Dr Carter seems to be a very knowledgeable doctor and experienced. But here is why I am switching doctors: I always felt very rushed by Dr Carter during my appointments, as if I was imposition. She seemed to rush through my skin cancer exam leaving me with no great confidence would catch an issue. If I asked about anything other than the skin care exam it was met with a look of, I don’t have time for that. I have seen many dermatologist through the years and never have I felt that my skin related questions were unwelcomed at my appointment. Also, the front desk staff is not very friendly. They seem to have a mind set that the patients are a bother. When I missed phone call cancelling my appointment and showed up to what I thought was my appointment time, they next available appointment was in 6 months. That is really unacceptable, no patient should have to wait 6 months for an appointment. I do not feel valued as a patient and will be finding a new doctor in town.

Dr. Carter has always shown great professionalism - is personable and caring. Have known her for four years. She helped me with a very difficult rash/hives condition that lasted for months and months. She's the best!

My son is 8yrs old and has had issues with eczema and other skin issues since he was a baby. I was taking him to his pediatrician for it but not getting any results. I decided to try Deschutes Dermatology and couldn’t be happier with the outcome! Dr. Baxter is amazing, she has helped him so much and makes him feel comfortable talking about his symptoms. I highly recommend them and want other parents to know they are great with kids not just adults.

I was in extreme pain due to psoriatic arthritis and needed to be seen soon. I was able to get an appointment right away with Heidi Holmes. She was wonderful. Prescribed multiple medicated lotions for me and my skin felt better within days ! Staff is extremely friendly. Office is beautiful. Highly recommend !! 😊

Everyone is so nice and friendly from the minute you walk in until you leave. The providers explain exactly what & how they plan to do the biopsy, no surprises. Have always had great care. Super Dr & staff.

Dr. Carter is the absolutely best doctoriof any kind that I know in Central Oregon. Standing around in my underwear while someone peers at every inch of my skin thru a literal magnifying lens is NOT my happy place. Dr. Carter's professionalism and easy approach makes it comfortable and I trust her completely to take care of my skin.

Dr. Carter is great! She actually listens to the history of the patient's issue rather than jumping to conclusions immediately, and moves forward with ruling out conditions before proceeding with a treatment plan. I feel fortunate that I found Dr. Carter. I have been to other dermatologists for hair loss and they didn't even look at my scalp, and then proceeded to send me away without a treatment plan.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Carter annually for years. I believe she is the best Dermatologist in Bend. In addition, her entire staff is friendly, efficient, and very attentive to our needs. We highly recommend Deschutes Dermatology.

Dr Carter is amazing!! She is thorough, has a great bed-side manner, and has a great sense of humor. The staff is friendly. And I love the interaction between Dr. Carter and the staff….she explains things to them as she’s doing it and publicly encourages her staff with positive feedback.

Every aspect of the visit was top notch. I showed up early, so they took me in early. The prep history confirmation was clear and professional. Dr. Carter assessed everything quickly and with absolute expertise, recommending a treatment that was less invasive and less expensive that expected. This is the premiere dermatology check up you could hope for. 11 out of 10 for me.
