Lark's knocked it out of the park! The taste of the rib tibs and catfish fillet were to cry for! Good moisted meat that had a good pork and smoke taste; fried to perfection fish that don't miss. The service was excellent and this place is a great place to bring family, friends, or employees. There was good overall barbecue being made here. There is also rich history in the community serving others. I love the pictures on the walls of how the establisent started and how their ministry is involved. You won't be disappointed!

Staff is very friendly. Was out of brisket at 4:00 pm on a Thursday which seems like a planning foul. The seating area is nice, a little chilly so bring a jacket. The tip and chick dinner was good. Sauce had lots of flavor but tons of bones in the sliced chicken. The pulled pork sandwich and just the meat were really good. Good smoke flavor with great sauce. The beans were great but a small serving size for the price. French fries seemed fresh and were hot. Overall it seems a bit overpriced for the serving sizes. Good food though.

This was my first visit to this place. My daughter had a half rack of ribs and I had amazing brisket! With 2 drinks it was 36$ out the door. I loved that everything was piping hot. A lot of barbecue places that I visit seem to serve food that isn't so warm. The surrounding neighborhood is slightly blighted but don't let that deter you from trying this place out! I will be back if I'm in that neck of the woods.

One of the best BBQ stops I’ve made on my long road trip. First of all - the BRISKET. I ordered sauce on the side and I used ZERO sauce, it was that good. It was toothsome, had some bite to it, a unique texture and INCREDIBLE beefy flavor. I can’t recommend the brisket enough. I also ordered ribs which they’re famous for. The ribs were exceptional, some of the best I’ve had, but still... THE BRISKET. Oh, and great prices. The business has an awesome backstory you can learn about on the walls. Started by a black pastor and his wife, the bbq stand was originally part of his other business, a car wash! Originally serving mostly Black customers, word got out they had the best BBQ in town and soon enough whitey showed up too lol Nice outdoor eating space too. Go to Lark’s! I’ll be there anytime I’m in town!

Love Larks. New location is shiny, but the Que is still the best. Get the ribs or the rib tips. Brisket is a solid choice. Can't comment on the poultry or fish, I never get that far down the menu board. Get a large order of tips and serve in small crock pot at your next get together. Great old school mustard potato salad. There is a reason why Larks has survived and grown-Good Food-Great Service.

I gotta get back to Larks BBQ more often as today's rib tips were best I ever had - tender, meaty and flavorful with great sauce and white bread to sop everything up. Staff was friendly and facility was very clean, wall photos added a nice touch of community pride. Will return soon to try ribs, collard greens, mac and cheese and dessert. Well done Lark's!

The food here tastes GREAT! Its so great that you don't need any sauce. Which is awesome if you eat Keto and can't eat the sauce. I asked for no sauce. I got home to find my brisket and pulled chicken covered in sauce. I could at least wipe off most of the sauce on the brisket. The pulled chicken was thoroughly mixed through and inedible. If you're keto, or diabetic, you'd better triple verify with them so that they won't cover it all in sauce.

The staff here are incredibly cordial. We ordered the rib tips, catfish steaks, corn nuggets, fries, dark chicken, and Mac and cheese. Corn nuggets were amazing. Rib tips were solid, but way too much sauce for my liking. Catfish and chicken were dry. Max and cheese was soggy.

This is some of the best barbecue I have ever had and I lived in Kansas City for 2 years! Excellent dry rub and sauce deliver an outstanding flavor! Will definitely stop here whenever we are in the area!

Drove 2 hours for what was promised as the best bbq in all of Michigan. What I found was a sign that stated that Larks was closed due to staffing issues. I was told that Reverend Lark was a Pilar of the Benton Harbor community. One would wager that working for Reverend Lark would be considered an honor, and hundreds of members of the Benton Harbor community would fight a tiger to work for the great Reverend Lark. Unfortunately, either Reverend Lark is not paying his employees or the unemployed of Benton Harbor make more cash from cashing government checks. Sad indeed...I will not be traveling 2 hours to eat Reverend Larks bbq ever again. I suggest that if you are thinking of visiting Benton Harbor and Larks Bbq think twice and look for a bbq joint that is open. Sorry to say, but Rev Larks will not be visited by my family again.

Overall Larks is good. However they need to warn people about the spicy bbq sauce. It's like ghost pepper. Ordered my friend who likes spicy, and she could only eat 25% of her pulled pork sandwich. I tried it as well and everything was burning. Not happy.

Seems like the kind of place I would love, but the food fell way short for me. Service and atmosphere are great, food not so much. Had the brisket sandwich, which to me wasn't a brisket sandwich, it was chopped beef. I do like chopped beef and will order it at a BBQ joint, but it needs to be as advertised. And this wasn't great chopped beef in my opinion. Mac and Cheese wasn't bad, but really lacked flavor and seasoning. Hush puppies were okay, but small. Potato salad reminded me of supermarket deli PS, I expect to get a homestyle PS when at a BBQ joint. My friend had the Philly and said it was amazing... Will stop in one more time and give the ribs a chance, really want to like this place....

I tried the Brisket sandwich based on their recommendations. I added hush puppies to that. I have to say I was more than satisfied. I didn't get a BBQ plate so all I can say is that the brisket chopped and sauced was very good. If I'm in the area again I may swing by and just get some meat.

No frills bbq restaurant. Staff is friendly and helpful. I love that they grill their buns to capture the juicy meat. Not heavily sauced brisket sandwich was filling and tasty! I like that they let their meat sing lead as the light sauce takes chorus to textured and great mouth feel to chew. Soda comes in cans while I was there. Staff was on top of making sure tables, floor and restrooms ate clean! Now the pecan pie was just mouth watering! Definitely not store bought! The filling to the pie was slightly chewy with a caramel feel and taste that just melted in my mouth. I was just stopping for a bite to eat. But if I'm ever back in Benton Harbor, I'll be sure to stop here again!

Definitely not the best BBQ I've ever had. The servers were super friendly and the atmosphere was great. I'd recommend any of the pulled meat and any of the sides they're all great. Overall though, if you've had any BBQ from down south you'll likely be disappointed. The hush puppies are worth it though, they do those well.

Stopped in for BBQ ribs and they were amazing fall of the bone great flavor/sauce/spice to go along with the baked beans and fries. I’ll be back!

The place was clean. The white chicken was dry, with way too much sauce. The ribs were covered with too much sauce, which covered a bitterness, probably from smoking with green wood. Could not tell chicken from ribs due to sauce and meat cut, sides were swapped. Sides were smallish, cole slaw had too much sauce there as well. There were element missing: I could not smell smoke in the parking lot, ya should always smell the meat cooking in lot, KC, Memphis, and the hill country. I lived in Texas 12 years and Kansas 19, and know the best of Texas. Sauce anywhere but the side is not BBQ. My fault, I should have known to ask. Their menu was unique, meat only did not indicate per pound. If ya gotta ask, well, but never had a problem paying Snows in lexington $24/lb 15 years ago, and their beans were free as were cups of warm water. Larks place was clean.

Visited benton harbor and checked out this BBQ place. Extremely friendly staff member (DJ) who was working at the time. He brought out our food, after making us some recommendations (which were amazing btw). Just went above and beyond, you know? Asked us if we wanted any sauce, and even offered to make a custom hot + bbq sauce. At the end Im sure we annoyed him a bit with asking to take a picture of our group, but he obliged with a smile. Really appreciated his service. Just little things like this made our experience so good. The food was outstanding as well. 10/10 would visit again.

Brisket was tender, moist, barbecue sauce smoky. Some of the best bbq I’ve had to date. The Woman was well impressed with her catfish as well. Come check this place out!!

Oh. My. Word. Lark's is where it's AT! If you are looking for some amazing BBQ, look no further. The staff was very kind, our food came out quick, and was perfect temperature. I had the Rib Tips w/ 2 sides dinner (mac and cheese, and cheese fries) and I'm in heaven. That sauce is a great blend of sweet and a little heat. Ribs were SO tender. I will definitely be back, and bring more friends into the Lark Life!
