I
came
to
Berlin
from
Canada
where
wait
times
for
surgeries
and
nerve
conduction
studies
are
very
long.
I
was
having
a
strange
muscle
atrophy
in
left
leg
without
any
pain
whatsoever
and
mild
pain
in
left
arm
.
I
Have
noticed
my
eyesight
getting
worse
and
motor
coordination
was
also
deteriorating.I
was
given
only
physical
therapy
in
Canada
and
no
one
could
understand
what
the
issue
was.
Upon
arrival
in
Berlin
i
made
appointments
with
a
few
renowned
neurosurgeons
and
did
EMG
and
nerve
conduction
study.
I
couldn't
get
clear
definitive
answer
from
even
those
surgeons
who
work
at
Charite
hospital.
It's
considered
top
notch
but
didn't
work
for
me.
I
had
no
pain
and
no
visible
disc
bulge
on
MRI
but
my
leg
was
getting
weaker
and
weaker.
Some
doctors
hinted
at
ALS
and
that
threw
me
into
depression.
This
would
have
been
a
death
sentence
more
or
less.
I
was
lucky
to
contact
the
people
at
Avicenna.
They
were
able
to
identify
highly
unusual
double
prolapse
at
L4
with
one
prolapse
that
extended
upwords
through
the
side
and
one
downwards
squishing
the
nerve
root
.
Also
i
was
diagnosed
with
c4-c5
spinal
cord
compression
and
myelopathy
that
caused
my
balance
and
walking
problems.
No
neurological
disorder.
Those
findings
explained
it
all.
I
took
a
leap
of
faith
and
cancelledl
my
spinal
tap
appointment
and
further
MRIs
and
other
research
into
neurological
disorder
that
was
suggested
by
other
doctors.
I
booked
surgery
at
Avicenna.
Today
I
am
convinced
i
made
a
right
choice.
My
muscles
are
coming
back.
My
hand
doesn't
hurt
.
Even
eyes
are
seeing
better
a
bit.
So
many
things
depend
on
spinal
cord
and
it's
proper
function.
I
am
very
convinced
that
this
clinic
was
the
best
in
Berlin
for
my
complicated
spinal
neurosurgery
and
c4-c5
neck
disc
prosthetic.
With
all
my
heart
and
mind
i
would
like
to
advise
more
people
to
trust
a
good
judgement
of
Dr
Munther
Sabarini
and
Dr
Abu-Owaimer.
Many
neurosurgeons
operate
out
of
big
hospitals
with
a
very
standardized
approach.
Dr
Sabarini
MADE
his
own
clinic
and
it
runs
like
a
clock.
And
that
is
something
as
well
to
show
that
this
is
indeed
an
extraordinary
person
with
true
passion
for
neurosurgery.
What
is
also
different
here
is
that
both
Dr
Sabarini
and
Dr
Abu-Owaimer
are
actually
very
kind
and
empathetic
people.
This
is
a
very
rare
combination
of
excellent
brain
and
critical
thinking,
passion
for
neurosurgery
and
kind
compassionate
heart.
From
what
I
have
heard
Dr.
Sabarini
is
also
known
as
researcher
into
new
better
surgery
practices
and
he
changed
some
things
making
it
much
safer
then
years
before.
I
am
lucky
to
get
my
life
back
together.
I
am
lucky
to
have
met
them
and
lucky
to
get
the
procedure
done
here.
The
clinic
is
small
,
there
are
very
friendly
and
smart
people
who
work
here
and
they
all
treat
each
other
with
respect
and
truly
care
about
the
patients.
Thank
you
Olga,
Marina,
Baba,
Nadal,
Vim,
Magdalena,
dr
Shultz(
anesthesiologist).
I
am
sorry
I
don't
remember
every
single
name
,
anesthesia
and
painkillers
made
my
memory
a
bit
worse
temporarily.
You
are
all
good
people
and
doing
your
job
really
well
Oh
and
food
is
amazing!
I
will
miss
Magdalena
lentil
soup:).
Btw
physical
therapy
is
included
in
the
treatment
and
all
before
surgery
and
after
surgery
MRIs
too.
There
is
no
hidden
upcharge
or
surprise
on
anything.
And
the
cost
is
similar
or
lower
to
what
other
top
notch
surgeons
were
mentioning.
I
have
asked
Dr
Abu-Owaimer
to
pass
on
my
information
to
anyone
considering
the
treatment
at
this
clinic.
If
you
are
looking
for
more
information
or
patient
feedback
don't
hesitate
to
contact
me.
I
will
answer
all
questions
and
try
to
help
where
i
can.
If
you
end
up
having
back
or
neck
problem
in
my
humble
opinion
Avicenna
is
a
great
choice.
And
yes.
All
five
star
reviews
are
real.
This
place
is
exceptional
