I don't even know where to begin. I brought Mike 3 types of wedding bands that I had gotten through 33 years of marriage. One was cut, it had been on my finger when I smashed my finger. The other one was my five year band, it was attached to the wedding band that was cut. The third was all that I had. I really had no idea of what I wanted, just that I needed one ring that I could wear, and my husband approve. Mike came up with several ideas, all were great. We ended up with a ring fit for a queen!! He quoted me a price, which was accurate and a time frame that was perfect. I had gone to Kay's to get a price, and trust me, they quoted me $5500-6500 just to fix one. NO LIE. Mike walked me through the process, and even sent me a picture of what to expect, pictures don't do my ring justice. When I went to pick my ring up, I was shocked and overwhelmed and the pure beauty of it, I actually could not believe it was mine. I will go to Mike for all of my jewelry need, my mom will go, and I am going to get eye glasses for my husband. He is the greatest and most patient person I have ever known in any business situation. I had a great experience picking out my new glasses and lenses. It was great looking through some vintage pairs along with newer frames. I picked a vintage pair, that Mike helped me with, and I love them!!! The time from picking out to picking up was FAST!! I will definitely being going back! I wanted my wedding ring made into a necklace. I had another jeweler attempt to and was not happy. Mike was amazing! He had patience and continued to work his magic till we got my pendant perfect!!

Look no further! This is where you want to go for your engagement ring. Mike was INCREDIBLE. We went in with a few ideas and to get sized but quickly realized that Hurst was our first and last stop. Mike gave us so much of his time, by the time we left I felt I had taken a master class in wedding bands. I never felt pressured to like something that wasn’t “me.” I wanted a truly different look and that’s what I got! From the diamond color, cut, clarity to the setting and metal; he was so thorough. He ordered a few diamonds with my ring in mind. We came in a second time to choose “the one” before it was sent in to production. There was a slight hiccup with manufacturing but Mike was on top of it. He was our advocate the entire time. I never worried about my ring getting lost in the chaos because Mike truly made us feel like we were his only customers. You could never get that level of care at a national jeweler. Update: I went in to see Mike because my neuro-opthamologist told me a month or so ago that my blurry/fuzzy vision wasn't due to my neuromuscular disease. He said the optical center of my lenses was off and here I'd thought the former for more than a year. I told Mike I'd understand if there was nothing he could do because it'd been so long, but he said he'd call the company and see what he could do. Before you know it, the glasses were gone and back and I picked them up this past weekend. WOW! I can see so clearly now, it's almost scary. (Happy Halloween) What I want to emphasize, though, is that Mike went to bat for me and did right by me. No, the customer isn't always right, but when we are - Mike will be there. Thanks, Mike. Not only had I not seen many, if not all, of the frames Hurst had in their store, Mike recommended I get Chemistre sun clips, for a lot less than a pair of prescription sunglasses. They put magnets on your lenses and on the clips, so when you place them near your glasses, they pop right on, hold tight and look just like a pair of sunglasses. How ingenious! This boutique store with excellent personalized service from the owner, Mike Hurst, a third generation local KC jeweler, is as trustworthy as they come. I like to support and develop a relationship with small family owned businesses. I loved the selection of eyewear and bought several pairs for both my wife and myself. Prices are great and can accommodate any budget. Will be back for jewelry as well. Highly recommend.

I bought a ring online and didn't measure my finger correctly. Mike was so nice when I came in to get it resized. He was super informative of the process and how it may go if the ring I bought elsewhere wasn't the metal it claimed to be on the site. He got it resized quickly and when my hand swelling meant it still didn't fit properly, he had it fixed. Every time I went in he was super friendly and he kept me updated through the process.
