Beautiful noble palace close to the Porta S.Giacomo with bas-reliefs of classical figures, if I remember correctly, by the great nineteenth-century sculptor from Bergamo C.M. BENZONI.It is a private home not accessible to the public until now.

The palace, an excellent example of neoclassical architecture, was built by the architect Simone Cantoni in 1770. In 1841 the palace was purchased by Count Giacomo Medolago Albani, ancestor of the current owners. Over time the palace underwent numerous transformations, becoming one of the most important buildings in the city and home to one of the most notable historical-cultural events of the time. The visits of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria with his wife Elisabeth of Bavaria and of the King of Italy Vittorio Emanuele II are testified by the commemorative stone slabs placed at the entrance of the building. Palácio muito bonito do 'século XVIII, porém não é aberto a visitação. Hoje é uma propriedade privada com moradores. Uma pena não ser um ponto turístico aberto a visitação.

Bergamo città alta Beautiful architecture, preserved and restored. Today, the high city is home to the rich or ultra-rich. The city is under UNESCO protection. Tre palle del Colleoni Next to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore is the Colleoni Chapel, the mausoleum of the condottiero Bartolomeo Colleoni. According to legend he had 3 testicles Now they are depicted on the entrance gates. They were already erased for luck

👍👍 VENICE IN BERGAMO ??? Bergamo is divided into two sectors: high (old) low (new). The visitor who arrives in Bergamo for the first time, has the impression that the old city has been placed on a pedestal. As if you wanted to show its magnificence. In fact, the upper town is a gem. Entirely rebuilt d...
