After hearing how close this was and having not been there, today was the day to fix that. The interior was nicer than we first expected and we were able to sit right away. Decided on a plate of crispy tacos (with fajita beef) and a burrito (chicken fajita meat this time.) I will say that the house salsa is perfect. I just wish there was more in a bowl. You see, I would consider Taco Cowboy good casual fare. I would easily take this to go on a picnic. So, the salsa coming in a small Styrofoam cup is great for a to go order or picnic but not so much for dining in. The meat on the tacos and burrito were very good...great sear on the beef. The beans were neither over-seasoned nor under-seasoned. Overall, we liked the food and service. We will definitely be back. We will mix it up a little next time. Ask for extra salsa, do a quesadilla with the fajita beef or go just go with ground beef and try taking it all on a picnic. We saw a family coming from the lake with their boat just to have nachos and I can see us enjoying, tacos in hand, saying adios to a beautiful sunset in central Texas.

upon walking into the establishment, my sense of smell that i had lost due to covid suddenly came back due to the smell of quality hispanic food. i ordered a Horachata and a al pastor torta, a horachata drink is always my go to drink, and this place has the best horachata it was so milky and with a hint of cinnamon. i sat and waited for my food and instantly was brought back in a memory of being a kid again. i had to buy two more LARGE ! Unwrapping the al pastor torta and taking a bite into that buttery soft bun i melted back into my seat and hands down this is the closest place i can get food that tastes just like home. Most definitely you got a customer for life.

Not bad. I think this place grills their meats outside? Had a grilled/smoky flavor that was ok at first, but the more and more I ate, I didn't care for it. Just didn't fit the flavor profile I like in my Mexican food. They were very courteous and nice, though. I would definitely say you should at least give them a try. Just wasn't my cup of tea.

We had waited for this spot to open up for a while and we finally stopped in one evening right before they closed. Even with there only being about 10 minutes left before closing, the wait staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was served on disposable plates to include the chips and salsa which is a bit different but it didn't take away from the taste of the food. I had shrimp and steak and it was all well cooked. They do not have a liquor license and not having a margarita with your fajitas may be a problem for some and I agree it would add to the experience but not a deal breaker for me.

Our first time having a lunch date here and the food & hospitality was AMAZING! Not very many restaurants in the area can call themselves Authentic Mexican food. But Taco Cowboy is very authentic and it was as if we were eating our grandmas food. The tortillas both flour and corn were made to perfection. The Menudo was served in a big bowl, that it was more than enough for one person. I also ordered the enchilada and garne guisado plate and it was all delicioso! I will say that we needed more salsa, since it is given in a small syrofoam cup. Thank you for the excellent service.

We got 4 different menu items, which were more than enough for 2 meals for 2 of us. The food was delicious, nice and clean environment and friendly staff. We didn't have to wait long for our food and it was reasonably priced.

Excellent food with really good chips and salsa. My wife and I have eaten here twice since opening and plan on making it a weekly stop.

Pretty good food. Good prices. One plate fed my husband and me. He said the mango margarita was yummy.
