we paid.

Hotel and staff are great. Room was beautiful and had an amazing view. But I can see how on many reviews the trains could be a problem. They seem to only run from about 10pm till 4am. Luckily I am a hard sleeper so it didn't bug me but if you are not, the hotel kindly provides ear plugs on the night stands. Would come again.

We've stayed here several times over the last couple years and have always been pleased. The rooms are clean and well appointed. They are near the boardwalk it always makes a nice stroll. The view is fantastic if you like the bay...and trains. So we are both railroad train fans. Saying that, if you are a rail fan too, you may really like it here as the trains pass very close. We noticed on the last visit that the train horns were not being sounded as they past directly by the property. But you'll hear the rumble. It's never been a problem for us, and they do provide ear plugs.

Since Hilton partnered with them they no longer have specials, so no break on the expense. Rooms are very nice and you cant beat the view. We were puzzled by the blue tape on bathroom wall corner that said "fix this" and when your neighbor fills their tub it sounds like a plumbing disaster in your room. We didn't mind the trains like some have mentioned and earplugs are provided. The front desk people are very nice and helpful. Not sure if we will stay here again due to the value for your money. See our separate 2 star review on Keenans at the Pier restaurant.

I cannot speak highly enough about The Chrysalis Inn from both the personnel and facility aspects. Absolutely everyone we came in contact with was as friendly and as helpful as could possibly be. The hotel itself is lovely with the location overlooking the coastline and the rooms extremely comfortable. Anything we requested was handled with a smile and their go above and beyond philosophy can really spoil you in a hurry. I love this place!!!!!

My daughter and I stayed at The Chrysalis Inn & Spa Bellingham, A Curio Collection for 8 nights while visiting my son. In addition, we had breakfast every morning, several lunches and several dinners at the hotel. The quality of the food was excellent. From the time I made the reservation over the phone until we checked out, we were treated with the highest regard by the front desk staff, the dining and room service staff, the cleaning staff and everyone with which we came into contact. We had a partial bay view, which was very nice, being able to see a sunset each night. The room was comfortable and clean, the large bathroom was very pretty with a convenient opening to the bedroom and the fireplace was such a nice touch. We enjoyed walking on the pier and being in such a beautiful environment. Parking was very convenient. Thank you very much for making our vacation very special.
