We stopped there in the afternoon. Most people come for sunrise or sunset when the light is just right. Also the tide is important, low tide you can walk across to the Temple , which becomes an island at high tide . As we we're leaving just outside the gate a parade of several villages we're marching toward us into the temple for a ceremony.

The optimal time to visit the temple is between six and seven hours after sunset. In any other case, the temple is open from 7 am to 7 pm. Should one visit Tanah Lot? One of the most important temples for Balinese Hindus, Tanah Lot is situated on a sizable rock off the shore. Tanah Lot Temple Bali - Things Need To Know Before Visiting Tanah Lot is one of the most important temples for Balinese Hindus. Additionally, this temple is among the top Bali tourist attractions the island has to offer! Therefore, visiting Tanah Lot is the finest thing to do in Bali for individuals who enjoy stunning sunset views.

The missus picked the tourist site for her Bali bucket list, so I planned a sunset visit and got there with 30+ minutes before the sun set (at 6.18pm that day). Can't recall exactly how much we paid to get in, but it should have been about IDR100+k for 2 adults, a child and the rental car. There's a bit of walk down from the carpark to the beach, walking through a wide avenue straddled by the typical souvenir shops. When we got to the beach, it was already filled with a couple of hundred sightseers who walked further out due to the low tide (high tide would have been a better sight?). Pretty impossible to take a shot that would not have someone else in it. Tanah Lot and its temples are beautiful, but on hindsight, it might have been better if we went during the low-peak times. We had a mini-phototaking competition within the family, looked at a few clear ponds that appeared due to the low tide, and left shortly after a 30 minute visit.

Tanah Lot Temple is one of Bali's most important landmarks, it is an ancient Hindu shrine perched on top of an outcrop amidst constantly crashing waves.

Stunning views across the temple. Definitely a good place to have lunch or drinks, while waiting for the sunset.

If u wanna look for some place to look sunset, this place is the best choice. There are also many different shops that u can visit. But there are some probability if the sun covered by the cloud, then u can't see sunset.

Lovely sea view. The temple jutted into the sea is a great add on, to the view. Lot of areas to walk around, enjoying the sea breeze.

Beautiful coastal scenery with great sunset view as well, although can get quite crowded. Need to pay to use the toilets here, if you go to the car park instead can use toilets for free which are clean as well. Plenty of shops to buy souvenirs and food and drink nearby. Recommended place for your itinerary.
