The stay was a dream! Villa Thamburu has everything your heart desires: The rooms are very stylishly furnished. The restaurant is highly recommended. The staff is very friendly and attentive and available at all times. You not only have a nice pool right in front of you, but also the beautiful sea. The owner has a great rapport with his guests and you feel welcome from the first second. I will definitely come back!

A great place to stay for a few nights. Food was the main highlight, as it felt like something from a Michelin star restaurant. The design of the hotel is gorgeous, with all of the little details considered. Whilst priced a bit higher than many comparable hotels, I would stay here again as once you check in, you understand what you are paying for. Staff go to great length to make your stay comfortable and accomodate all of your requests.

With this top modern boutique hotel located on an idyllic palm-fringed sandy beach our paradise dreams came true. Designed by a Portuguese architect Villa Thamburu offers stylish comfortable suites and rooms made most of natural materials and allowing the utmost space and privacy we were looking for. The lush and well-kept garden area with a 20-meter swimming pool was the perfect spot to be active or just relax. On top of this unique experience of nature Villa Thamburu stands out from other luxury resorts due to a delicious East-West cuisine prepared and served by highly competent and friendly people in its outdoor restaurant Tharinho. In short, this mix of natural paradise, spectacular building design and genuine hospitality has become for us what is commonly pictured as a perfect holiday destination. We had a wonderful stay here! The hotel is brand new, perfectly maintained and the atmosphere is peaceful and romantic. The staff is super attentive and helpful. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to relax!

Bentota was the last leg of our 3 weeks holiday in Srilanka, we were looking for a quiet relaxing beachside hotel to end our trip - Villa Thamburu was the perfect spot for that ! It was way beyond our expectations :) We believe it to be an actual experience to stay at Villa Thamburu, the architecture of the hotel, by Ricardo Flora, a Portuguese Architect, was just amazing. There was a perfect balance of the wood and other different materials used, it was pleasurably minimalistic while being inviting and cosy, the space was very well arranged, and the interior design was just spot on to compliment the structure, there was a certain fluidity that made our stay all the more enjoyable! The hotel had chosen to work with a local contemporary artist for the different art displays on the wall, first we were intrigued and to our surprise we found a lovely leaflet in our room with the details of the artist and each work that was on display. The rooms were spotless, spacious and very beautifully designed with a great view on the beach ! We had all the necessary amenities ! My personal favourite was the bathrobe 😍 The lounge area, the pool area and the dining area were again lovely places to sit and relax. The fish pond was occupied by some very beautiful and colourful fishes, a lovely sight each time we come down the stairs ! The direct access to the beach was perfect ! The beach view from the hotel, literally from any spot was picture worthy ! The hotel had even arranged for an inhouse tuktuk for when we needed to get into town to run some errands - that was very helpful :) Every single person working there was very kind, helpful and friendly. We were always welcomed with a smile, which adds greatly to a lovely stay. We would like to thank the Manager and all the staff for making our stay so pleasurable, it has been an unique experience, wish we had more time. We will definitely come back to Villa Thamburu and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Srilanka ! Perfect spot !

The stay at this hotel was excellent. Perfect location to relax, very well-trained and friendly staff. The food tastes excellent, and the hotel grounds look like something out of a fairy tale. Everything is well-maintained and hygienic. I can absolutely recommend it, and I would gladly come back!

Villa Thamburu is an excellent holiday destination for couples and families. The location is not too far from the Bentota town. The place itself is only a few months old and everything is maintained well. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food served is fantastic. Would definitely recommend this place and looking forward to staying at this place again on our next visit to Sri Lanka

Opened in December 2022, new, fresh, stylish and cozy. Old tiles, historic columns, tic elements are magnificently built into the interior. We stayed twice and I could say there is everything you need for a quiet, relaxing and private holiday. Thank you for the perfect service, looking forward to come here again.

Brand new property. Everything about this place is wonderful - the setting, the facilities, the staff and the food. Exceptional design and architecture where every little detail had been thought about. We enjoyed every minute of the stay in such an idyllic tranquil atmosphere. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpfull, they ensure every customer have a great experience. Especially would like to mention the great cuisine and the chef of Tharinho restaurant! The best hotel in our entire trip and definitely the best food we had!! The staff was amazing, the rooms are big and very comfortable. They have an amazing beach and pool so you never want to leave this place.

This is an absolutely outstanding hotel with exceptional service. From the moment we arrived we were blown away by Villa Thamburu. Newly built, the architecture and decor is stunning, and we couldn't have been more pleased with our room. The communal areas of the villa are also fantastic. The outside space is spectacular and perfectly maintained. A beautiful pool, and lots of different places to sit, either by the pool or right next to the beach, in the sun or in the shade of the palm and mangrove trees. The beach itself, which the hotel garden goes straight onto, is tropical beach picture perfect - a long stretch of sand, swimmable when we were there (January), and perfect to walk along to get a bit of exercise. Which you'll need as the food the chef Chaminda, his sous chef and their team cook is unbelievably good! We've visited Sri Lanka many times and thought the food at Villa Thamburu was amongst the best we've ever had. Chef and his team were also incredibly kind in accommodating my dietary requirements following a stomach infection. The rest of the staff, from the super helpful and efficient receptionists, to the wonderful bar man Janaka, and everyone else, were simply amazing. We loved every second of our stay, thought it was fantastic value, and have already reserved our rooms for next year. We can't recommend it highly enough!
