This is a must-see location for anyone hiking nearby. It is called "anchor hut" because during WWII a ship loaded with ammunition exploded in the Bergen harbor. It flattened the harbor area and killed many. Part of the anchor flew up in the mountains and landed near this hut, several kilometers away! Now the hut is owned by the local scouts. My cousin Nils Agnar Eldholm has helped worked with the scouts to rebuild and maintain this for 30 years. A really great hike is to ride the Tram up, and then walk over to this hut and others. Many good trails and hikes up here.

Haven't been inside and seen, but the cabin looks cool from the outside and has the cabin's history on a poster on the wall. A bit of the anchor for "Voorbode" is also here. It landed a little further down the mountainside in Sandviken, but was transported up here and lies behind the cabin. The cabin then changed its name from Fjeldly to Ankerhytten.

A gem of a rest area when you've been walking in the mountains for a while. The bit of the anchor that flew through the air as a result of the explosion at Vågen during the Second World War makes an impression! It would have been nice to have coffee served here, but until now I have never seen the cabin in use.

Beautiful peaceful place on Sandvikfjekket. With the familiar anchor from the big explosion in the wake.

The cabin is very cosy, but a bit small for 8 people, it is probably more intended for day visits than overnight stays. Feel free to visit it several times! A nice accommodation option for those who like it a bit intimate.
