Had the worst ever experience last night while trying to checkin at Locul.Uptown! The security guy at the place & the staff who was attending to us over the phone was extremely rude. We were made to feel so unwelcome & the kind of questions he asked made me feel like he’s doing me a favour by letting us stay there. He did not know the difference between a city called Mangalore which isn’t Bangalore & kept asking me why Im checking in from Bangalore & which part of bangalore I belong to. And when I asked him he said Im not following his rules. Really?! And while I traveled by car, he kept insisting that I share travel tickets. This was at 11:30PM in the night when I was too exhausted from the long drive. And I had already spent 20mins filling out forms, Whatsapping documents etc. Then he said he’s offering me a non-ac room, while I had booked a Deluxe room - which shows AC in the pictures. I got exhausted and had to walk out of there & book another place for the night Thanks for nothing! In the end I got fru

I stayed at local uptown for almost a month over multiple trips. It's a co-living space. More like a hostel. But it serves the purpose. Staff is very courteous and helpful. Rooms are clean and there is a fully functional common kitchen. The overall space is also very well laid out and feels homely. Has paid laundry, paid snacks to meet your late night hunger pangs. Was very conveniently located for my since my office was walkable.

I stayed here for morethan 20 days and really disappointed with their laundry services and poor response. They spoiled my complete set of dresses and they are not taking any responsibility, has been highlighted to Mr. Aswin and there is no proper response yet. Never expected such kind of poor response from locul Uptown.

Entering into the property and you will feel like it's a jail. You have to agree on so many terms and conditions. I never seen these kinds on rules and norms neither in hotels nor in PG. If you are planning to do work from here, carry your own router setup🙂, wifi will not work in room. Common area is full of people so you can't attend a call. Your friends can't even come inside to meet you. Only DSLR pictures are beautiful but in reality i don't find it relevant in term of service. You have to pay for each and every thing, even for lock, towel as well.. People are attractive with lucrative pictures and location but be careful and find a good property in same price range.. 🙂

Please don’t go by the EDITED photos posted online. The room was very basic and is not worth the money. The bathroom is not cleaned properly, the window ledge looked like it wasn’t cleaned for almost a year, very dirt and dusty. The room and bathroom looks like a cheap lodge room and doesn’t offer value for the money paid. The common kitchen, dining and fridge are so FILTHY. When I saw the room after the check in . I told them I wanted to check out and find another place to stay , they refused to refund my money and I had no choice but to stay . I stayed one night n spent the other two nights at my aunt’s house .

Very bad place to stay. We stayed only for a night and it was the worst experience ever. Fan was really noisy inside the room. Glasses were vvisible from outside and the curtain quality was really bad. No kettle and towels provided. Mosquito problem was there. Too many rules

Worse service ever! We asked them to do our laundry and it came back wet, they didn’t want to dry our clothes and we had to wear humid clothes. We paid more than 50€ in total and when we asked for towels they asked us for 50 roupies… There was a huge leak in the bathroom. The staff was super rude and agressive. The bed is very uncomfortable. Also there was a huge party and we couldn’t sleep. Wouldn’t recommend going there.

Calm place to stay with no noise and disturbance Disliked · 1. Bedsheets were never replaced on time 2. Bad internet connection in room 3. Fan stopped working 4. Lower bed was available but still was given an upper bed in spite of request for a lower bed due to medical issues 5. One guest was using the food items of other guests and in spite of the complaint, no action was taken and the issue was not addressed by the staff 6. Common bathroom was occupied and the room bathroom was occupied by another guest. Due to the emergency, another room bathroom was used and the staff did not understand the severity of the situation and was just shouting that you cannot use other room bathroom

We stayed just 1 night at Sakkath room. Wifi connection was not great, windows were damaged ( mosquitoes came in during night), FAN was making noise. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience inside the room for the money we paid. And, complimentary breakfast with 2 just idly's :P.. for the money they charge, they must offer better facilities. Also transportation from this place is not easy to find. So, I would not recommend this place unless and until they improve on their service.

Best hostel I've stayed in Bangalore, I highly recommend the dormitories. It's absolutely peaceful, as the location is away from all the commotion & noise. The managers are incredibly nice and hospitable. If you want some nice peace and quiet, this is a good option. There's also a kitchen where you can cook. Highly recommend 👍

All over This property was good. But The Check in process was not good, Taken too much time to that.wanted to send documents to WhatsApp..!!?? And Travel tickets are mandatory!!! That’s was surprising… Travelers with own Vehicles what will do..? !! and The wifi was horrible.. Only enough speed at common places.. no Range at rooms

Nice and clean rooms and friendly staff for a good price. The atmosphere is good for working but not that great for connecting and chilling until late in the night.

It was a decent place to stay. Rooms and washrooms were clean and they took proper care of hygiene. There was no locker facility instead they provided with aluminium box to keep valuable stuff. These boxes were dirty and were not maintained. There is nothing in the surrounding. One need to travel atleast 1.5 to 2 kms if they need anything. A deposit of 500 was taken for room key and was returned before leaving.

Great place, Go through the reviews before booking. Not a party place nor the neighborhood. Very calm hostel and friendly people as staff and guests. Good place to work from, Only difficulty you might face would be that there is no restaurants or grocery stores at a quick reach but thanks to dunzo, That wouldn't be a big problem. Totally would suggest you if you are a calm traveller.

I've been to so many cities and hostels like this one before but, This hostel's hospitality is on another level. And the staff was amazing Jackson, Deb, Darshan you guys are Fantastic whenever I'm gonna visit Bangalore I'll try to stay in your hostel.. KEEP ROCKING GUYS.

This place made my solo trip all the more fun. Well maintained, clean and peaceful. The staff are friendly and polite and accomodate our needs well. Located at a prime location, the street is always bustling with people. Would definitely recommend this place!

It was one of the amazing hostel that I been in my travel. They people made me to feel like home. I really wanna thank each and every People of the hostel( Ashwin, Vamshi, grace, graham, Debb & Prem). I love it more than my home. They have the clean toilets. Neat living spaces. They have the kitchen and cutleries that you need to cook. It’s was a peaceful place. It’s good for travellers aswell as working people. I met a quite good bunch of friends. Which I will not forget my entire life. Thank you for making my stay so fun and beautiful.

Very bad experience, if you want to jump to a bunch of restrictions you can go there. hosting is very bad. The hosting guys only knows to say that “ Don’t do that,Don’t go there, Don’t use the light,Don’t touch that, Don’t sit there, ……. They were introgate our some discussions by saying their Don’ts If you need to discuss something After 10 o clock You need to go outside ( road ) or you need to discuss your thing in very low voice and In darkness….. I stayed in many hostels in Banglur, But I never had a bad experience like here ….

Situated in the old town area of Bangalore, it's a lovely property. The staff is welcome and prompt. Everything is clean. The rooms. The common area. Decent wifi too. The property is extremely quite and serene. Highly recommended!

Friendly and helpful staff but disappointing management: - Though made clear in the reservation that I needed a large car for pick-up from the airport (due to oversized luggage) and despite reminding 2 times before arrival, it was still a (too) small car that showed up, - No towels were available at arrival, they were only available in the evening. Otherwise friendly and clean place, value for money and in an interesting environment.

Very nice people at the desk and staff . They organize tours every evening so you can get to bond with others and explore Bangalore together. Really liked the location as well, close to a lot of shops in walking distance. The building and rooms were OK. Bit old building but nicely decorated.

The staff is extremely professional and very kind. I received great assistance when needing information or translation. The hostel is clean and comfortable, there are always soap and toilet paper ready for use in the washroom. The commons spaces are comfortable. There is a washing-machine service for 300,00 INR, which was very useful after days having to wash my clothes by hand while traveling. There is even a smoker area on the terrace of the second floor, so that the guests in the common area won't be disturbed by the smoke. The area is a proper uptown. There isn't a big choice on where to get goods in the surroundings, but the 8th Main Street around the corner can provide for most commercial needs and has a young atmosphere thanks to the college students populating it during the day. Other consume or shopping needs can be provided for in the Commercial Street, at a distance of ca. 10 minutes with a Tuktuk for a transportation cost of ca. 80-90 INR. I had a good experience and I reccomend the place!

The members at reception were quite patient, helpful and warm. They let us use common space in case we reach early than the check in time or stay back after check out time for 2-3 hours. The balconies are quite good for an afternoon breeze, as we chill reading a book or watching something!

Poor communication by host. I asked about the availability about 4 days prior to my booking date and host communication was slow in my experience. I am traveling to Bangalore from out of country and needed to ensure that the place was available. Single room shows as available on Google and on Airbnb but when confirming, host tells me it is not. Had to cancel about 12 hours before staying.

Excellent stay, Location is very apt. Near to cantt railway station and near to majestic bua stand also. Staff is very friendly and cooperative. Must stay here.

Beds and linen are clean. Located in a posh residential location Staff were really courteous and polite. Open area to rest and read. The only disadvantage was there was no public transport nearby, you have to walk for 10-15 min to get food and grocery. Rickshaw and cab you can book from online portals. Rest room was clean but taps were quite old and was not working properly. Dorm rooms, open area are quite big. They also provide home made healthy food options at a reasonable price. Overall it was a good experience except the transport and the tap not working properly. Overall a good place to stay for short duration. Definitely reccomended

It has been a wholesome experience. You will feel like home. All the facilities are here and if you forgot something such as brush or lock or eatable snack you can pay and collect these from the service desk. Refrigerator, Iron, laundry services(paid), daily special activity, small library and lot of indoor games are here to keep you engaged. Location is in one of the posh areas of Bengaluru with absolute silence.

Hygiene top notch with Very comfortable beds in reasonable price including breakfast makes me appreciate their effort.

Great location and sercive and amazingly kind staff

Lovely atmosphere and staff members, saved my first impression about India. Great location, offering a good starting point to explore Bangalore and the surrounding area. Easy to reach by bus from the airport. Only the next metro station is a bit far to reach by foot, around 30 minutes.

I had the best stay in Locul Uptown. It is super clean and welcoming. Special shout out to the staff who were just amazing and super helpful ! I will definitely be back :)

This place is chill AF. Super easy to meet people. Breakfast is delicious and included in the bed price. The offer occasional tours and other fun things. The perfect hostel and the perfect island of peace in hectic Bangalore.

Even though the vibe and layout of the accommodation is great, but the staff isn't. Having booked the whole room, I would expect them to not allow anyone else enter the room; but they requested us to allow some stranger to stay in our room, which is completely unacceptable. Also, they are not very transparent (in terms of money) with their rules and regulations and with the tours they did with us. I had asked them for a breakdown for the food street event payment so I know what exactly I am paying for but they never gave it to me, even though I requested to them till the last day when I was getting late for my flight (they basically kept beating around the bush). They lack clarity in their organization. The receptionist also mentioned that I had to pay for the cab for the food street event which he never told me until that last moment. At that moment, it becomes very difficult for me in planning out the money matters (as a student) because I have limited finances. I am not at all happy with their service. The last thing I need to mention, two of the days, the breakfast got over before the breakfast time (but apparently they should have enough food for all their guests) and I was left hungry in the morning until I ordered something for myself.

Nice place to stay... Hygiene maintenance they do pest control also for rooms it's pest free hostel. Also offered airport drops for Rs. 950/- with good driver who take care of us well. They take good care of customer.

Stayed here for 7 nights in a 6 bed dorm with an ensuite. I arrived after 7pm and check in was pretty straightforward. There's the option to pay by credit card and the hostel doesn't charge a fee like some hostels in India. My room was on the upper floor and had three bunk beds arrayed against the walls with a large central area and has both AC and a ceiling fan. Each bed comes with a private light and two electrical sockets. The beds are pretty comfortable and come with a thick blanket, useful when the AC was on. I think you can also ask for thinner blankets for when only the fan is in use. The bed frame is the metal variety, which does shake if you unlucky enough to have a bunkmate who practices martial arts in their sleep. The bathroom has a sink, toilet and shower area with curtains as a separator, which works pretty well. You can actually take a shower or bathe local style if you wish. No problems getting hot or cold water, or something in between using the water mixer. Also in the upper floor is a large lounge area, a balcony, a kitchen and dinner table. Downstairs, the hostel has both and indoor and outdoor lounge area. The outdoor area has a mix of bean bags, tables and chairs, and cushioned benches. It's a very nice place to relax. You do have to take precautions against mosquitoes in the outdoor area though, but that's just India. I got a breakfast with the room. Every morning there are 3 options and you pick 2 from 3, plus a small bowl of fruit. One of the breakfast options is different every morning, so it doesn't get boring. Overall, above standard fare for most hotel I've stayed in India. The hostel has several WiFi points and I never had any problems using the internet. All the staff are great. Abeek (sp?) is fantastically knowledgeable about all things Bengaluru. There's usually some kind of entertainment planned for each day which guests can participate or not. I recommend the Flower Market tour with the aforementioned Abeek. An honourable mention also goes to the clever and funny Grace, friendly and helpful Nidish(sp?) and Sonali. Actually everyone is helpful and just plain awesome. Overall, the hostel is well thought out, the rooms are excellent and people fantastic. Locul.Uptown would be my first choice the next time I stay in Bengaluru.

Great place to stay, polite staff and amazing rates! Walking distance from Anand Rao circle where most buses coming from Pune stop. Room is also very clean, Tip- you need a passport to book a bed here. So make sure you carry one!

Wow nice place to stay for business meeting visit

I've been living here for a while, and I can say this with complete confidence: Uptown is the *best* hostel I've ever stayed in. People are super nice. The place is squeaky clean. Location is right in the middle of the city. And most importantly, it's in a serene and a calm place, away from the chaos of Bengaluru. What more could one want from a hostel? Thank you Vamsi, Ashwin, Prem and Grace, for making me feel at home. As a bonus, I met my current girlfriend here, so this place is even more special to me now.

This has been the worst hospitality experience I've ever encountered in all my travels. I've visited numerous countries and cities and have stayed in a variety of hostels. Upon arrival at this particular hostel around 10 pm, I was asked to send documents to a WhatsApp number and fill out a form. They also requested my travel ticket, which I didn't have since I arrived by car. When I questioned this requirement, they responded by saying, "It's a hostel for travelers." Well, aren't we travelers regardless of our mode of transportation? Despite this, they wouldn't allow me to check in that night, leaving me to find another hostel at such a late hour. It's clear they don't prioritize traveler safety, and this hostel is not at all traveler-friendly. I've slept on couches when rooms were full in many hostels and still felt content, but this experience was truly terrible. I'm incredibly disappointed and frustrated.
