The rice terrace is beautiful and the owners are so friendly. Free to visit, just provide a little donation or buy some drinks or products from the family. This is a real rice farm run by a real family and aside from it being more scenic than the surrounding terraces, it feels really nice to be directly supporting and interacting with local farmers. I highly recommend this place for a visit. Entrance is THROUGH Tis cafe (they'll let you pass through, they're cool), down the hill and across the bridge. Mupu officially starts once you cross over the river.

Lovely husband and wife that helping tourists to have a great time at rice terraces. You can buy some ice drinks including fresh coconut. The place is free to visit but the donations for maintenance of the rice terraces are welcome. Thank you for keeping this place as it is🫶

Huge rice terrace with stunning views! Highly recommend to visit. Free entrance, but there is donation box and a local lady might ask for a small fee. Totally worth it anyway

Beautiful rice terrace that doesn't require an admission fee, just a donation box at the foot of the terraces, so give generously! Owners are lovely and friendly and are very knowledgeable about their work and the area. Just go through Tis Cafe to access it, they will show you the way.

The best rice terrace experience I could have asked for. Directly from the welcoming owner, that greets you at the entrance and explains more about the incredible work they do. You donate whatever you feel is fair/can. No hidden costs or imposing on you to take e.g. an IG picture on the swing. Amazing paths, that were not crowded even in the afternoon. Can only highly recommend!

At first we didn’t know how to enter into the rice terrace so had to ask someone on the Main Street. (Later we found out that you can access it by Tis cafe but we took a walkway by a yellow traffic sign that shows a road with many turns?) Once we got down to the rice terrace, we saw a donation box at the front and one of the owners kindly asked that we give her donation to keep the rice field going. At first, I didnt love the idea but thought it was at least better than the other ones that charge you 50K just to enter. After we walked around and actually explored the rice field, we were actually more than happy that we found this one. No one force you to buy anything in the field except that you’re dying already of heat and humidity after walking around the field under the sun that you would be actually glad to buy some drinks (of fair-priced beer or non-alcoholic drinks!). There were several benches under the shade for you to enjoy the drinks while looking out the rice terrace. They even had a cashless option as well! Lol So beautifully maintained by a kind, welcoming couple that on our way down, we actually wanted to give more. I would totally recommend it to those who could find their way down to it. Totally worth the visit and super pleasant!💕

Amazing rice field experience! Lovely local couple will be happy to share their beautiful traditional rice field and tell you all about it. You can enjoy fresh coconuts, a hammock and a free swing after a beautiful walk. They only ask for donations for the maintenance of the rice fields. You can enter through the Tis Caffe, just tell them you would like to visit the rice fields and they will let you pass.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the most incredible experience visiting this rice terrace! The owner's dedication to maintaining these lush, green fields for more than 20 years is truly commendable. The terrace is a mesmerizing sight, and I was welcomed with warmth and hospitality. The owner's passion for rice cultivation shines through in every aspect of this place. Plus, I had the pleasure of enjoying fresh, delicious coconuts during my visit. What made it even more special was that I took a nap on the swing with a perfect view of the rice fields. It was a serene and peaceful moment, and I felt completely immersed in the beauty of nature. If you're looking for a unique and awe-inspiring agricultural experience, this is the place to visit. I'll cherish the memories of my visit here forever!

Stunning views, I met the lovely lady who owns and farms the terrace with her husband. She took the time to explain how the whole process works and the systems. Please buy a refreshment from them on your walk even if you don't need it , it just helps to support them and donate into the box at the bottom, it means a lot to them. Accessed through Tis Cafe after spending the day at the pool

Beautiful rice terraces. It’s a pity that we visited when the harvest was already harvested, but this does not change the impressions. Nice hostess. You can buy bags of rice there (brown, white, black to choose from) for 1 dollar, make a donation and get cool photos. Admission is free through Café Tis. Just go down the stairs.

Instead of going to places that charge entrance fees, go trekking here. If you follow the trekking signs, the road continues. There are so few people that I wonder if this is the right road, but if you keep going up and down along the road, you will see a beautiful view. If you go up a bit, there is a hammock and a swing. It's free and you don't have to pay for the swing, but it's enough for those who don't want to take pictures and just want the experience. I tried to buy some after seeing a review saying they sold coconuts, but no matter how much I looked around, there was no one there so I just came down. I had a sweaty shower in the hot sun, but the view from up there was really pretty and I thought I had a good time. There is no shade on the way up, so a parasol or thin, long clothes are recommended. It is rainy season these days, so the floor may be muddy, so leave your precious shoes behind. (The Grab driver dropped me off at a paid restaurant before coming here. I was told it wasn't here, so it was "same same"..... I arrived after being told to go back to my original destination, so I checked with Google Maps to see if the driver had arrived at the location properly. Be sure to check it out.)

Lovely place among the rice fields, fancy restaurants and bars with pools are nice, but I am more happy in quiet places with this charming family. Coconut water was very nice and fresh.

It's the rainy season so it can't be helped that it rains, but the rice terraces are beautiful in the rain!

Amazing owner, so nice, available to explain all the process. Recommend it 10 out of 10. The entrance is free, you can give whatever you want to the owner in order to support him and his fields

The Mupu Rice Terrace in Bali is a captivating gem that seamlessly blends the tranquility of nature with the cultural richness of the region. Nestled amidst the lush landscapes of Bali, this scenic masterpiece is a testament to the island's agricultural ingenuity and timeless beauty. As you approach the Mupu Rice Terrace, the emerald-green tiers cascade down the slopes, creating a mesmerizing visual spectacle. The intricate patterns formed by the terrace walls are a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship of the local farmers who have cultivated these fields for generations. One cannot help but be struck by the sheer magnitude of the terraces, which seem to stretch endlessly across the undulating terrain. Each terrace reflects the wisdom of traditional Balinese Subak irrigation, a UNESCO-recognized agricultural system that has sustained the island's rice fields for centuries. The best time to visit is during the growing season when the terraces are adorned with vibrant shades of green, creating a picturesque canvas that is both calming and awe-inspiring. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a photography buff, or someone seeking a peaceful retreat, the Mupu Rice Terrace offers an idyllic setting that caters to diverse interests. The surrounding ambiance is filled with the harmonious sounds of nature – the gentle rustling of the wind, the distant chirping of birds, and the occasional laughter of local farmers tending to their fields. It's a sensory experience that immerses visitors in the authentic rhythm of Balinese rural life. While the terraces themselves are the main attraction, the panoramic views from higher vantage points are equally breathtaking. The Mupu Rice Terrace provides an excellent opportunity for hikers and explorers to venture through the surrounding landscapes, offering unique perspectives of Bali's natural splendor. To enhance your visit, engage with the local community. Interacting with the farmers provides valuable insights into their traditional farming techniques and the cultural significance of the rice terraces. It's a chance to appreciate the symbiotic relationship between the people and the land they cultivate. In conclusion, the Mupu Rice Terrace in Bali is a must-visit destination that seamlessly integrates nature, culture, and tradition. Whether you're drawn by the captivating beauty of the terraces or the opportunity to connect with the local community, this enchanting spot promises a memorable experience.

Magnificent authentic rice fields, far from the tourists of the tegallalang rice fields, which cost 50k/25k depending on the entrance and which are teeming with people. The locals welcome you with a smile, and a donation box is present.

😠 Regrettably, my experience at this place was far from satisfactory.
