😠 Ditto all the bad reviews! I recommend you skip this place. It's a classic tourist trap. The gimmick is to sample the traditional dishes for 800 leke (for a single person) and everyone falls for it, including me. You basically order food on his terms. He points his finger to the choices on the menu... People often mention owner, restaurant, recommend, traditional, dishes, menu, Albanian, plate,

Ditto all the bad reviews! I recommend you skip this place. It's a classic tourist trap. The gimmick is to sample the traditional dishes for 800 leke (for a single person) and everyone falls for it, including me. You basically order food on his terms. He points his finger to the choices on the menu or the display, and you think you get a good deal because you get a lot or because he agrees to substitute (chicken for lamb). But when the plate comes out, he says that neither this was included nor that. I didn't get neither okra nor lamb. Just whatever he wanted me to have. The food was reheated - most of mine was either mushy, or dry, or burned. And it's not olive oil in those bottles, some scary stuff :-) On top of it, .5L water bottle was 100 leke! It's 50 leke in Ksamil's restaurants :-) If you must eat there, maybe order the individual dishes, not the gimmicky sample. By the way, Konstantin is Greek. I would not want the Albanians to have bad reputation. August 1, 2021

Where do I start? We came in because the owner was very persistent that the food was awesome. Because of the cheap price we gave it a shot. But all the dishes were all microwaved or still cold. The quantity was a lot but the quality is ....very poor. The salad was the only eatable dish I would recommend if you have to choose. It's an insult to the Albanian food to call this traditional food. It is not suppose to taste like this!!

The owner of the restaurant lied us telling that we could pay by card, after a meal he said it is impossible and tried to push us to pay in Euro using his exchange rate. What is more, he gave us higher prices than in menu... After we refused paying in Euro and agreed for normal as in menu prices one of his workers went with us to the city center to take money. It took so much time... Do not trust the owner, he is a problematic guy. I believe in Albania nothing will change as long as people would be acting as the owner of this restaurant. I am not recommending this restaurant. It is much better to use one on the other side of the road.

Cheaters. Give this place a wide berth. Unfortunately, the owner tried to cheat us. bill 1900 lek I paid by card. the owner told me to approach the card, but did not show the amount on the terminal. After my request twice, I was able to look at the display, and there was an amount of 19,000 Lek, which is 10 times too much. I showed him that it was the wrong amount - he sent the boy who was helping him with this payment terminal inside to correct it. when he wanted me to give him a payment card in his hand that he would approach it correctly - I did not agree. when I looked at the display there was again the amount of 19000 to be paid, and the owner insisted that I already approached the card or gave it to him. the boy went inside the restaurant with the terminal again. only after the 3rd or 4th attempt at the terminal did they enter the correct amount of 1900 and they still had some grudge against me in Albanian instead of apologizing. the owner of the neighboring bar just smiled looking at these situations ... The menu we got were outdated lower prices. in fact, you had to pay a bit more, but in this particular case I expected it because I asked about the prices earlier. but please take a look . I think he knew that this time he failed to trick the tourist. The food is mediocre - too greasy and 2 out of 4 correct not seasoned well. but you can eat for not a lot of money, or too much when they cheat you.

Trap trap trap!! Owner very pushy. We ate dinner there and the food was cold and greasy! But the worst thing was that insects were in our food!!! For the owner the situation was "normal" because it is so warm at the moment. He wanted to charge us in full for those two inedible and disgusting microwavable dishes and the wine (wine was ok)...rude!!! Don't go to this restaurant, you will be scammed!

Lovely place! Very friendly owner, super yummy homemade food for a more than reasonable price. Really enjoyed our lunch there😊 Had a salad, two mains and two beers for mere 1500lek and the owner gave us free raki as a compliment

The owner tried to scam us by giving the most expensive dishes in the menu. Don't go there. It's a tourist trap.

The food is nice, and the owner is very attentive. He let me stay while I was waiting for the rain to stop. The raki here is very smooth. I enjoyed dancing Albanian dance with other customers.

Delicious traditional Albanese food served by a beautiful Albanese family. The kid of the family speaks English quite well. I took the vegetable soup together with the soured milk casserole. Recommended place to eat after visiting the medieval castle of Berat.

The staff were great! The mix plate came a bit cold and the chicken was a bit dry. But not too bad. Great location though

Amazing traditional Albanian food! We arrived late in the city, we called the restaurant and they kept the kitchen open for us. The owner welcomed us warmly and suggested a mixed plate and luckily we followed his advice. We were surprised with two heaping plates filled with delicious traditional cuisine. The restaurant offers both great vegetarian and meat dishes. The eggplant, the rice, the beans and the feta pepper salad were outstanding. After dinner we got a plate of watermelon. An amazing authentic experience!

I do not recommend this place. We went there for lunch and we order meat with one at the menu was 800 lek per portion, (for 11 people) and also 2 spaghetti only with tomato sauce. We waited more than 1 hour and 30 minutes for the the spaghetti and they brought us only 10 portions of meat instead of 11 that we order. The staff was very unprofessional and very un polite. And in the end when we ask for the bill we saw there that they have written for 12 portions of meat and each one of them was 1200 lek per portion. I WOULD NEVER COME BACK AGAIN AT THIS RESTAURANT.

Great experience! Food was awesome. We chose a 'plate', resulting in all different local Albanian food. At the end we were even rewarded with a glass of Raki by the owner. Surely recommend it!

I had a light dinner with wine, with my husband here. I'm a vegetarian and the owner put together a really lovely meze for me, not always easy to find nice vegetarian food but it was lovely. Great location too, I highly recommend.

Lovely place to eat if you find yourself inside the castle. As vegetarians my wife and I really enjoyed their what they had to offer. It's a family owned business, we had a nice time chatting to them. Definitely recommend.

Probably one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in my life. What you get here is so special—a traditional meal cooked with love by an Albanian woman. No line cooks, no waitstaff, just an Albanian man and his daughter who does the cooking. Every bite is bursting with flavor and every dish is exceptional. Be sure to try the homemade wine. We ate here three times during our trip to Berat. It’s absolutely incredible—and the prices are very affordable as well.
