Perhaps we had the wrong expectations based on the reviews and prices, or maybe we caught them on a bad night, but the sushi was really disappointing. The quality of the fish was decent, but the rice and poor construction ruined it. The rice was totally unseasoned (no vinegar, maybe not even salt) and there was too much of it, which was a huge disservice to the expensive nigiri and rolls. If I were served this sushi without context, I would think it came from a grocery store. Service and ambiance were excellent but were sadly crushed under a frankly overpriced mound of bland rice.

Sushi sucks, very bland. Wagyu was insanely over cooked, could barley bite through it. Over priced. Service was less than mediocre. People in Bend wouldn’t know good food if it sat on their face. I tried this restaurant 7 years ago and had the same experience.

Enjoyed the meal and the attention to detail the staff had with covid protocols. The staff wears gloves to remove used dishes and the bathroom door handle was altered to be pull open entry and exit with a foot hook. Impressive. The rolls were great, desert chocolate cake with a fish was in the cutest bowl, and the unique beers were a fun try. The table was smaller so it was a bit tricky to balance the arriving dishes but with team work we all managed haha!

5 Fusion & Sushi Bar is a very nice place to eat. The interior is very clean with an upscale atmosphere, and an extensive wine list to match. I ordered the Steve McQueen roll and it was fantastic, and the miso soup was rich and flavorful beyond the standard. It's location in a quaint riverfront shopping district only adds to the hip vibe of the restaurant. Definitely check it out!

Stopped in town for my birthday dinner. We sat at the bar and bartender was super attentive and the service was really fast. Their Shogon roll was too good, I added spicy mayo on the side and it was super yummy. Highly recommend and leaving a review to remember the place next time I’m in the town! (:

Absolutely the BEST in bend. Spot on for food, drinks , and service. Sasha (owner) and Jason (GM) truly care about your experience here. Our server was Josh and he is great as well. Everything is FRESH and flavorful. We LOVE the negi hama, hearts of palm, spicy Celine roll, and banafe(desert), but everything is good. Just close your eyes and pick a random item and you will still be happy. We also recommend the botanist drink. Super refreshing. Enjoy!

Update 10/2023. Still awesome with great service. Fresh food. And good cocktails. Cool, stylish atmosphere with food and service to match. Clean and inviting throughout with upscale lighting and decor. Sushi was diverse and expertly prepared. Service was great with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Prices are a little high, but portions and quality are worth it.

Beautiful environment, best service all employees were friendly and happy to help! Beautiful presentation on drinks and dishes……However, their price of sushi is not worth it, their sushi I give a three star granted my husband and I are used to Southern California coast line, sushi, where everything is fresh we asked for a RAW wasabi. The waitress said that they had it. She brought us out a different brand of wasabi, but it was not raw Wassabi.. they said the uni was fresh “very fresh” it was orange and almost to the point of being slimy (fresh uni is yellow slimy means its bad) honest to God the most impressive place in Central Oregon to get sushi is mio sushi if you really truly know sushi, you can definitely respect that place, and how fresh everything is for being in Central Oregon!

I had to write a review on this place. Our family of five was visiting Oregon for the first time and we were craving sushi. As my husband and I started researching reviews on all the places, we started coming to the realization that we were probably going to be settling for some very mediocre sushi. One place that had great reviews was a food truck, another one specialized in conveyer belt sushi (🤢), and another required reservations and a $10 deposit per person just to make a reservation. Somehow we found Five Fusion and starting reading reviews and looking at pictures posted by other diners. It was a Wednesday night and we called and got a reservation no problem. The bottom floor was fully reserved but they got us a great table on the second level for 5:30pm. We wanted an earlier time since we were bringing our toddler along with us. When we walked in we were shocked at how beautiful the restaurant was. It had a rectangle of water that travels the length of the entire ceiling that looks so cool from the bottom and upper level. The servers/hosts were all so professional and kind, our waters were never empty and empty plates were cleared so promptly. Most importantly, the sushi was seriously some of the best sushi we've ever had. My husband and 12 year old shared a double order of oysters which they loved. We ordered about 7 rolls and 5 orders of nigiri and every single roll was beautiful and delicious. The fish was incredibly fresh. Even our toddler gobbled up two plates of sliced avocado, some tofu cubes and all of his miso from his sippy cup lol. Seriously, we can't recommend this place enough. We paid a lot but we ordered a lot and it was my husabnd's birthday so perfect occasion. Next time we visit Bend we know exactly where we will be dining. Big thanks to this restaurant and the staff for an amazing dining experience on our last night of our vacation.

Took my husband to try this place out for his birthday dinner. The food was excellent though quite expensive. service was a little slow but friendly. The bathrooms were oddly dirty and decorated for such a refined front of house and you have to cross through the expo area to get there which was awkward. We had a good time though and may be back in the future. I didn’t get a chance to try the drinks but they looked amazing.

The atmosphere at the restaurant is excellent. The photos on the wall are quite unique as well as the water feature above the main dining area. The service was excellent as was the food, especially the beef spare ribs. The location right downtown is perfect. We were quickly greeted as we entered, they knew we had a reservation right away and the server was friendly and quite attentive.

Sushi here was really good, if not a bit pricey, and service was excellent. Nice downtown Asian vibe. We did not make reservations but got seated immediately. They have a really cool overhead light that is filled with water and gives a shimmery effect to the ground. Definitely recommend.

I definitely recommend going here. The restaurant was very beautiful, the food was great, I definitely enjoyed the food the dessert was phenomenal! If you do go there definitely make a reservation because it does get booked out for the night quickly✨

The sushi was very good. The hot food was also good but be sure to keep an open mind some of the combinations sounded a little odd but tasted great. We had the Ramen.

Based on the prices, I had high expectations than the pretentious, yet mediocre, sushi which was presented. My wife and I shared 4 orders of nigiri, 1 roll, and tea which rung up a 100 dollar bill. If the sushi was out of this world good, I'd understand, but as I chewed on the sushi-go-round grade fish while staring at their "avant garde" photography made with a basic application of Photoshop's clone stamp tool, whilst sipping on a $5 "tea bag from a box" green tea, my dissatisfaction grew more and more. The wait staff, while friendly, got our roll order wrong and most of their "special rolls" weren't even that interesting. Mostly tempura something and avocado. No combinations of fish or ingredients which accentuate the flavors of the fish. On top of that, my wife and I were constantly interrupted by a bus boy who was so bored he kept filling up our waters even though we had only drink 1/5 of it or any time we had an empty plate. It was super awkward. I think half the price would be adequate value and I would have given a 3 or 4, but for $100 worth of appetizer we left hungry and disappointed. We ended our evening at McMenamins with a $14 burger (same price as 1 order of nigiri lol) which was an absolute banger of a burger (and is coming from a guy who cooks). This is simply not worth the price no matter how hard they try to fancy it up.

Red flag when their sashimi is farmed fish. This isn’t the Midwest, an Oregon sushi restaurant should be able to get wild salmon and not over charge for Atlantic Salmon.

Business lunch vibes with too bright lighting and elevator jazz music playing. Service was good, reserved and not very warm though. Food was OK. Kind of bland and not very exciting or balanced.

This is a great sushi restaurant in downtown Bend. They have a great variety of rolls, specialty drinks and desserts to choose from. The quality of the sushi is excellent as well as the size of the portions. We are thankful that even though we have Covid-19 relates restrictions, we can still dine in. Masks are required to enter, hand sanitizer is available at each table and staff follows all the preventive measures mandated. Definitely a great place to try.

You cannot go wrong with any choice on the menu. Everything was beyond delicious and generous in portion size. From their sushi rolls to their risotto and seaweed salad. Worth every penny. Will be coming back.
