We had made a reservation for here, driving in from St. Louis, Mo. on 1-06-21. The winter storm developed into serious road hazards causing us to physically be unable to reach this location & I called this location back within the hour to let them know that due to the hazardous weather we were having to stay at a different location and they were unwilling to cancel/refund our reservation. Guest Customer Relations from Choice Hotels contact them as well & they still refused to cancel/refund the charge. Note: The Choice Hotel policy does have a clause that in times of a natural disaster the hotel reserves the right to make an exception to the 24 hour cancellation policy and they were unwilling to do so. This has made a very stressful & emotionally exhausting situation that much worse. I would hope that a business would have more compassion towards the safety of human life. I would strongly encourage this location to change their policy. We will not be staying at this Comfort Inn in the future nor would I advise anyone else to unless this is rectified. If this is rectified I will be happy to delete my review and contact Choice Hotels and have the complaint that is on file closed.

Hotel staff were very friendly. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast could have been better. Bacon so thin I could see through it. Location is right next to the interstate so there was some noise but ear plugs eliminated it.

I stayed at this property twice recently while passing through. Easy check in and a very good value for the price paid. The room was clean, modern and up to date. Breakfast was average but good. The property itself as a whole was clean modern and up to date. I can't think of anything negative regarding my stays recently. I was pleasently surprised and would recommend this property and will stay at this again each time I pass through the area.

Very clean, bed was hard but I still slept good, breakfast isn't a buffet, they have waffles, oatmeal, yogurt, prepackaged boiled eggs, and some little muffins. The juice machine is terrible. Still a nice place, breakfast buffet is not true. What's the difference in what you offer and having cooked eggs and other food offerings? Food doesn't spread covid.

Worst experience I have ever had! Double charged my debit card with no explanation as to how this could happen. When approached staff was curt and basically dismissive saying "they knew of the problem but couldn't help"!!! I have been left with a sour taste in my mouth and a double charge of $379.00 on a debit card!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE lest you take the chance of being treated the same way!!!!! I have not screamed at anyone!!! No one explained that I would be double charged on my DEBIT card when I checked!!! You have fabricated this situation trying to save face for your property!!! I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you personally to discuss!!!!

My room had a very terrible smell when I came to work with my company. The staff never comes to the front desk unless it’s super late at night. The staff is very sweet we had the nicest young redheaded lady help us out with everything, offer for us to play beer pong in the lobby & even came and had some drinks with us. Overall it was an okay experience. If you’re looking for a nice stop and good time.

The employees were very nice, the beds were comfortable and clean and a request for additional blankets was taken care of promptly. The rates were reasonable too! This was my second visit and I do look forward to returning next year.

The room looked, smelled, and felt clean. The bed was comfortable and the room’s temperature was pleasant (and easily adjustable). The staff was friendly and accommodating. The value was great and the location was perfect for our needs.

Took a bit for someone to come to the front desk. Our room had a very odd smell, and our bedding had stains and some sort of crust orange substance. We arrived kind of late so we didn’t ask for another room, we removed the bedding instead. Bed was comfy at least, hotel is in a convenient location and it was quite.

Very clean rooms, nice staff and very convenient location. We booked 2 rooms for a few days for a family outing. We all loved it. 5 star all the way. I will come again.

Friendly customer service. Convenient location off the interstate. Clean rooms and they had good gravy and biscuits with the continental breakfast. This location is 20 minutes from Wheeling Island Casino.

Staff was very polite. Hotel was clean. Small continental breakfast looked good. We didn't eat there so I don't know how the food tasted. The people who were eating seemed to enjoy it.

Needed a place to stay for the night after a long drive. Came by this place by sheer luck. Very clean and very friendly, even at 2am when we checked in. Definitely a pleasant surprise! Glad to have stayed here.

Excellent hotel with clean facilities and rooms, and friendly and helpful staff. Had the best breakfast service we experienced compared to the other hotels on our trip costing almost twice as much. Easy access to St. Clairsville and Martins Ferry.

I visit Steubenville frequently, and this is my favorite place to stay on those trips. The half hour drive to St. Clairsville is more than justified by a consistently positive experience at this hotel. For a surprisingly low nightly rate, you get a comfortable, clean, and quiet room. The staff is always courteous and the facilities are beautifully maintained. There are nice little touches too, like flavored water and cookies in the lobby in the evening. In my experience, Comfort Inns and other Choice hotel brands tend to be hit or miss, but this particular location is a consistent hit on every visit.

Genuinely impressed. Very affordable rate. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was hot and fantastic. Room was clean and clearly well taken care of. I highly recommend if you're passing through.

I travel across east coast weekly so I visit a lot of hotels. And most of them sadly, are pretty worn down, dirty, smell like weed/smoke, have bed bugs, ect. So all In all I usually don't care to review any hotels we stay in cause its not worth my time to give a 1 star review. It wouldn't change anything with those hotels. And usually people stay there cause its dirt cheap. But this place? This place is nice, i love how the hallways smell like fall to me, and everything is so clean and nice. The breakfast was so meticulously taken care of by whoever does it you could tell they take their job seriously or at least care about it. I had a wonderful night's sleep in the comfy beds and the pillows were just the right mix of fluffy and firmness that I like. I of course didn't pay for this hotel, as work did, but I would highly encourage this place if you want a nice clean pleasant hotel to enjoy your night with. This place deserves this review as far as I am concerned.

The room was clean and comfortable! They even have brand name tea in the rooms! The breakfast was great with the delicious omelets vs the typical scrambled eggs. A great variety of other breakfast items! The staff is friendly and helpful! I wish all the other more expensive choice hotel locations would take a lesson from this location and step up their game!! This location is a hidden gem!! Don’t let their economical price scare you! They are 100% in our “WILL stay here again list”

This is a great hotel. We are from northern Illinois two hours north of Chicago. This is our fourth stay here. Not consecutive due to last year's issues. However, we do a lot of road trips and this has to be one of the cleanest comfort inns we have stayed at. A huge plus that the shower has an adjustable shower head so you have great water pressure! That's something that most hotels lack. This is definitely our go to down here! Kudos to them for keeping it up! Only reason I only gave four stars is bc the parking lot is small and can be a little challenging to get out, but 100% worth it!

Very clean, staff extremely friendly. The ambiance was festive and beautifully decorated for Christmas. If anyone is going to The Festival of Lights in Oglesby this is the perfect place to stay. I highly recommend it.

Manager seems to have no training. After I and my husband, who recently had a severe stroke, tried to stay in two different rooms that reeked of sewer and left the same night requested a refund, didn't hear back from the manager in 3 days so left a message that we would be contacting Choice Hotels if we didn't hear from her. We got a message that our money was refunded. Then got a letter stating we were no longer welcome at the hotel. I wonder if the other families who complained also got a letter. If you're looking for great customer service this is NOT the place for you. We've stayed here many times and have had a good amount of mold in a handicapped accessible shower and on the bath chair, a bad musty smell from the heater, what looked like blood on a comforter, and old plug-ins in the hallways to try to mask the smells. Hard to believe that Choice Hotels tolerates this. I plan on contacting Choice Hotels about it.
