Not even done eating and I just had to review this restaurant! The food is amazing… totally authentic and delicious… but even more, his joy of cooking really comes thru the food. This guys vibe is amazing, can’t wait to come back!

Was excited to eat here after reading the reviews but left completely disappointed. The service was good but the food left a lot to be desired. Based on the reviews I was expecting authentic Indian curries but these were all so bland, to the extent that some curries actually tasted sugary and were inedible. Might suit the palate of locals but most definitely is not an authentic Indian experience.

Great food, reasonably priced. You'll keep coming back. Mohan is an absolute legend. I once showed up while he was closing, but fulfilled my order without a grimace. Still got served really good food. I've been a regular ever since. Worth the wait, especially when the Rotis and Naans are served hot & fresh. Highly recommended for vegetarians too.

It’s my go to place. When you feel hungry just visit this place. A way reasonable than many Indian restaurants in Geelong.

Beautiful food. Delicious and hot. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. My husband raved that it was his best Indian meal in ages! Thanks to the Cafe Taj Express. We will definitely order again when we are visiting Geelong.

Best pranthas we have ever had. Owner and operator (Mohan) is such a hard working person and made us fresh pranthas that were really good. Read some of the negative reviews and to be fair its a Cafe and menu is not extensive but food tasted really nice and fresh. No food colouring was used as most Indian restaurants do these days. We visited this Cafe for the first time as we were just travelling by and to be honest didn't expect the great quality food that we were served. Small business who takes pride in their work. Will highly recommend to anyone whose after yummy pranthas and snacks 🙂

Great food - we loved all the food we had today. The Owner/Chef - Mohan's cooking was excellent, each dish made meticulously and with great taste and flavour. Their customer service was excellent and don't miss their Masala Tea. We live 2 hours away, but will most certainly take time to come again and again.

Worst goat curry I've had in my life, the flavor was lacking and completely wrong. You couldn't pay me to eat here again. The service was lovely but the food was awful.

Amazing service and great food. Best value for money you can get. Highly recommend if you're looking for some homey food. We had a lot of food and was surprised by how cheap the final bill was. The owner let us customise the thalis to get the curries we wanted and swap out rotis for naans. We were a large group, but still got our food fairly quickly.

Excellent food. The owner was very friendly and made sure I got my meal freshly prepared and steaming hot. Definitely going back when I'm in the area 🤗 Great value too

I recently visited Cafe Taj with my wife. I had a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend this place. I was surprised that they make fresh sugarcane juice as well. We had one and it was so amazing. They offer the best of food that is absolutely clean. We got a chance to see pictures from different places in Nepal, especially Darchula. As the owner was Nepalese, we had a great time with him. We had freshly cooked naan bread and Puri which was fabulous and tasty. I remember eating back in Nepal. I appreciate their warm hospitality and is undoubtedly quite delicious. Great Place for Nepalese and Indian food. We will be back again soon for sure.

Amazing and authentic food. And the best customer service. We requested some changes and he was happy to accomodate for that for no extra charge. And let us try extra as well.

We were a group of 10 people but the service was quite fast and the food was delicious and freshly made! Loved the thaali, especially the naan and the eggplant potato dish! Would recommend 10/10!!
