Fun little walk/hike. You can take the paved path all the way or walk on dirt. Toilets available at the top and bottom. Free parking. Beautiful views all 360 degrees. This must have been THE make-out spot back in the day. About 2.5 miles from the parking lot to the top and back.

5 golden stars! way Kool ! Best walking trail ever. a brass directional dial in the center helps your navigation skills when you're down in the lower traffic like landmarks everything seems to be around the center of that hill, while in town go up there in the early morning or in the early evening as it can be awesome on full moon nights and the blood moon with your telescope

Gorgeous view in a full 360 panorama! The day we went had incoming storm clouds so our distance was limited, but it was still amazing! There is a 1-mile hiking trail from the bottom to the top as well as a paved access road all the way to the top. Plentiful parking at the top, including bathrooms. Absolutely worth the short trip to get there!

Amazing spot. How often do you get to drive to the top of a volcano that is located within the middle of a city?! Nice little spiral road to the top. Parking lot above with 360 degree views of the Cascade Mountain range. You can see Mt Hood in the north all the way down to the Mulberry Volcano in the south. Awesome spot and a cool large circle diagram in the middle that tells you exactly which Mountain is where and how far away. Free and always worth the visit!

The Good- This is a great and underused park. You can leave your car at the base or the summit which is nice (though only leave for a little while please). Sunset photos to come.

Awesome walk, jog or drive. Killer view points. But let’s clean up after ourselves. My brother and I picked up about 20 pieces of trash from cans and bottles to loose pieces of notebook paper all less than 10 ft. from the metal look over fence. Easily pointed out our house, fun to look for places you know. Next time I will post pictures.

This is a nice trail. The climb is a good workout, but there are paved and gravel options and the grade is never grueling. The views on clear days are quite nice.

A nice short walk up the hill. We did the dirt pass one and it was pretty. The smoke from fires was still obscuring everything in distance but it was still enjoyable. Good informational signs at the top.

Very good place to see the buttes and mountains. The landscape is amazing. It's closed to cars when it snows.

What a pleasant experience save for the smoke from the Fall Creek fire. The views would be much better without the haze. This town is full of nice outdoor rec options. I could live here for a few months if not a lifetime. The folks are chill and the design of this town makes me want to contribute something to the endeavor. It’s so inspirational that one could write a song or ten about this place but we’d call it Alabama so everybody would move there instead. Actually, Mississippi needs an influx of folks and money more so.

Really great place to get a 360 degree view of the whole area. Views of the mountains, Bend, Smith Rock, so much more. I drove up there very slowly since there were lots of people walking up for a great workout. Highly recommended.

It was so good getting up here and seeing the surrounding countryside. You can park at the bottom and hike up or drive up to the top and walk around. The road is narrow so go slow and let the driver focus on the road while the passengers take in the sights because there are no barriers.

Great views of the Volcanos in the Bend area. Visited for sunset and returned in the morning but found that it doesn't open till 10:00 a.m.

If you want the best view of Bend and far away mountains too, this is the place to go. There is a large metal directional sign at the top showing which mountain / volcano you are looking at. On a clear day you can see Mount Hood.

This was a nice place to visit. They have trails and wonderful scenery. I think it’s well worth a little detour to take in the beautiful views from the top.

Great 360 degree views of the area. Hike was pretty basic, although few folks can say they’ve climbed to the top of an actual volcano… Pilot Butte is a cinder cone butte, and is a one of only volcanos that exist within a city boundary in the U.S.

It's a nice walk up to the viewpoint and at the very center you will find a compass that shows you all the peaks visible.
