This is the Original Brahmin's Coffee Bar/ Idly hotel Estimated in 1965. Situated in very busy area. It's Full packed with their loved customers all the time. Idly-Vada and Coffee is the main attraction. Idly will be fresh, hot and soft. Chutney adds the much a taste to it. Vada is Normal, not excellent but it's good when served hot. It'll be crispy, not soft. Coffee tastes very strong and good. No parking place, need to park in parking zone. Prices are very high, single round Idly costs 18 rupees. Where you can have similar Idly-Vada for 25 at Taaza Tindi. No seats, you've to stand and have your dish. There's a table towards left side. So overall good place, not an must visit place as they call it. Good for the quick bite, while passing nearby and for those who went walking.(coffee lovers)

Best iconic Bengaluru restaurant. Try to visit early in the morning or when they open, post that it will be heavily crowded. There menu is limited to few items and all are must try. 1. Idli 2. Vada 3. Kesari bath 4. Khara bath

One of the legendary eateries in bangalore. The soft idlys and crispy vada with chutney are mouthwatering. Have some khara and kesari bath to top it off, both being delicious too and end it all with an excellently prepared filter coffee. An authentic South Indian experience. Stand an eat. All this food for 150/- only. An Absolute must try!

Came here after a longtime of wait. And finally I get the love people have for this place. Buttery soft Idlis, wonderful chutneys, crisp fresh vadays with Khara Bath; all to be washed down by fantastic filter coffee! Perfect to begin your day with!

Decent place to have quick breakfast or for evening snacks. The place is very crowded always. They have just idli vada and chow chow bath along with coffee tea. The highlight was chutney here rest was as usual.

Being one of the oldest cafes/eateries, the place lives up to reputation. Fluffy Idly, crispy vada and chutney. It's a must try. Coffee was also strong. Although, the place has no seating available, you can stand outside and tables are available to keep your food and eat. Would definitely recommend visiting there.

I have been coming to Brahmin's Coffee Bar (BCB) from late 80s. If I ever wanted to eat idli in Bangalore, BCB was the place to go. This place has been associated with so many memories. The idli, vada, chutney, butter and kharabath had so much flavor and taste back then. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has come down drastically and I can't believe that this was the same place that was once my favourite. I ordered Idli vada chutney, Kharabath and Kesaribath. While chutney was watery and lacked the punch, idli was thin and tasted average. The butter too missed the buttery taste and felt like cream. Kharabath was oily and had nothing unforgettable. Kesaribath was way tooo sweet, and would put sugar to shame. It's sad to see how BCB's food quality has dropped and the establishment is running only due to its historical fame.

This Coffee Bar offers hygienic and tasty vegetarian dishes Idly, Vada, Dosa and all. No seating arrangement only standing. One extra counter for taking additional chatni and sambar and one more counter to receive plates. Food served here are tasty.

One of the old refreshments of Bengaluru and Basavanagudi. Takeaway and Dine-in is available, for particular dishes you need to be there by time, crowd is always as usual and parking the vehicles is quite messy as it is a busy road. My recommendations are Uppittu/Kharabath with Vada and soft Idli. Coffee is best here. My ratings out of 10 for Vada(6), Idli(9), Uppittu(7) and Coffee(9).

Brahmins' coffee bar is a place is nostalgia and comfort. The whole place has a vibe that's enough to take away all your stresses! My go-to order is a single idli vada with butter and extra strong coffee- yes, you can customise the coffee order, even sugar free coffee is available! Their vadas are so so so crisp, and their idlis are soft. There's also easy availability of parking both for two and four wheeler! Food: 4/5 Value for money : 5/5

What can I comment about this Establishment here. Such an old place and yet, the taste still remains the same. Always a delight visiting and having a quick grab here which offers the crispiest Vade in all of Bengaluru. One of the very few places to offer such quality breakfasts.

One of the older restaurants in south Bangalore. This is the original Brahmin’s coffee Bar. Subsequently many places with same name have started in Bangalore though they are not related. Unlike most other places this restaurant has its own timing - 7am to 12 noon and 3pm to 7pm. They are closed on Sundays, which is unusual for restaurants as it’s probably the day with most footfall. But that’s Brahmin’s Coffee Bar for you! The menu is simple with just 4 items apart from Coffee/tea. The food tastes great. There is no seating and it is only self service. It gets pretty crowded especially on weekends.

Undoubtedly the best place for South Indian food. Medu vada is the best I have ever had. Service is quite fast. But you can expect a queue. Place is clean, well organised. Idly just melts in mouth, filter coffee is quite good as well.

The coffee was good, but I forgot to request them to not add sugar to it. Could have been better without the sugar. We tried the vadai and the idly. The vadai was crispy but oily. The idli was good but not extraordinary. The chutney was good but not earthshaking. Overall, a decent place to get a quick meal if you are in the area, but I wouldn't go out of the way to eat here.

Yummy and healthy breakfast. Place opens at 6AM and remains open till 12. Menu is limited but that is the main attraction point of this place. Especially Idly and chutney is so tasty. Place is little bit crowdy and social distancing is not followed strictly so please be careful. This place remains closed on Sunday.

Great food. Idlys are softest you can ever find. But the lack of seating space makes this place viable to stress and difficulty. Parking is tough if you have four wheeler. And prices are rock high. 20rs/piece of idli. Coffee is great as well.

"Brahmin's Coffee Bar in Bangalore is a charming breakfast spot that stands out for its simplicity and delicious offerings. Their menu may be limited to just four breakfast items, but each one is a masterpiece. The idlis, vadas, khara bath, and kesari bath are prepared with such precision and flavor that they're nothing short of amazing. This place captures the essence of traditional South Indian breakfast. What makes Brahmin's Coffee Bar truly special is its timeless ambiance. It's a humble, unpretentious eatery where you can savor your breakfast at a leisurely pace while enjoying the aromatic filter coffee. In a world filled with choices, this simplicity is a breath of fresh air. If you're in Bangalore, don't miss the opportunity to experience the sheer delight of their breakfast offerings. Brahmin's Coffee Bar offers a culinary journey that's unforgettable."

Brahmin's Coffee Cafe is a legendary breakfast place located in Shankar Mutt area. The place has a cult following when it come for breakfast. They are the first cafe to pioneer standing and eating. They have few tables outside the restaurant. The menu is very limited only comprising of Idly, Vada, Khara and Kesari Bath, Tea/Coffee and butter! We ordered the Idly, Vada, Kesari Bath and ofcourse the beverages. The idly was soft and the chutney does the trick. The Vada was very crisp from outside perhaps it was fried two times. The place dont serve any sambar. The kesari bath has pineapple, raisins and cashews. It was a bit too sweet. The tea and coffee were okay. Great chutney and vada, but nothing extraordinary about this place.

Always been a big fan of iconic hotels in Bangalore. But the sad part is their taste and quality is deteriorating day by day, classic example of that is this store. Charging 20 rupees per idli and 32 rupees per vada doesn't justify the size you provide. Same with Khara Bath and Kesari bath. This place is surviving just because a generation has been attached to it emotionally and their memories with this place are priceless and so their next gen is also somewhat associated with it, I have seen ppl getting offended if we talk negative about this store, such is their attachment with the store as it goes back to decades of relationship. But it's we take out all these and just see what is offered to us with the price we pay, this is not at all worth in any way. 1. Idli and vada size is too small for the price they charge. 2. Idli tastes almost the same with many other restaurants, there is no uniqueness left in it. 3. Chutney is amazing, but doesn't remain the only place you serve this any more, I have tasted many other places that provide similar taste at very affordable prices with better dining experience. 4. I guess no need to even mention about the ambience or the comfort to dine in, in terms of place to sit and relax and eat, parking, cleanliness, ambience, nothing is there here to justify their price tag. 5. All in all, this place is far from it's best in the past, it no where close to the taste and quantity it was providing earlier for the price they were charging. By the way their coffee is still one of the best, but again the PRICE!

This place used to be really good unfortunately not the same anymore.. Now I see the following changes in the food and management. 1. The food quality has considerably gone down same with the taste of idly and khara bhat .. and the cost has been increased to almost 10 rupees per item. Idly was very sour. 2. The staff has become rude and treats customers as if they are poor and hungry 3. No parking space and everyone keeps honking 4. No waste management- it was stinking around the place There is a temple beside and this restaurant doesn't maintain cleanliness causing discomfort to devotees and society. Definitely a bad experience with the Brahmins coffee bar

BCB is like an heritage to Bangaloreans and always compared to the likes of MTR, Vidyarthi Bhavan and few others. THIS PLACE IS CLOSED ON SUNDAYS Located in the busy Shankarmutt Area on the ground floor so easily accessible to all. Parking is a challenge as there is limited parking close to the restaurant. Food tastes good and prices are reasonable. There is no place to sit or stand and eat within the restaurant, however there are few high tables along the restaurant on the outside where you could have your eats. Overall a lovely experience and good value for money food.

A must visit when in Namma Bengaluru. Any morning that you want a kick start head to this quaint little space that has been there since decades now. A limited menu of Idli ( steamed Rice pancakes) Vada, Khara bhat and Kesari bhat with a fantastic chutney that is the best available anywhere in Bengaluru. Finish off with a strong filter coffee and you are set to conquer the day! Closed on Sundays and open other days till 10 am and then in the evening for a few hours. Peak hours its difficult to park the vehicles and its a big mess.

This place serves only 5 items, Kharabhat, Kesribhat, Vadas, idli and coffee. However each item is probably one of the best that is served in the town. In my view, this place has the best Kharabhat in the town hands town..The kesri Bhat is also good and the Idlis are really soft. The chatni has right balance of spice. The vadas are absolutely delicious.. The coffee is really Good too.. This is a must visit place... Be prepared to wait if you go in the late morning.

Brahmins idli is known for its soft idli they maintain neat and hygiene place good friendly staff and good place to have breakfast. Also the combination of chutney which has the heat from the green chilli. If the idli is too soft for you, go for the uddine vada. Fresh and crispy. Dip thta in the chutney. The outside of the vada still retains the crisp and the soft inside soaks in the flavours from the chutney making it superlicious. Finally the filter coffee after the idli vada surely going to finish your breakfast on a high note.

Disappointing experience at this over-hyped spot. The high prices don't match the underwhelming quantity and cold, tiny idlis. Self-service shouldn't come with such a hefty cost. Save your money and time; it's not worth the visit. Limited seating and no parking further add to the drawbacks. Wouldn't recommend.

I've sipped a bit of old Bangalore charm and it tastes just as I imagined - warm and comforting. Do not miss this if you're in Blr. Absolute must have. Don't come in expecting 5 star butlers or crazy ambiance. This place is all about simple setting and well preserved heritage recipes.

I would rank this place high for their vada-chutney, attested by the number of people who visit to just have the vada. Idli and other breakfast items are good as well, but I feel like I had similar ones at many other places. Coffee is great, it has a slight smokey flavor that many seem to like.

If you are looking for a quick snack and some strong coffee. You have landed in the right place. Very famous for coffee. There is no sitting place. You have to stand and eat (maybe due to COVID measures). Should try the coffee there atleast once if you stay or visit bangalore.

This is the original and only Brahmins Coffee Bar. My first visit to this place was awesome. They had only 5 to 6 items in their menu but the taste of dishes was superb. Vada was very crispy and kharabath was too good. Filter coffee was the best. This place is crowded. Parking is not available so make sure you park your vehicles in nearby streets. Very clean and hygienic. You must visit this place and try all the dishes.

One of the legendary eateries of Bengaluru.. Visited on a weekday, a bit late for breakfast @10.30am. So the crowd was a bit less. Tried all items in their menu, which is limited. Idly and chutney was amazing. Soft idly, spicy and tasty chutney. Vade was crispy. Kharabhath was spicy and kesaribhath was yummy. Finished with a hot, strong coffee. The cashier is damn fast. Even before I paid the bill, he looked at the denomination of the money I held and gave change before receiving the money!! Chutney can be topped up at the small counter in the corner. It's not a welcoming reserve! He serves with a grumpy face.. but who cares.. Recommended dish - Idly, vade,Kesari bhath. Don't forget to get some extra butter Note - Parking spots could be tough to find on weekends

  • 5/5 Siddarth B U. 10 months ago on Google
Nice one, started in 1965 (as per the board). Lots of people over weekends. You need to purchase token to get food and come out of the hotel and eat. Taste was good and consistent as we visited Many times. Coffee is very famous in in the place and must try.

  • 3/5 Rakesh K. 1 year ago on Google
The place was just okay, the only wow factor could be that this restaurent is serving food from '65 apart from that everything was just meh. There was no dosa available in morning only idli and Kara bath. So I opted for a Vada and cofee and a Vada costed a whopping 30 bucks and a filter cofee for 20 comparing this too taaza thindi it's way costlier and taste doesn't wow as such. Parking is right next to the hotel. It's better to choose taaza thindi over this.

  • 5/5 Adarsha B. 1 year ago on Google
Being the original Brahmin's coffee bar, this place is crowded most of the times, due to its authenticity. Idli, vada, khara bath and coffee were amazing. Crispy vada and chutney make a perfect combination. Kesari bath was much sweeter. There is separate counter to get extra chutney, and it's a good idea. There are no tables to place the plates and eat and no place to sit either. It comes under the category of eat and leave type restaurant. There is descent parking place on the opposite side of main road. Prices are little higher compared to competetors like by2 coffee, but affordable.

A warm and welcoming place set up in 1965 still runs strong; it has only 5 dishes on their menu yet has unbelievable footfall during their peak hours. I've tried everything and loved all of them; not just the locals, but people from all around seem to travel and visit this spot to try out their limited menu. Idli - Soft, fluffy rava idli, which was served with a load of their coconut mint chutney; healthy and content with the taste 😚 Vada - Contemporary hole-vada with crunchy texture on the outside and soft minced lentil batter on the inside, Yummy!! 👍 Kharabath - Mild spiced (similar to upma) rava upma with loads of ghee, chili, and curry leaves; this stands out from all the others owing to their authentic flavors, MUST TRY!! 😍 Kesari bath - Super amazing rava Kesari with raisins, pineapple, and nuts, wicked smooth and so aromatic!! 🤩 Tea/coffee - That peace as we get once we sum up our meal with a hot cup of tea or coffee, BLISS!! Super strong, frothy, and kicky!! ♥️♥️ It is one of the most economical places for brekkie in Bangalore!! How they could sell such tasty breakfast at low cost is beyond my understanding!! Parking could be a problem with not much space in their narrow streets. Standing tables and self-service, so not a concern for people who are keen only on food and not the miscellaneous stuff. They clean all the tables in an instant!! There's also not much on the ambiance part since we pay for the food on the left, grab our plates straight, collect our condiments on the right, and exit straight away to our tables!!!

The best and a go to breakfast place in Bangalore. Located at the centre, with extremely quick services. One can have a very appetizing breakfast before heading to work.
