Everything about Grits & Grace says welcome! Their message, which is to say, the origin of their name is displayed on 2 wall hangings which define the words- grit and grace, placed next to an antique hand mixer and a sign that says "All because two people fell in love". The decor is neat and colorful, with retro metal chairs and antiqued table tops. But let us get to the food! The chunky, corned beef hash (homemade) is the best I have eaten in a long, long time! The same goes for biscuits (also homemade) and sausage gravy. The cheese grits were so creamy and smooth they slid right down the hatch. Even the chocolate milk was noteworthy- generous, syrupy squirts running down the insides of the glass, just like we made it when we were kids. "Comfort food and a family place" says the sign over the door. They mean it! I will be back for some chicken and waffles next time, so should you. This is a local business and gathering place worth supporting! Update 4/24/23- while it may not help lower my golf handicap (or, for that matter, my cholesterol), the Bobby Jones breakfast may be my favorite breakfast meal of all-time!

I would pass by this place on my way to work. It was a very unassuming hole in the wall. I then met a guy (who's now my friend) named Scott who recommended this place. He works there, and I decided to try it out, and boy was I amazed. The atmosphere puts me in the mind of a down home country eatery. The smells coming from the food was intoxicating to say the least. I ordered an avocado toast, and a corn beef sandwich on rye. The food was awesome, to say the least. I was the only black guy in the establishment (I thought it was gonna be an Eddie Murphy 48 hours moment lol), and the staff treated me as if I was a guest in their dining room. I will definitely be coming back here in the near future. This is my new comfort food spot.

I took my family to this little known restaurant because it came highly recommended. We traveled a half hour from our home to this location, and it was not worth it. Our waiter never came back to refill my coffee or check on us. They also never came to see how we were doing with our meals. I ordered the "griddler" which is two French toast sandwiching two large sausage patties, 2 eggs, and a slice of cheese. Sounds good right. Well, mine was FILLED with egg shells. So I didn't eat it. My sons fat Carl breakfast sandwich also included egg shells. My wife's and daughter's were okay, but they lacked flavor. This was disappointing since we paid $65 without tip for this experience. What did they do about my meal? They didn't comp me my meal, no they made another one that wish included egg shells. Not going back.

Really disappointed by the lack of quality. This place used to be a go to. Within the last six months, I've gotten ill after eating here. The kitchen used to take extra care preparing gluten free options. I can no longer recommend as a gluten free food safe kitchen. The last time I ordered, they cross contaminated my order with a piece of real bread and were not apologetic about my throat closing up/having to miss out on work. Their negligence and lack of compassion is the reason I would not recommend this place.

Outstanding! We don’t live in the area, but visit frequently, and we try to visit Grits & Grace when we do. A terrific menu of choices is exceeded only by the quality of the food and the friendly service. Very thoughtful and delicious combinations of ingredients and huge portions. Honestly, the single best Patty Melt I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot. Constant stream of patrons coming in while we were there, so obviously many locals feel the same. I wish this place was located where I live; I’d be there at least once a week.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary for breakfast. We have done GrubHub/door dash Grits and Grace once for a quick breakfast and liked it! So we wanted to go for a good breakfast. Absolutely amazing food! Delicious and filling. You have classic breakfast and brunch, as well as exciting dishes. I am a sucker for a little of everything - so I went with the sampler as well as butter grits since I never had grits before. My husband got the hash and eggs as well as sausage and biscuits (his eyes were bigger then his belly haha). Everything was so good. He also got a traditional cup of coffee where I got to have a sweet iced coffee that I love. Atmosphere is lovely, a lot of regulars or people who seemed to know one another were there and saying hello to each other, conversing a bit. It makes the place feel very homey. The building is small but it doesn't make the dining experience bad. If anything, it adds to the honey aspect. The cooks, waiters/waitresses, and staff work so efficiently as well that everything just flows. On top of also doing orders for delivery! Because of this, there is a chance you may have to wait, but it is worth the wait. Parking is a little crazy when busy but it isn't anything terrible. When weather is nice, there is a small outside setting where you can eat which is very cute.

Good morning I had breakfast here yesterday the food was good. The service was outstanding. The girl was so friendly and I could see the owner walking around asking people how it was in the food was good. The only issue I have with all the places down here in Ocean County no one gives you a lot of food potatoes don’t cost that much money load the plate up three slices of bacon. OK toast was very goodand the food was good they just didn’t give me a lot of food

I'd go six stars if I could. The food here is amazing - I recomme the corned beef hash. Everything I've had here is fresh and not out of a can. Service is always super friendly, too.

The food of this place is absolutely unmatched. Comfort food is an understatement. Their menu is as original as you can get, and nothing disappoints. The only downside I can give is they aren't open long enough! Would love to see their take on some dinner dishes.

Had a delicious omelet this morning, and my table had biscuits & gravy, along with corned beef hash & eggs. I forgot to take photos. I was so hungry. The table next to me ordered the funnest breakfast. I'm not sure what it was called. I'm calling it a pancake taco. I took a picture. Pancake, with Taylor ham, scrambled eggs & cheese. Can't wait to make a variation of this at home. The kids are going to love it. Breakfast was great!

First time there. Food was good and at a reasonable price. The servers were pleasant. Parking is limited and tight but we will definitely return.

The best best best place for breakfast or lunch with a nice soup. Everything’s delicious. The wait staff are really nice and try their absolute best but they can’t help that they’re so busy at all times! My family and I come in at least once a week and we have no complaints. Thanks Grits & Grace ❤️

Linda makes the best coffees! Every time I go to Grits and Grace in Bayville, I always leave happy, full, and warm-hearted. Every employee there is great and genuine, the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is amiable and heart-warming. Sometimes it can get very busy with long waits, but other than that, everything about this place is great and I never have anything negative to say.

First time coming for breakfast and will not be our last!!! Super friendly staff & yummy food. We went around 9am on a Tuesday and it was pretty packed. I bet there is a wait on weekends.

This morning I came to have breakfast with my mother we always order the same food every time I asked my waitreshave my home fries well done I was thinking they normally keep it on the grill a little longer well I got deep fried home fries I was disappointed ☹️ I asked my waitress about it and she said she doesn’t know?? Well I have worked in a diner before I know how it works and what home fries should look like the waitress never came back to check on us or refill our coffees I had to ask someone else for it I’ll leave a picture of my deep fried potatoes. Hope next time I come back here hope it will be a better service.
