As always, it’s a pleasure to visit Babsdock. Before anything else, please note that this place only opens during the weekends & public holidays. THEY ARE CLOSED DURING THE WEEK DAYS. It’s pretty far from Cotonou city so be prepared for a long drive. You’ll need a speed boat to access the main place & this costs 2,500cfa (price for to & fro. A ticket will be given to you at the entrance, payments will be made later on before you leave. This is compulsory, they’ll check before you’re allowed into the boat headed back) The drive 🚤 leads you through the most beautiful mangrove you’ll ever come across. I kid you not, it is absolutely stunning! When you’ve arrived, you can relax & get refreshments or not. It’s all dependent on your preference. Kayaking costs 1,500cfa, same as sailing. Good thing about this is there are double kayaks available so you can still experience this if you’re scared. An instructor can join you & do the most part of paddling. Here, you can find some donkeys & monkeys. The toilets are pretty decent & there’s an accommodation here for people who’d want to stay over. It’s very limited I hear so you’ll need to call & confirm. I personally think you’ll have more fun if you don’t visit alone. Have someone share in the fun with you.

Mangrove ride to the place sets the tone for some adventure. Menu isn’t all that extensive but you might forgive that because of the serenity of the place. Love it, generally.

Visited with a group (@kayakinlagos on Instagram) from Lagos, Nigeria. There was no wait at the take off point, the ride through the mangrove was soothing. We tried kayaking and sailing which was fun. The food took very long to come due to the crowd, and when it finally did, it was worth the wait 🤤

It’s a place to go to if you want to get away from the noise of the town. It’s very cozy and it has a nice ambiance. I took a bike from the airport down to the dock which took 10mins or more. I got to the end of the tarred road and I had to take a boat (2500 CFA) to the dock. The boat went through a mangrove forest (which was a bit scary lol) before we saw the dock. It was a nice adventure overall. I gave it 4 stars because I didn’t really have much options to choose from on the restaurant menu (my opinion)

It's a very cool hidden gem. Be ready for a thrilling boat ride that costs additional 2,500Cfa as of the day I'm posting this. They need to do better in my opinion. Having such a place without the consideration of accommodation is such a waste. I shouldn't just come all the way because I want to get drinks and by 7pm I need to pack my bags and leave. Good customer relations but pls give us accommodation. Some of us came all the way from Nigeria 🇳🇬

Fun fact? I think Bab’s Dock is certainly one of my favorite places to visit in Cotonou. I’ve visited contonou twice, and the one time I didn’t visit Babs Dock? It felt as though my trip was not complete.. I just knew something was missing.. The fun and upbeat ambiance, the windy noise and calming breeze alongside the clapping sounds of the low tide water... Bab’s Dock is located just outside Cotonou. If you’re not using google maps or going with someone who knows the route, a tourist suggests that the best way to get there is to find the Eraven Shopping Center. This should be easy to find as it’s probably the biggest mall in the city center.

My favorite thing about here is the boat ride to the restaurant, passing through the grove onto the open lake is quite great. The food is honestly mid but the views are great.

The ambiance of babs rock is top notch, interesting mangrove boat ride. It’s all just nature. But the hostility of the management is out of this world, she’s also a racist, the Africans there were treated in an unpleasant way. Babs rock is just outside Cotonou, you will love it just try and stay away from the Manager, her attitude might give you a bad experience.

I took a weekend trip with my sisters to Cotonou, benin Republic. And babs dock located in Cococodji, Benin was one of the best tourist attractions we visited during our stay. It’s a lake resort with such a great scenery and a lot of fun activities including water sports such as kayaking, boating and parasailing. The boat ride from the entrance viewing the amazing mangrove forest was so exhilarating!!! It also has a lovely and decent bar in terms of “price point” with amazing cocktails and great food. It’s a great tourist attraction if you want to explore, dream and discover. I highly recommend to all tourists and locals.

The place is awesome. A good getaway location. The boat ride to and fro the location is 2500(quite expensive though). But the boat ride is awesome for starters. Sometimes you have to wait a little for the boat to arrive but never takes too long. Plus life jackets are always available for safety and that's really great. Although I barely use 1. Now let's talk about the location. Yea the name is right. It's a dock. You get out of the boat and you already anticipating going into the place. The horses, monkeys, and alligator/crocodile (I can't tell the difference between both. but they have 1) at the location is awesome, they add a very cool touch of naturalness that make it a very wonderful location and Kids really love it. When you going hold a fruit on hand for the monkeys. And you gotta watch them jump around in excitement. A few games for children. A place to play ball and also a swing for children. Availability of different water activities is awesome. Kayak, water skate and lots more. Although I never got to try any of them. Now the food. The food tastes great. And a real dish starts around 7000CFA, but you gonna love it. The have a few options for food. But they don have an English menu. So If you don't speak French prepare your Google translator.. Overall it's an awesome experience. If you plan on going alone and need a partner. I'm here

Bab’s Dock is a fun, captivating and serene environment. It’s a tad bit far from Cotonou so travellers should be prepared for a long ride. The trip ends with a boat ride through a peaceful mangrove. It should be noted that Bab’s Dock is only opened during the weekends so your trip was be properly planned. The gate fee and menu is quite affordable, the best fun is had in groups and with about 30000 CFA, a group of 4 can have excellent fun. Side note: there’s a back entrance to Bab’s Dock (rarely used) as people prefer to take the boat ride. A bike ride, quite scarce, is 15 minutes away from Cotonou. So if you were to drive and you’re not keen on the boat ride, you can make use of the back entrance. In all, Bab’s Dock is a must visit for any tourist who visits Benin Republic.

Let's talk about tourist attraction spots in Benin republic, if you aren't mentioning bab's dock, then your itinerary is incomplete. Bab's Dock is a great destination with great water views. I and the team got here for a bit of relaxation and we weren't disappointed. The water and environment were beautiful, the food and drinks pricing wasn't expensive compared to other spots in Benin, and the food tasted great. I and my team went sailing ⛵️ and it was fun. As English speaking individuals we had issues communicating with the staff, but we were lucky that one of them was able to speak and understand English enough to get us sorted out. Despite the view and water that we loved, there wasn't a lot to do. So if you are someone looking for a lot of activities, they might not have that for you. They have a small keep for several animals and a small swing and playground.

you get there via a short boat ride and it’s worth it for the views and a swim in the lake. wasn’t super happy about the alligator in a sad cage, and the monkeys didn’t seem happy in their cages either, but minus that, it was a day well spent.

I love the location. Its like a hidden secret. I love the fact that it has unique features that make it different. The lack of electricity and the reusable sources are very proactive. I thought the toilets would stink since they don't use water at all to flush but I couldn't smell anything. It was actually a very cool concept. The food and drinks are very decent. I love the sailing and kayaking options. The seating area and the wildlife around give it that extra touch of unplugging from reality. I'd recommend it to those who are seeking serenity and peace. On the down side the staff have to be begged to receive payment, that is very draining to deal with. The orders also take forever to come but I won't blame that solely on bab's Dock, that laissez-faire approach is a general epidemic in benin Republic I guess.

It’s always been a warm place for relaxation 😎 and to break away from the stress of the week. Just at the end of la « route des pêches ». It’s on’y now i realized i’ve not done a review of it. I strongly recommend!!!!!
