Location is great and service is good but the facility is TERRIBLE. I seriously have no idea why they have such good reviews. The whole place is dirty and so many things are broken. The shower drain is clogged with hair and towels smell bad, just to name a few (attaching pictures). The staff/guests simply do not know what the quiet hours are. Couldn’t sleep all night because people were chatting so loud all night outside the window and have no respects for other guests. Would not recommend this place other than its location and decent customer service. Terrible experience

I really want to like this place. It’s the dictionary definition of “chill hipster vibes”, from the friendly staff to the great location to the food trucks, sauna and live music/bar on the patio. Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing though - I hate to say it, but I can only recommend this hostel if you’re looking for a bar that lets you sleep there after last call. I stayed Friday and Saturday nights, on Friday an inebriated resident set off the fire alarm at 2:30 AM and staff struggled to understand the security system, eventually getting help from a different resident to turn it off. That’s an understandable mistake, but it didn’t seem like the staff were very prepared. On Saturday the “ladies’ night” went past the scheduled end time (10 PM), past the posted hostel quiet hours (11 PM) and into the late night (ending at 1 AM). To their credit the hostel has a bowl of earplugs available, but those don’t help much for a room-shakingly loud, bass-heavy DJ set in the backyard. Overall the staff were friendly but absent a lot of the time, including night hours. If “hike all day, party all night, repeat” sounds fun - this is a good place for you. For everyone else (especially people trying to travel/start hikes early), don’t stay here and expect to sleep much. This is a less of a hostel, more of a bar that happens to have beds.

I LOVE this place! The vibe is so good here, with great community and super cool hangout spaces outside and country home cozy inside. I love the outdoor nooks built with thick live edge slabs and the enormous picnic table with huge butterfly joints and fire pit. The sauna was the cleanest I’ve ever experienced! The whole facility very clean! We booked a private room, the large bed was very comfortable. The bunk was pretty squeaky settling in and I was a bit worried, good thing the sleepers of the bunks were both sound sleepers and we all slept great, met inspiring people and enjoyed our stay.

What a beautiful place to visit on a warm Saturday night! We weren't even guests (we just came for the food trucks), but we were also greeted with live music from local bands and a great selection of local beers on tap. Next time we're in Bend, we are coming back!!

Flight was diverted to Bend and booked a private room (shared bath) for the night. Though I'm older than the typical hostel traveler it was extremely welcoming and friendly, very easy to strike up conversations, including with a fascinating 67-year-old completing the pacific crest trail (!). The courtyard and food/beer trucks are great and not just for guests. Highly recommended.

Best place for travelers to stop for rest, recovery, and new friends. From van life to pct hikers, deals are offered for nomadic folk across the board. They pride themselves in hospitality and kindness, and are more than welcoming to all manner of people!

Where to start with Bunk+Brew..... First off, it was an awesome place! The staff was super friendly and very helpful. More often then not, they felt more like casual acquaintances, rather than B+B staff. Speaks to the overall comfort of the hospitality. We stayed in a single room queen/full bed suite and it was a great room. You can tell the building is historically old, but the charm of the house is warming and great to be in. The bathrooms were never an issue, the noise was never an issue - everyone seemed to really abide by the 11pm - 11am quiet hours. It was great to have the option to keep our food/beverages in the fridge, and label them as our own. People were respectful in leaving them alone. There was always something going on in the evening/night at B+B and made for an easy entertainment venue to enjoy prior to leaving for a night out or quick pit stop to change. The food trucks and bar behind the building are amazing, great selection of beers and food that are at your immediate access. One cool unexpected thing was the additional bathroom/sauna house in the backyard. That made the stay even more enjoyable from a hostile setting. You never felt like you were cramped up or consistently bumping into other people. I would highly recommend staying here if you're traveling through Bend or coming for a weekend! This is probably the most affordable stay in Bend. Last but not least, the location of B+B is hard to beat. You can literally walk to downtown in less than 10 minutes. It is a very walkable location.

Location is excellent only short walk to river, bars, food, and shopping I have stayed at a lot of hostels and i can tell they try very hard to keep everything from bathrooms to rooms to common area clean. And they do a great job. They front "lobby" was a little musty but not terrible. Service was great they were all helpful and informative. They have two food trucks and a beer truck in the back with live music sometimes and a dancefloor. LOVED the dancing and live music. Good people to which is important. 5 starts:)

The staff were really friendly, great atmosphere, tasty food truck in the back, the outside area was very fun and inviting with a DJ playing some dance music. Not sure if it was the holiday but the clientele was mostly younger people having a good time til midnight or so. If you're looking for a real quite place to unwind this might not be for you, but if you're looking for a welcoming place to hang your hat while you explore Bend and the surrounding areas this is a great place to stop!

We went here for a concert. Neat place! It's very welcoming to all walks of life. Typical Bend! Did not stay at the hotel, but it appears to cater to all types of people. However, I would suspect that it's more for the 20s and early 30s crowd.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. First time stay in a hostel, solo female, felt very safe. Staff was great, food & beer trucks added to the super fun atmosphere. Great location for walking around downtown Bend as well. I only planned to be in Bend one night but stayed an extra night because of this place. I definitely plan to come back with friends.

This was by far my favorite hostel where I stayed! Why? Well for one, the staff is incredibly accommodating and welcoming. They make you feel at home within your first steps in the hostel. They also have a food/beer truck and live music in their "backyard" with ample seating (including hammocks) so you can make the most of your stay. If I could, I would go back and stay for a week or longer. Highly recommend!

I came through the Bunk and Brew on my snowboarding road trip and this was the BEST stop on it. The hostel vibes are amazing and the staff are all incredibly welcoming, inclusive and generally good people. I left after a week and ended up coming back for a second tour because I loved it so much. Not many(any?) hostels have a bathhouse with a sauna and it was the perfect après activity. Not only is there a bathhouse but a beer garden and food trucks in the back with live music and fun events that are going on constantly, the community they've built is amazing and I can't recommend the Bunk and Brew enough. I can't wait to return as soon as possible as I've heard summer time is even more fun!

This was a gem of a hostel to stay in. I stayed over Thanksgiving weekend and the hostel hosted a fabulous Thanksgiving potluck! The staff was very helpful and welcoming the entire duration of my stay. Loved the complimentary drinking ticket. Sauna was bomb! Only complaint was that the rooms upstairs were.a bit cold-- temps outside were freezing when I was there. I suggest space heaters if the house temp cannot be changed. Overall, I loved it and would return again!

Incredible staff, great community. Good place if you want to meet new people or just have space for yourself. Areas were clean and inviting. Well-stocked kitchen supplies, amazing sauna, showers, laundry, wifi, cozy living room with endless entertainment, instruments, and nice outdoor spaces. Staff go above and beyond to ensure you are comfortable and they put on a lot of fun events to gather people together. Have options to just use facilities for the day for a great price or stay for longer periods. Many people I talked to expressed this is one of the best hostels they have stayed at!

Bunk and Brews was such a pleasant surprise. It made my stay in Bend so much better and memorable. The location cannot be beat. The staff was fantastic. Their energy and their friendship was definitely noted. This hostel is great for veteran hostel stayers or a first timer. You will not regret it. The price is just right, esp considering the area. Self serve breakfast, beer garden, fire pit, and sauna are all just extras. The place is eclectic and cool. You will not be disappointed. I stayed one night and had to book again for a second night. Made friends with other hostel stayers. Even had coffee at Looney Bean with one! I will be back soon!

I recently had an eight night stay, it was great. I`m pretty sure I was the eldest person there by a couple of decades, I felt at home in this inclusive environment, I loved my stay and I hope to return one day. Such a handy location to downtown Bend. Many thx.

Such a great spot! Fun, lively, and incredible people and staff! Our room was clean, cozy, and comfortable and we had everything we needed after our long drive into Bend. If you want a place with friendly staff, fun atmosphere, great food and beer right outside your room, this is the place!

The staff at the hostel were really nice. Amenities were excellent! The bed was comfortable, rooms were clean, and the bathhouse was a cool addition. It was great having access to a kitchen to cook meals. This is definitely more of a youth hostel and has some long term guests. At times I had a hard time identifying who worked there and who was staying long term. We stayed over the new years holiday and the events went until 6:30 in the morning. We were woken up once an hour to noise. As a business, I think the events could have ended at 1:00am to accommodate guests that didn't want to stay up all night. The house is old and noise carries. Bring ear plugs.

This was my second stay at the Bunk and Brew, and I’ll be stoked to return! Friendly staff and environment, well kept and super clean, and everything little thing I could want is right there, from the kitchen, to the awesome courtyard with food trucks and a beer and cider bar, frequent live music, the bath and sauna house, and the chill and cozy nooks every where. Close to downtown, but you don’t even have to go there unless you need to resupply! A dispensary, multiple coffee shops, thrift stores sometimes loaded with gear, multiple taco/ burrito options (check out the Mexican grocery store on NE Greenwood!) and even Taco Bell if that’s your jam, are within a one to ten minute walk from the Bunk and Brew! If you need a book, grab one off the shelves or check out a couple of quirky bookstores, all in that ten minute walk zone. Pilot Butte is nearby so you can stretch your legs. The building is beautiful and beautifully restored. Thanks for another awesome stay!

I was hesitant at first to book because I thought the prices were steep compared to other hostels I've stayed at, but I went ahead and booked anyway because I was tempted by the various amenities and I like staying at hostels. My stay far exceeded expectations. I stayed in the female bunks in the main building. The room was clean and the bed was nice. Each room has a keypad to get in so you don't have to worry about other guests wandering in. The shared bathroom upstairs was also very clean and well stocked with little toiletries in case you forgot something. Downstairs was also very nice. There's a kitchen for all the guests, and food for breakfast is provided by the hostel, something I've never seen before. There's also a dining room and a tv room for everyone to hang out in. I think the hostel truly shines in the backyard though where they have a bar and food truck, and host events every evening. When I stayed they were having a karaoke night for all the guests with bonfires. In the back is also the bath house with laundry that guests can use, more showers, and best of all, a sauna. All in all, I'd really recommend this hostel. Hostels are always such a fun experience and this one is no exception.

One of my first stays at a hostel, I didn’t know what to expect it ended up being an awesome time. The atmosphere was amazing and everyone was really cool. Caro and Laura were really helpful in giving us tips and showing us around Bend. 10/10 would stay again. 🎉🎊🎊🎉🎉

Very friendly staff and a really cool hostel in Bend. You even get free beer upon checking in. Yay! Very clean. Bathrooms are well equipped with even disposable toiletries, which I haven't seen in other hostels in US. So, it's no problem if forget your toothbrush. They have a lovely sauna, a Mexican food truck and a beer truck on property. Generously available breakfast items too! Will definitely stay here when I visit Bend again. <3
