I came to emergency around 10am and was waiting till 4pm for them to take me in. Afterwards I got kept on HAUS 9B clinic. Was tired and went to sleep early. Today I got breakfast, and was waiting for a doctor to came. He came and his skills were basic. So I didnt trusted him and requested a senior. Then senior came being so superficial and rude. I have no nerves for this kind of people so I told him that he is very rude not allowing me to express my problem. Meanwhile my oncologist called me to check up on me because I told him I landed in Emergency and he wanted to talk with this quasi doctor, and guess what - superficial call him doctor refused to talk about my case with my oncologist. My doctor was shocked with this behaving. Now I called my lawyer and I will sue this hospital and doctor because they refused to provide me a medical assistance because " bad relation between patient and doctor" and my case isn't urgent. I guess thats why decided to keep me as stationary patient here. I have to mention that 2/3 nurses are great. Also they skipped my lunch today for no reason. And I asked about it,and they gave me 2 slices of bread,butter,2slices of cheese and one tomato. Horrible! People if you ever end up in Berlin avoid this hospital. Doctors are rude and superficial and the have no skills.

Unfortunately I can only give one star, which is still generous. This hospital is by far the worst I have ever been to. Yesterday at 6:30 p.m. I went to the emergency room with severe pain that had lasted over 10 hours and didn't leave until just after 11 p.m. The long wait is common, but the staff... I don't even know where to start. The lady at reception was extremely unfriendly and made me wait at registration for over 20 minutes even though no one was there before me. After two and a half hours, I initially only had my blood taken, which was fine. Then after another 2 hours I was asked into a patient room, only to find out that there were no senior radiology residents present and they couldn't help me properly. The annoying thing was that they could have said that from the start - then I would have preferred to stay at home with my pain. The IV on my arm was empty after an hour and my partner had to get a nurse who was sitting in the nurse's room with others to change the IV, even though she said she would be back in 20 minutes, which as I said extended for an hour. The highlight, however, was the next day when I was told I could come back for an ultrasound by 3:30 p.m. When I was there again today (10 a.m.), I was told in radiology that I had to go to the emergency room again, which would mean waiting for hours again... no thanks! A chaos with unfriendly staff (apart from the attending assistant doctor, who was at least able to do something about the pain). My recommendation: definitely look for another hospital!

My wife spent 2 days at neurology department of this hospital. Reading all those negative comments really scared us a lot. But we had an amazing experience here - the doctors and nurses were very friendly, they were nice to us and spoke English because our German is not good enough to understand medical terms. The personal here made sure you understand everything and explain each step of examination and results. One thing to improve though is waiting time. We were asked to come to hospital to be hospitalised at 8 but we had to wait 4 hours for that to happen. Still, I cannot complain too much about that because my wife was not in pain and I think they were busy with big amount of patients who required immediate help. also the food was average. But hey, it’s PUBLIC hospital and not a 5-stars hotel

The emergency room is absolutely not recommended. A family member was admitted there at 11:30 a.m. and it was clear that she had to stay there. At 7 p.m. she was still lying in a large room with about 20 other patients. My calls in between to ask about the status were very sobering. Very, very unfriendly, stressed staff. And if you don't feel like talking anymore, just hang up. The gentleman in the telephone exchange was also very unfriendly. If you say you're complaining, it's almost laughed at. "Do it," is the answer. It couldn't be more callous and inhumane. Absolutely not recommended. 1 star is still too much here.

This hospital is one of the worst hospitals I have ever visited in my life, and I have been in many bad hospitals. The staff, whom I cannot currently find their names on the website, are to say the least, very very unprofessional, unpleasant, rude, and should be immediately fired for their actions. We came with a choking related emergency, and they made us wait for almost 8 hours(!!), only after we asked them again and again and remind them of their jobs they in the end let us in. If it wasn’t for us insisting, we would’ve waited for a whole day I guess. Imagine, someone with extreme pain just waiting all night for 8 hours. We had to almost beg them for at least painkillers while wait for so long. Of course, not to mention how they treated me for not speaking native German with them. They simply should not be healthcare professionals. Because they have zero respect, zero care and zero empathy for sick people in pain. People were screaming from pain and in the meanwhile the staff were watching TikToks and laughing. To summarise, this “hospital” and its “healthcare workers” are complicit in medical neglect. I hope you read this: Shame on you!!!

I got operated for my stage1 cervical cancer in this hospital and will regret my decision forever. No doctor, no nurse paid any attention to my complaint and took any measures, resulting in complications +10 days of extended hospitalisation. 1: Not a single doctor informed me of the findings and their rational to operate. My questions were answered with “it’s your choice not to operate”. As if i can decide when they don’t even share the info. 2: been told i have to be at the ward by 7am on the day of operation, the op actually took place at 16;30. 3: as it was a op under general anaesthetic, i asked to stay for the night after the op. Doctors and receptionists all insisted i “can” go back home the same day”, but i argued against. After waking up from the general anaesthetic, the nurse told me to “pack my things and go home”. I had to go through the whole conversation again to insist i stay til the next morning. 4: after the op, I had persistent strong pain in my lower abdomen and had large amount of bleeding from the operated site. Symptoms that no doctor told me I should expect. The bleeding was so strong i had to change napkins every 30min, and at one point had to change the bed mattress as diapers was not sufficient to hold the blood. Pain was getting to the level that was intolerable. I called the nurse to tell my symptoms but all i got was “it cannot be that painful”. 5: in attempt to stop bleeding, they literally shoved in huge tampons. Imagine being roughly shoved in cloths after cloths to your vagina that is freshly opened and has open wounds. 6: tampons did not stop the bleeding and when they took it out, it was like being rubbed with a sandpaper inside your bleeding womb. I fainted due to both pain and from massive bleeding and it was only then that the doctors took my symptoms serious. I had a second emergency op that night. 7: i lost too much blood it took me ten days before i get discharged. 8: i wanted to know exactly what happened, so asked for medical documents. Its been more than a year and to this day i am still waiting for them to arrive (they probably casually decided they don’t need to send me)

I had an extraordinarily positive experience, I couldn’t have imagined anything better. I planned a surgery to my shoulder in June ‘23 for August ‘23 for an issue I had since childhood. All the doctors and staff that I talked to were very helpful and caring despite I don’t speak German (yet 😊). I am very grateful I chose this hospital and I would recommend it to anyone!

I don't know what type of medical employees are being hired in this clinic. I want to report ESMERALDA, one of the employees at the emergency triage. She was clueless of her own system and used coloquial words to minimize people's diagnostics, which is unacceptable, unprofessional and absolutely ignorant. Every single person that goes to the ER, deserves equal respect and understanding, if she is unable to work with basic principles, then she shouldn't be there at all! The system should protect patients not ignorant workers who behave as if they got their degree on a raffle!

THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE , WE WAITED FOR A DOCTOR TO COME FOR 3H WHILE MY FRIEND WAS IN THE WAITING ROOM. THERE WERE 2 MORE PATIENTS WAITING IN THE EMERGENCY AND WHEN I ASKED THE DOCTOR IF HE SPEAKS ENGLISH HE RESPONDED IRONICALLY “ I SPEAK ENGLISH RATHER WELL”

The one star is absolutely justified. Seems to be a commercial institution that focuses on profit and not people. They seriously believe that it is normal to wait over 4 hours, even with instructions from a doctor. The only good thing was that the queue number was quickly drawn, combined with a 5-minute wait so that you could be registered. I've heard from everyone around that patients sometimes wait up to 7 1/2 hours and that probably seems to be the average. Another patient had to have an image (X-ray, MRI or similar) taken again because nothing was visible in the image. The doctors and medical staff seemed very friendly and tried hard, but the waiting time is absolutely outrageous, which is probably due to the management and the associated lack of understanding between the raison d'ĂȘtre of such an institution and the corresponding pay and number of employees. Then you also have to beg to get a lounger because you're just not interested in walking around all the time or having to sit on these cheap chairs, some of which are broken. The other good thing was the option of free water and paid drinks and food with free toilet use to make the time a little more bearable. The clinic can be happy that people rely on this facility, otherwise the patients would at least no longer be forced to wait that long.

catastrophe!!! At the first aid: you have to find where to register yourself, it’s really confused bc it’s nit well it shows and no one tells you unless you ask other patients; secondly, we wait for registration right before the way the ambulance come and go; finally you get your registration for FIRST AID and now wait for you are called. (Ps: there is no screen to show number, no list to be showed, you just remember what’s your name and make a wish that someone will find you at the big waiting room!

I see many bad reviews for the hospital but this review is for the Kreißsaal (baby delivery rooms) and and recovery area for after birth. These facilities are in Haus 35. We were there for around 3 days. All the staff were amazing, very caring, extremely helpful, 24/7 support for us in this crazy process. The facilities and rooms were nice, all with a good view out into the surrounding trees. All round a great experience 💜

I got an online appointment in Vivantes Viktoria Klinikum but they didn't accept me when I was already there. I asked why.. they said that my case (not having period for 3 months) is not an emergency case. I asked the receptionist if I could at least talk with the doctor and get at least some medical advice since I have an appointment and I already waited for an hour but the answer was simply NO. Pls dont accept an online appointment if you are not willing to give at least a medical advice! very unprofessional!

I ended up in the clinic for an emergency. I had a surgery and ALL THE DOCTORS were super lovely and explained everything to me. They are very professional and also speak English. Almost all the nurses were very nice (except two of them that I complained about because they were not professional and one was also aggressive). I understand that it is a very stressful job but that does not justify mistreatment (and when we are there because we are sick, which is even worse!). But except those two nurses (oh, I almost forgot to say they both didn’t speak a word of English) everything was GREAT!!! I felt very safe with the doctors and I’m absolutely grateful đŸ„ČđŸ™đŸ» I would suggest improving the signs at the entrance since it is not clear at all and I had to go up and down many times in the elevator (and also change buildings many times), which of course is not pleasant at all if you feel bad. Thank you very much to all the gynecologists. Thank you đŸ™đŸ».

My wife and I chose Vivantes AVK for giving birth to our daughter. Being first time parents the whole process was very new and stressful to us. All of the staff were amazing during our stay (4 days). Hebammes were extremely pleasant, friendly, and always went above and beyond. The nurses, doctors (Dr A.M) were also amazing despite being busy with patients. Thank you, we will never forget the moments we spent in the hospital and will always cherish the memories

Hospitals always get a bad rep. I had to go to the emergency centre on a Saturday. The entrance to the Rettungstelle was hard to find and the nurses working there are quite grumpy and don't want to interact with you. The check in process is a bit chaotic and the waiting rooms don't have a display. This means you're waiting in a larger area and always have to pay attention when they call out your name which is not always easy when you have a foreign name. But the doctor who took care of me was thorough, put me at ease and handled things efficiently to give me a diagnosis. They need to work on organizational issues and the nurses could be more helpful, fort instance, they even refused to give me a band aid. But then again, they are a hospital and they save lives. So I won't rate them badly because I know they have different priorities.

I didn't want a hospital birth for my 2nd child because of previous trauma during a hospital birth with my 1st, so I started my labour in a Geburtshaus. However, when there were complications I was transfered to Auguste-Viktoria and despite being really anxious about it I had a very good experience. I chose this hospital because it's one of the few that allow two support people in the delivery room, so I could have my husband and my doula. The birth was very complicated but the doctors and midwives did everything to ensure I had a vaginal birth, even when that looked impossible, and they encouraged me even when I was ready to give up. They made a massive effort to speak English the whole time, and kept me informed of everything going on and all my options. After the birth the care was very gentle and respectful. The ward is very quiet and well-staffed. There were a few downsides (the anaesthetist took 2 hours to arrive because it was the weekend, and he was the only person who didn't really listen to me or talk to me, and my placenta was thrown away although I'd asked to keep it, and the food is very plain! After an 18-hour labour it would be nice to have more than a piece if bread and a slice of cheese for dinner - hehe) but given all the other circumstances I wouldn't really complain about this. Overall very happy, best experience I've had in a German hospital, and would totally recommend to anyone.

The doctor was really nice and explained everything in detail and what we should do next. The nurse was weird and condescending. First he gave us some German grammar lessons when we were trying to speak in German. Then he decided he loves stereotyping people so he did an “Indian nod” and winked to check if we understood the joke. Also proceeded to tell us what an emergency room is and what is considered an emergency. But was kind enough to say I am not here to judge😏. The doctor was really good though so I guess I could ignore the nurse.

I was operated here on my shoulder by Dr. Pauly. He was the first person to correctly diagnose the problem after more that a year of shoulder issues. Everytime I come for a follow up appointment, I feel in good hands, he and the whole team go out of their way to help you, its a very refreshing experience in Berlin!

After a brutal broken heel injury my foot became badly infected. If it was not for the doctors, surgeons and nursing staff at Vivantes Auguste Viktoria Clinic, I could very well have lost my foot due to the infection. Very grateful to all at the hospital for saving my foot!!! Bless you all who work there!!

My wife and I gave birth in AVK. It was such a pleasure from A to Z. The Hebammes were amazing : all of them. Confidence, finding the good words when they needed to. Not only a job, really felt like a vocation there. Thank you V & N for your work and your implication in this beautiful moment. Will recommand again and again. Julieta & Alex.

Today I went to the emergency room for a breast infection, after calling a thousand times last week without receiving an answer and sending emails to the gynecological emergency service address. The unfriendly person at the registration desk told me that if I wanted to be treated I would have to go to the delivery room and wait there for 8 hours. What a shame that these hospitals do not care about the health of a mother and her newborn. Inhumane service

Our son was born in AVK in 2024. The nurses, midwives and doctors at the hospital were extremely friendly, compassionate and caring. It was a difficult birth that they handled brilliantly. I couldn't have asked for a safer environment for the birth of my child. Thank you to everyone who helped bring him safely into the world. I wish every pregnant woman could receive the same level of care.

Trustful. For foreigners in Germany. I know it is very hard to approach to the hospital. Because all we have different system each other, so hard to understand the others. But, If you have some trouble in your health, don't hesitate to visit this hospital. They do really take care of you. Even if you have any experience of discrimination in anywhere else, You will never felt that kind of problem in this hospital. But first, please make your German public insurance as much as you can. When you are ok, it is not so useful, but if you have a problem, it really helps you and protect you.

The care is friendly and good. I am a bit disturbed that the hospital grounds are thick with cigarette smoke. And they provide endometriosis patients with bread (gluten inflames endometriosis).

I was a bit worried, based upon the other reviews... My experience was good. I called at 8.30AM this morning and was able to get an appointment at 10:15 in the Orthopaedic department. Nice. I had to wait 10 minutes longer and was seen at 10:25. The doctor took time with me and I left with a prescription and a follow-up plan. I'll be going back there in a little while, so I'll update after the second visit. No complaints for today. Seems like a lot of the complaints are related to the accident and emergency department, which thankfully I didn't need to use.

My 81-year-old mother was sent home from the emergency room at midnight yesterday after a sodium-deficient stroke. The doctor's report said she left on her own volition, which is not true at all. Since she can barely walk because of dizziness, she and I also tried to reach the doctor who was treating her, but we were both treated rudely on the phone and not connected.

A big THANK YOU to the nurses at ward 9a. When I was there as a patient from January 2nd to January 4th, they were so accommodating, helpful, accommodating and friendly, so that I felt looked after, in good hands and very comfortable. PLEASE treat the patients with RESPECT and don't forget what they do tirelessly every day despite the lack of staff. Where would we be without nursing staff? Once again a big THANK YOU. I hope it will also be forwarded to station 9a. Connected with kind regards Rainer Schulz
