Neat and clean rooms. Although other hostel mates might be messy. The common area leaves much to be desired. Great people at the front desk. Courteous and helpful. Comfy beds. Overall, very convenient for people looking to spend a night in church street. Fair warning, check in is at 1pm.

Good people, spacious and comfy rooms. Staff and security are very helpful people. Common area is quite nice, you get a good view of the church street. Location is best, you stay in the middle of the most happening place of Bangalore. Loved the stay.

I strongly advise considering alternative hotel or service rather than opting for this particular establishment. Although the price difference might be slightly higher in other hotels, the overall experience would likely be significantly more satisfactory. Regrettably, this particular place has a policy of charging for every amenity, even including towels, which may be perceived as inconvenient. Furthermore, they implement an AC curfew, could you believe that an AC curfew. Additionally, the bedding provided was less than satisfactory, had an unpleasant smell of sweat. Consequently, I made the decision to to check out early.

You will not be able to sleep in this place. A. Its very noisy, the streets are always honking B. Room 203/4 has poor airconditioning and a noisy fan C. There is absolutely no respect about timings from the guests, I was awake till 4AM and decided to find another place to sleep as it was impossible here.

It’s a cozy, clean and affordable place to stay which is located at an amazing location. At the heart of Church Street, this hostel is perfect to explore whatever Bangalore has to offer in terms of shopping, restaurants etc. it also has good metro connectivity and is a great chance to meet new people.

Being one of the more expensive hostels in Bangalore, we hoped it'd translate into service and facilities, but no. You are greeted by a disgruntled security guard with a pseudo military attitude asking you in a pretty irritating manner for your ID and other details, from your aadhar to where you're from, where you stayed, mode of transport, your tickets, and pretty much everything detail( probably because of Covid scares), but this was a minor inconvenience in comparison to all the shortcomings that we were about to encounter, the check-in timing is post 12, the common area sucks big time, it isn't like in the pictures, no place to set up your workspace, no smoking allowed, no drinking allowed i mean in the open terrace. You can't have anyone over to just meet in the lobby also. So once you checkout at 10 in the morning, you won't have access to the common area post 2PM. The kitchen was okay- at best. The common area washroom is pathetic with the smallest commode I've personally seen. Would never recommend this place to anyone! You'll have better luck at Zostel, prices are lower in comparison, facilities are much better.

The pros - Very comfortable beds - The location is great, right in Church Street - Good wifi The cons - There are almost no backpackers here, it's full of people who stay here for work. Really lame atmosphere because of that. One guy in my room started having a call at 7.20 (are you serious?!) and overall, people went to bed early and woke up early, no social things going on in the evening. People sit in their beds with their laptops on their chest - No alcohol allowed, which makes the atmosphere even worse - So many rules here that will make you feel like a child. - The place still has corona warmings all over the place. Stop it guys, it's september 23, covid is over - After midnight I had a hard time getting in, the night guard was sleeping and none of the bells I ringed woke him up, had to resort to knocking really hard on the door to wake him up which luckily worked, otherwise I would be locked out for the night - They don't check for toilet paper themselves, you have to ask at the front desk if there isn't any anymore. I have no clue why but I found this annoying

Very nice stay. High light is metro at walkable distance. The Indira Nagar one, local midtown is more spacious though.

I had a good experience with LoCul.central. Dorm room, bed & toilets were very neat and clean. Would recommend this for solo travelers. you can enjoy MG street night vibe's during this hostel visit. there are issues with parking if you are planning to travel with your own vehicles kindly look for some other hostel.

Wow what a stay excellent 👍👌 only thing you have to consider the check in time coz most of the people will come in the early morning travel so please change the check in atleast to 10'o clock. Thank you

I stayed here for a night in the 6 bed female only dorm room. The place is clean and vibrant. The check-in and check-out were smooth and I did not face any safety issues. Just keep one point in mind that the lockers do not have locks, so you will have to carry your own lock. It is located on the church street which is the most happening part of Bangalore with multiple eateries around. I will highly recommend this place to anyone particularly solo travellers.

The rooms themselves are very clean with reliable hot water in the showers. The beds in the dorms have privacy curtains but they are partially see-through, somewhat defeating the purpose. The location is great if you plan to catch the metro to get around (which you definitely should as the traffic is awful). The street is very nice with lots of restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. There was not much of a social vibe when we were there in late January but that could have just been poor timing. They do not serve alcohol and do not let you bring your own in, which is a shame because it would be really nice to be able to drink on the terrace. Staff were generally friendly and there is a room to store luggage and shower after check out.

Location is good but keep in mind that you are not allowed to smoke or drink anywhere in the hostel, not even outside on the rooftop! Many rules and restrictions and military style security always ready to impose the rules...

I have stayed here a couple of times now and the feeling to return remains fresh. The facilities are great especially the common area in the terrace. Having a hot cup of black tea or coffee using the electric kettle and sitting there soaking in the early morning sun is a relaxing feeling. The busiest of all streets in Bangalore has a deserted look at that time and the area is mostly silent. The best things about this hostel is the location (the most happening place in Bangalore, Church Street), Chai Galli (right above it and some of the finest assortments of chais and other food items served by some extremely well mannered and pleasant staff), Empire restaurant right opposite and the MG Road metro station hardly 300m away. The bunk beds are comfortable and the lockers in the rooms I chose were big enough to hold my big travelers backpack and two other bags too. I also felt nice about having a keycard which meant that nobody else had entry to the rooms other than the occupants themselves. It brought in a feeling of safety to my things. The bathroom was neat and had all the necessary attachments needed including a rack to keep the soap and other addons. The security staff is very polite and always up for a chat. I have never had any bad experience in this lovely place and made some nice friends over the visits too. Would come back here for sure.

One of the best hotels I stayed. Staffs are very caring and supportive towards their guests. They try every possible way to keep their guests safe and happy. When I was there a few roads were closed and the hotel team informed me via WhatsApp which roads should avoid and alternate roads to use. The hotel team kept me updated about how to reach the hotel from the airport all options were very clear and they shared with me. When I was check-in at the hotel I tried to pay through my card due to some issues The card didn't work and I paid through cash After a few hours I went back to reception and asked can I pay by card and get the cash The receptionist agreed to refund the cash and pay via bank card. I had early morning flight hotel staff helped me to get a taxi from hotel to airport charged very reasonable price. I got opportunity to meet new friends in hotel from different parts of the world. They have very nice rooftop garden, kitchen and chilling area. I will definitely visit LoCul.Cental again very soon. Highly recommended place to stay in church street. Many restaurants options from low budget to high budget closed by hotel.

Right in the centre of a busy market. Rooms, wash rooms are super clean. Super polite staff. Amazing terrace view, hostel rooms are really silent inspite of so much hush around once you step out. Too many food options, auto rickshaw and metro is hardly a minute walk. I recommend to go and stay if you are reading this review.

Stayed at this place 2 times thus far. Checkin and checkouts 24/7 which helped me with my late night arrivals and departures. The rooms are small but good enough for a place in the heart of the city. Card scanner needed to enter the room so it feels nice and secure. Lockers could be bigger. Footwear must be left outside but not all people follow it which sucks when stinky shoes and socks are left around. The bathrooms are cleaner than most dorms out there. The beds are soft and comfy with a bed light for reading and working. Not too noisy in the bedrooms but attending meetings on the terrace is nearly impossible with the traffic and noise from IPL fan gathering across the street during the IPL season. Wifi is not great but reasonable. They could have better workspace and better space to dry clothes out in the sun. All types of food literally available in walkable distances which was a bonus. Try out Milano right across the street. Overall I would recommend for short stays and will visit again.

+ The facilities are good and the overall cleanliness is above average. Also, the location is very convenient to discover some of the main sights by foot. The mattress was comfortable but noisy, the rooms are sufficiently spacious and it doesn't get hot thanks to AC and fan installed in the room. - I didn't like the taxi pick-up service offered by the hostel. I was lucky that I noticed in the booking confirmation that the reservation was actually made for the same day and not the day after as indicated in the reservation. Also, I was asked to provide the arrival time and flight number, still the taxi driver wasn't able to check himself at which terminal he should pick me up which led to confusion. Not necessarily an issue caused by hostel staff but I didn't like the experience provided by the partner company. Better to take an Uber, you'll save about INR 200 depending on the time of the day. Also, I noticed occasional itches during my sleep and suspect that this may have been due to an emerging bed bug issue. Staff was OK, I felt that the night guard was more welcoming and friendly than the day shift people.

Decent place in a good area. Metro station is also close by. Many restaurants and bars nearby. The rooms are decent. Eating inside the room is not allowed but you can bring/order food and eat in the common area. Smoking and drinking are not allowed in the room or in the common area. Bathroom is attached. A locker is also provided but you will have to buy the lock separately or bring your own. Laundry is also available.

Hats off to the team Locul for providing me a vibrant environment throught out tye stay. Well maintained hostels In the town. Church Street is the most happening place is the Bangalore. And the hostel is located at the prime spot of Church Street where every amenities are near by. Very good ambience and positive vibes all around the hostel. Luckily I got some of the best dorm mate during the stay. Few suggestions like designated smoking are, cloth drying spots etc needs to be addressed. I must appreciate the entire team for their effort to keep the property neat and clear all the time.

An amazing place to stay in such a happening place in Bengaluru. ₹500 per day in Church Street, you've got to be kidding me! The cleanliness is outstanding, staff are extremely friendly and they'll make you feel at home and I personally was lucky enough to get nice roommates:) Overall a great experience and truly affordable stay at the heart of Bengaluru. I loved the stay and look forward to come back again the next time I'm in Bengaluru 💯❤️

I booked first week of Oct but due to COVID19 restrictions I haven't got the room. But from outside it looks good and location is great. Nearby MG Road metro station, restaurants, and shopping.

The place was amazing! You won't find a better location then this if you're looking for looking for a backpackers hostel. Also great for business trips. Apart from the amazing location, the hostel too is amazing, loved the common work area. The kitche is really well maintained, one can cook by themselves if planning to stay longer. The rooms too are pretty well maintained, timely service is done. I'm definitely staying at the same place next time!

Locul is one of the best stay for those who looks for a clean and hygiene stay. There is a kitchen and workspace at the top floor and the Ambience was really nice. This is situated in churchstreet which is an added advantage for people who likes to explore the crowd and luxury in Bangalore. The rooms have access cards and two lockers(locks will not be provided) which ensures safety for your belongings. I would give 5 star if there were more common rooms or hostel events so that we will be able to make more connections . Still one of my best choice for Bangalore stay😇

  • 5/5 Vishwa L. 1 year ago on Google
A great place for backpackers/students to reside for probably the most affordable prices in the city, and that too, in the heart of Banglore. The location of Church St. offered so much convenience to me personally to just explore the city easily. Great amenities and clean spaces.

  • 4/5 Krish S. 1 year ago on Google
The highlight of this Locul has to be it's location, it's in the centre of ChurchStreet which is a very happening place in Banglore with lots of pubs, shopping streets and food options. Coming to the stay, despite being a 6 bed dormitory the rooms/bathrooms were pretty clean. I would say even better than some of the "budget" friendly single rooms we would get for this amount. Also, there is a common area in the terrace with kitchen (microwave, refrigerator, utensils all available) and space for recreational activities (no smoking/drinking though). Suggest the place for people who like to explore and meet new friends.

I stayed for 4 days over the weekend. Definitely the best place i could ever find which is affordable and has all the amenities working and maintained. The cleaning staff comes every Sunday I believe. You get a locker to secure your luggage. And even if it's not in the locker, the people are respectful of your belongings. The best part is the rules of locul check-in form. LoCul is setting the example for all the hostels put there. I hope the place only gets better and better.

Staff was very helpful, startegically located. They clean the space literally everyday. Had a great time. Happy and warm vibes. Cute little terrace space. Wifi could get imporved, sometimes it get disconnected.

Writing this mainly for the wonderful staff member who greeted us at 6am and gave just the most friendly welcome. He made our stay a pure joy, always smiling even at the end of his night shift! Everything else is fab too, v clean comfy rooms. Recommend.

Perfect place for backpackers. The rooms are neat and clean. Attached bathroom and common bathroom are available. I stayed there in a 6 Bed dormitory for a day. The price I paid was around 580/-. Considering the location and the facilities provided, it is a valur for money stay. It is located in the Church street, Bengaluru. They have lockers available for your goods. Bring your own lock, which is better.

Good rooms, good location, good service but beds were awful. I mean who uses a spring mattress, studies have shown that spring mattress are bad for back pain.. imagine roaming around the city and going back to hostel to relax only to find that beds are spring mattress. Spring mattress is BAD for back support!. I got back pain in just one night of sleep! So just because of this , it a awful experience.
