KODE Art Museum is complex of four huge galleries which are located in the centre of Bergen. In every building are presented different exhibitions concerning art. Exhibitions presented in KODE 4 give the opportunity to see how art is changed from the 14th century to modern times. In this gallery, we can not only admire wonderful paintings of Norwegian masters but also see works of artists from abroad (e.g. Pablo Picasso). To conclude, visit in KODE is the perfect opportunity to admire and learn more about Norwegian art. This wonderful travel through the history of art is possible at a cost of one ticket (to all four galleries). KODE 4 is definitely worth seeing during a visit in Bergen!

Beautiful art museum in Bergen, and one of several KODE musems along a strip by a nice park. Large enough to spend some time here, but no so large as to be overwhelming. Nicely displays how Norwegian artworks tie in with other art from the same periods. When you purchase a ticket for KODE you get admission to all four museums.

The art scene in Bergen is amazing. In this particular area there are 4-5 major museums next to each other. The installation by Borre Saethre (the Last Dance) is fabulous.

Slightly on the expensive side, but you do get access to the other galleries too. The exhibition was extremely well put together with varied works from their collection. A few Munch's thrown in too.

One context free instance of abstract installation art with a repeating bonging noise. Quite the worst art experience of my life. On the other hand, the ticket gets you in next door. Maybe just go next door and skip this one. After a while I found a card saying it was about AIDS, which explains the glass blown condoms.

This Museum ( part of three houses) only had one contemporary art exhibition. See pictures and Video

Every year the town of Bergen gets together and creates an unique gingerbread city. This year, the exhibition is open until 31 December. The many rooms filled with gingerbread cookie models smelled and looked amazing. There were also mobile elements such as toy trains and ferris wheels. The only detriment is that all the signs and directions are only in Norwegian, however it is easy to translate and the staff can definitely communicate in English.

Collection of 4 museums, to be honest I’ve seen better museums, but for Bergen I think it’s very good, “Last Dance” installation looks very magical, however knowing why it was created may change your vision on this installation. Other museum is about sound design, quite popular direction now, however not for everyone. Other two are paintings by famous like Edward Munch, Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandinsky and not very famous artists. Mostly avant-garde artists, however there are many works made in different styles. A lot of Norwegian artists. If you have couple free hours in Bergen, after visiting some other attractions it’s a nice place to visit. Tickets cost 150 NOK for adults and 100 NOK for Students. You can buy them in place and one tickets is for all 4 museums

Delicious and interesting. Could be improved by a bit of alacrity.

I wish museum staff had thought to update their website or Google maps to note that Kode 4 is closed temporarily. I planned a full day around it based on the publicly available info saying it's open, but when I got there it was closed and museum staff confirmed this when I called.

Kode 4 queer gaze exhibition. One of the most intelligently curated art exhibitions I have ever experienced. Brilliant.

Various exhibitions, all included in one ticket! Almost everything was translated to English. + audio guide is included! I especially liked the “queer gaze” exhibition. But they have changing and permanent exhibitions.

Super-smart rotating shows. We were delighted to see a very insightfully curated show utilizing a queer art lens to examine aspects of the KODE's collections. We were especially delighted at the way they started by thinking about Norse magic as having queer implications. All the cards were in Norse and English and the level of detail narrating the progression was very engaging.

The permanent collection is small for the ticket price. Edward Munch paintings are out on rent probably until early 2023 but the ticket price has not been adjusted. If you want to see all KODE, it might be worth the price.

Wonderful art that showcases the fantastic Norwegian culture. Multiple buildings show off various artists and styles. A lot of exhibits were closed or being worked on when I was there, but still very worthwhile to visit.

Nice museum for Bergen . Checking out more these days . If you buy a ticket the day before around 4 you can use it the next day . It’s great !!!

It was a pity that we paid the entire ticket, but only two of the four buildinds were open. There are a lot of paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries, from different artists as Dahl, Munch and Picasso etc...

If you visit Bergen, Norway, and the weather is rainy, which often is, you should at least spend an afternoon visiting the Kode museums. The entrance fee covers entry into all of the facilities. The museums are all located along a street. The first Kode museum is closed due to renovations. But you could visit numbers 2, 3 and four. The fourth museum is focus mostly on paintings and also sculptures. It is more modern Art. Overall I think worth a visit and they have a pretty cool collection. You can easily spend 2 to 3 hours exploring.

Was pretty nice. It’s a must visit in Bergen. The security of the place was very rude to me and Kida ruined my experience in this beautiful place.

Went to view the art exhibition which combines the other 3 KODEs nearby. Beautiful building and really interesting exhibits. Plenty of information shown about them all. This was a lovely way to learn about the various exhibits and artists. Highly recommended.

What a lovely museum! There is currently an Astrup exhibition on (until Dec 2019 I think) which is beautiful. There is also a permanent modern impressionist exhibition including several works by Picasso, and other notable modernist artists.
