First room was old and absolutely at the end of its lifespan, I've added pictures for those interested but it included: A bed with a broken leg, Stains on the walls, Stains on the heater, Doorhandle to the bathroom broken, Door to the bathroom They must have known this, there is no other way, giving out such a room is a disgrace. Luckily the staff was helpful and we got a new room assigned, overall better but the bed still seemed broken and the bathtub of this room had a leak. The only great thing about the hotel is its location, and even that has two facets: it is centrally located which means you're right in the city when you get out, but because of that it is noisy. Overall not a good experience, I would not recommend going here.

Had to change our rooms as the door would not lock. The new room did not have a working radiator or even hot water. Did not even clean our rooms. Both rooms seem to have not been used for so long. It was smelly and the floor was sticky. I don’t know how it would be in other floors but don’t go the 7th floor.

Ideally placed within walking distanceof Bergens shops, harbour and tourist attractions. Beautifully clean and tidy rooms with a well stocked breakfast room and friendly, helpful staff.

Great location with easy access to lots of parking in Klostergarasjen where you can also charge your car over night. The hotel itself seems pretty run down. Room was old and cold, bathroom was at the end of its life span and the single elevator up to our room on the sixth floor was working overtime at breakfast time meaning the stairs were the only real option. Super comfy beds and good breakfast though. And to be fair, it’s a pretty cheap hotel.

Location on the hotel is perfect. Just few minutes from main port. We got a spacy room with bath. Breakfast was also fantastic as always in Scandic hotels.

Customer service was ok, they just gave us a card. The rooms are old and the hallways are kind of eerie… No cosy feel, and some of the lights are broken. The other Scandic hotels were amazing but this one was mediocre. Plus, my mother, who has allergies, felt some dust allergy symptoms.

This is an old hotel. They're modernizing it. The new rooms are great. The old are large rooms especially in Europe. The bathrooms are old and need to be improved. The service is great.

Receptionist was pretty rude when we arrived, rooms were really old and could really need some renovation. Breakfast is great though!

Well what the other already mentioned: Old rooms, the bed is bad, i have stains on my wall. And the most important: In the whole hotel there NO air conditioning. In a *4* Star hotel where iam paying 200 euro per night. The advise from the staff is here to open the window. Thank god that this ingenious idea saved my day(it didnt). If you have the posibility avoid this hotel.

Staffs who were working, they have tried their best. But as a four star hotel, our expetation was higher compare to the amount we paid.

Bit below par. Plug doesn’t fit in sink, room a bit drab, fitting holes in wall, cracked sink, rusty hole in the bath, kettle with no plug in wall, equipment in gym didn’t work well - the kind of thing that doesn’t make you feel the place is particularly well cared for. Very central location. Staff functional, not overly friendly.

Breakfast is very good and has lots of things to choose from. Rooms are clean and spacious. However the room didn't have a number for the reception so if you want to call you can't although there is a telephone.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Room was OK. Note that, in our room, we had two steps to access the bathroom. Wasn't a problem for us, and not sure if all rooms are so. Better to check once in case you would find it challenging. They also have some rooms in mezzanine floor (without lift access - around 10 steps). We got one of those initially - We had a check-in suitcase (23 kg) that we didn't want to carry and climb up and down. Upon request, they changed it for us. We didn't find the beds very comfortable, but again that differs for each. Breakfast was excellent. There were sufficient vegetarian options, including warm dishes. Coffee was average though. In case you have to leave early in the morning, you can also request in advance to pack some breakfast for you in a box . Location is very good, 2-3 mins walk to the central area / fish market. It was overall a good stay.

Scandic Neptun needs a big renovation! Smell og old sewerage in the halls. Smell of old waterdamage in the rooms. Old waterdamages not repaired in the rooms! Lights not functioning in room. I see the management always answers «we are sad the rooms are bad» for the last 10 years when answering the reviews here, but takes no action to make the hotel better. Stay away from this hotell!

Great variability in the rooms. Some are great while others have damage or air quality issues. Much depends if your room is in the new or old side.

The service of the ppl in the breakfast area ruined my whole experience. Very clean rooms, front desk very polite and helpful. BUT when we came to the breakfast area, that was open to our understanding because on the reservation we made it said that it was open until 11 but in the elevator they have a sign that says is open just until 10. (That was one of the things the un polite lady from breakfast yelled as us, but I don't remember seeing such sign) The deal is that a lady came from the kitchen yelling at us (from the kitchen) that if "there's something she can help us with" we where very confused because the tone she was using, then se accused us from stealing the food that was for the employees. My friend returned the dish very mortified because she was talking to her in a very rude tone in English, and my friend only speaks Norwegian and Spanish she didn't understand what she was saying but her tone and her body language was telling her to get out from there as soon as possible. My friend was shocked and wanted to get out of that hotel as soon as possible. Conclusion the hotel is very clean and well located if you want to have a good general experience AVOID the breakfast area, you can get really nice breakfast in the restaurants around the hotel and enjoy your stay in Bergen, such a beautiful town full of historic amenities and places to explore.

An OK hotel. Not great, just OK. Breakfast buffet (as usual for Scandic) plentiful and varied, although the gluten-free options at this particular Scandic were very disappointing. Rooms were clean, but very shabby - a renovation is long overdue.

The location was really good but the rooms are completely different than the pictures you could see online. Our room has a pretty big hole and leaks on the roof. Toilet was not clean at all. It does not deserve the stars that it has. The pictures are after we tried to repair the ceiling…

Overall: great place to stay for one or more nights. Very efficient, clean and silent. Room: the room could use some upgrades. I understand keeping the old style aesthetic, but things like wall plugs and switches could be updated. And some equipment there is really unnecessary. It was all very clean as far as we could tell. The ventilation is not great, so we kept the window open while we were there. Thermostat control was confusing. Really appreciate the soap/shampoo being wall dispensers, the less packaging the better. Breakfast: we asked before our arrival to have some vegan milk available, and there was. But apparently only one liter, which was enough for us, but once it was done it wasn't replaced (maybe they could make it a permanent offer?). It's a rich breakfast, we made our own vegan muesli just the way we like it, also with some bread with plant-based butter, peanut butter, and jam. There is a good session of gluten free breads and crackers too. A good amount of fruits to pick from. Service: everybody was very polite and helpful, I think the service deserves an extra sixth star. Lunch box: during breakfast, you can buy and make yourself a "lunch box". You get some big papers from the waiter to make yourself some sandwiches, Norwegian style, and wrap them all in a paper bag. It's reasonably priced and costs less than half of a lunch in the city, serving both of us comfortably.

Good location, nearby funicular and Bergen station walkable around 10 minutes. There are good Indian restaurants nearby. Room was really nice, everything was in place. Staff was attentive and ready to solve our queries. We had breakfast included and it was really good with different types of food so you will get something even if you are vegan. Definitely recommend this place.

Modern hotel located in the heart of the city. No more than a 5 minute walk to shopping in any direction. Rooms are relatively small for more than one person, but suited me and my needs just fine. Hotel had a nice bar and restaraunt on the first floor. Breakfast was a wonderful spread with lots of variety. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Would come here again if I ever found myself in Bergen.

This hotel has excellent location, just near the harbour but close to the centre of town too. The included breakfast was good but be aware that breakfast is cleaned up fairly promptly at end of service. While I believe that not all rooms were as small as ours but be aware that you may want to check room size. One of our tour colleagues removed some furniture from the room to allow space for baggage. We also found that it was initially bewildering trying to find our way into and out of our room as several corridors had to be navigated - I expect this is the result of the hotel spreading into what was an adjoining building. Cheers

Much better than anticipated! Super friendly staff, best breakfast in Europe (maybe not, but it was great), good location. Our room was large and had a bathtub. It had two single beds and a fold out couch (which wasn't super comfy). The view from our room was of adorable Bergen.

PROS- Good location, big and clean rooms. The rooms at night were very quiet. The breakfast had a wide selection of sweet and savory stuff. It can get a bit packed but nothing that waking up early doesn't solve. The service in the reception was polite and helpful. The bathroom was clean and had a big bath. They also had a gym available to use, that I'd definetly try out if I come back as I was very tired, but it's nice to have the option included. 100% recommended if you're staying in Bergen for a few days. CONS- The pillows could be a bit harder/bigger, but overall a decent sleep. The cleaning service knocked on the door at 9am one day to do the room while I was getting changed

Have been staying there for four day as mandatory covid quarantine place. Rooms were clean, food was good as possible by requirements, staff were helpful with anything that you need. Hotel is placed in city center so easy to go to all places in oldtown. Recommend.

Old and worn down hotel, at least the part we lived in. Our first room had a broken toilet, but fortunately we got a new room. I would have thought we'd gotten a better room for booking almost half a year in advance, but is not the case. There are LOTS of noises, so I wouldn't stay here if you are sensitive about noise during sleep in or are easily awoken. Radiators bubble and fizz all the time (and we were here during summer), and all water consumption makes a lot of noise in the piping. Also people from neighboring rooms and hallway can easily be heard. Non-existent lightproof curtains (which I expect from this kind of hotel). The only thing I would like to highlight in this hotel is the breakfast, very good scrambled eggs, bacon and bread.
