This is an absolutely lovely destination to kick back and relax. Everything from the lake leading up to the hotel, to the beach and pool facilities provided by the resort, is exactly as expected. The temperature-controlled pool is perfect for kids, with a depth of around 4ft. The beach is also clean and easily accessible. Although there are many planned activities, I do believe the staff could do a better job of encouraging guests to partake. While the food quality is good, it may be beneficial to cater to different nationalities based on the guests' preferences. All in all, the hotel is fantastic and definitely worth a stay.

Detailed review: First your details are matched on the other side of Island and after baggage screening you are taken to the resort by a boat. I have deducted 1 star for poor check In service. Even though after advance booking and payment, it took them 45min to check us in. The rooms were pretty well and luxurious. They had every facility from mini fridge to toiletries. Service was amazing. Had no issues during entire stay. The best thing about this Resort is the pool area. It's so huge you never feel crowded and just across the pool you have access to the beach. Towels are available at the pool area. Coming to the buffet (Dinner and breakfast): I had no issues, there were literally more than 70+ options from every continent of their guest list. Tables were always full so we had to wait. Staff is polite. Stay was good. Worth the money? (15-16k INR per Night), Maybe not.

One side of the hotel the river flows and on the other side it was the sea with a beautiful beach. Entire experience started with a boat ride from parking area to hotel. Beautiful location and garden. However, faced some issues with check in and the service at reception should definitely be improved. Got upgraded to a family room and it was well maintained and exceeded our expectations. Food was delicious even though the varieties at buffet was limited. Overall a great experience and highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing beach getaway with some exciting water sports.

We had a wonderful stay at Ceysands hotel in Bentota. The location is surrounded by Bentota Bay and the beach, which makes it unique. The full board price is reasonable as well. Among the things that can be improved, I would suggest increasing the number of staff in the buffet area so that guests are accommodated.

Stayed with friends for 1 night and it was one of the best hotel stays we had. Their service is superb and the staff is very friendly. The hotel is a bit old as the rooms are a little smaller compared to other 4-star hotels. A/C is not enough even in the coolest mode as we had to use fans to keep the room cold. The buffet was 10/10 and had many varieties of different meat items. The food was delicious and the staff keep closer attention to the buffet and refill the buffet items whenever necessary, unlike other hotels. (Keep up the good work guys).

The place was good than expected, but we didn't get the ferry service so was asked to use the other entrance. The rooms were spacious, only few amenities were available to use. Though they said we have set menus, we got a good buffet for all 3 meals. Only a few spread was available but it was so good ✨️ we enjoyed it. Thank you 😊

This hotel has the loveliest beach with very soft sand. Ideal for sea baths. Rooms can be better, especially the bed. Room was a bit smaller. Atmosphere is a bit loud and party-like. If you are into peace and quiet, this might not be the place. Water sports were great.

A wonderful resort located in an attractive location. The ocean and the river is on either side of the resort. The guests need to park the vehicles at the car park and get the ferry across the river to the resort. The guests can enjoy both ocean and sea activities during their stay. The resort is quite new and very well maintained. All three meals were buffet and even though the spread was less the food was of good quality. The rooms were clean and equipped properly. The staff were very friendly and provided a great service.

It was easy to go in the train. A small boat ride from the main entrance to the hotel. Nice staffs, a very limited range of food. The pool was big and clean. It would have been much better if there were more varieties of food. There were lockers in the changing room which was more easy for a day out package.

Staff are brilliant, so helpful and make sure you have a wonderful holiday. Rooms could improve, but comfortable and clean. Food was great as well. Perfect place for a family holiday, plenty of things to keep kids busy too.

Had a pleasant boat ride to hotel and was lovely place surrounded by the lagoon one side other sea. Extra effort was taken make sure Anniversary celebration made memorial by the deco and yummy cake!! Buffet spread sufficient catering Sri Lanka and western menu!! The was very helpful and great customer service by allowing us freely enjoy the place!! Had lovely holiday and recommended to anyone since full worth for money spend!!!

Really nice place to relaxing and enjoy the leisure with loved ones.. having large swimming area, beach area and situated between the sea and Bentota river.. you can use either bridge or boat to cross the river to enter the hotel. Spa service also available at the hotel premises. Rooms in good condition. Different kind of foods are available but not much delicious as them seen.. at the beach there is a play area too. There are several kids pools, large pool and pool bar is available at the swimming area.

We had a relaxing holiday here. Lots of Russian people! Some eating habits are not adapted. The beach was constantly disturbed by a loud flying object. Restaurant employees are often stressed. What we liked best was our cleaning man. He fulfilled our every wish. The room was very clean thanks to him! Thanks again Madushanka! The hotel can be proud of you!

Nice place to stay in Bentota with sea view and all amenities. I enjoyed my stay here, The rooms are slightly smaller than the usual ones I have stayed in so far. Good bar with live music and buffet at one of the restaurants. Food at the property is a bit on the higher side as compared to the restaurants near by, if one could step out and explore the town then they can find good food at affordable prices.

Delicious foods and buffet was at high level. Rooms were clean and all facilities were at higher level. Service is good after entering to the hotel, but need to improve the welcome where at the lounge at parking area. Seems low attentions for guest during higher crowd at that area. Overall experience is 5 star. Some peoples violated the pool common regulations, but not taken any action by the staff. They ignored to wear proper cloth and prior showering before enter to the pool

Had a good time with a new experience. A high level of hospitality and service. Have big pool which is awesome. With regard to food, super breakfast and average lunch and dinner with low veriaties. All in all a good hotel.

Such an amazing hotel. Very high standards, everything is available here, the food is amazing the rooms are spacious and clean, the view and the pool are spectacular. A bit on the higher side when it comes to price. But in general the hotel is WOW.

We stayed here for 7 nights during our visit to Sri Lanka. I’d definitely stay again lovely hotel staff go out their way to help. Nice food good breakfast. We booked the river safari trip with Lucky who’s located at the back gate near the beach. Friendliest young lad and made our boat tour very memorable taking nuts to feed the monkeys thank you Lucky. would have booked more trips but we’d already done a tour and done most the trips.

Excellent place for friends and family. The food was excellent and a spread for kids was also there separately. The rooms were super clean and comfortable. The pool was beyond the expectation,specially the pool bar. Staff was very friendly and did not hesitate to fullfil our needs during our stay. Would love to visit again.

We had quite a few problems with the hotel and reception. 1. Rooms drainage system is not good, water clogging issues. 2. Reception staff is incompetent and uncooperative. We had asked them for laundry and room cleaning, even after their acknodgement no one came for hours. We had to ourselves ask house keeping in the lobby to get our room cleaned. 3. We ordered food from outside and asked them to get the food in our room. They denied for even this. 4. Food is also tasteless. 5. Overall experience not so customer friendly, definitely not worth the money. 6. Very crowded hotel. Not enough space according to the number of people staying here. 7. They were displaying exchange rate for usd to lkr as 301.96 but when I changed it they gave me 297.7 saying it was yesterday's rate being displayed at 2pm in the afternoon.

We stayed here with our 4 year old for 2 weeks, it is such a beautiful location and as its off season, we practically had the place to ourselves! All staff were very helpful, and went the extra mile to help when our son was unwell for the day. Food variety was interesting and they did beautiful local dishes which we really enjoyed. The beach has a very attentive lifeguard on duty which gave us great piece of mind as the water was quite choppy, I hear its a lot calmer in season. Swimming pool was not crowded other than at weekends. Cant wait to go back.

This hotel is having superb sea view. Staffs are friendly and professional. Food quality is good. Rooms are spacious and Room services are nice. It also has well equipped fitness centre and large pool. The breakfast is just out of the world! The quality the variety everything was just perfect!! Rooms had Essential toiletries which is luxury at its best.

Lovely hotel with lots of facilities. We especially loved the kids play area as it kept our 2year old occupied. The pool and pool bar are excellent. Food was also quite nice. The sunset we experienced was like a scene from a movie! The beach was pristine and hardly had any people.

Spectacular hotel in every possible way. The hotel is very close to Aluthgama bus stand. The views are stunning and the hotel is very well maintained. Room is extremely clean and well stocked with all amenities. Staff are very friendly and always positive. Specially Ms. shanika at the front desk provide great service towards us. The beach and pool are well maintained and extremely clean. The food was just stunning. We stayed on FB basis and breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all very very good with a good spread of items all of which were tasty. If you are considering booking this hotel you 100% should, it will not disappoint.

Foods are very nice and it met our expectation. Dinner was superb as it was enriched with door varieties. Overall food quality is superb. Room quality was also very nice including the surrounding. But the service at the 1st reception are close to the carpark need to be improved. The welcome was not up to the standard.

Great Hotel. approached through the River by Boat with Sea view. Good Staff in attendance. Rooms were ready although we arrived early and we were upgraded to suits. Super large and clean pool and a nice beach with a life guard in attendance. Good and tasty meals with many action stations. We will come again.

The problem we had was at the check in. We had to pay 50% of the total before hand to get a room secured and we were prepared to pay the rest at check in. The person at front desk( I think his name was Milan; can't remember exactly) was constantly nagging that he doesn't see a 50% payment in system.If there was no payment done how come our names were in the system.He just wasted around 30 min of our time there asking proof from our side for payment. Finally my husband found the receipt received from our bank. This incident was really upsetting because he made us feel worried and low trying to show we have come without making payment and we lost our mood at the onset. The other problem was at the restaurant where all the waiters go behind the foreigners not caring locals and there was one person showing lots of attitude and he was just serving the foreigners next to our table but behaved as if we were not existing. Plus points the boat ride to the hotel is awesome , and food is also good but the buffet variety is not in par with the amount you pay.

We had a wonderful experience at Centara. We went on our holiday without having a very good idea about this hotel, and we were always pleasantly surprised by the good service starting from arrival. They were quick to change our rooms to ground floor rooms upon our special request. The rooms were clean, they had a nice beach area (I think it was a private beach), a clean large pool and specially very tasty food. The staff were friendly and helpful, they even provided us a complimentary birthday cake. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who's looking for a nice beach holiday.

Was an absolute joy staying at Centara Ceysands. Tucked away between the sea and the Bentara river and only accessible by a short boat ride the location was amazing. Service and the facilities were great too. Staff were really friendly. They serve buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with a huge selection. Well worth the money.

The hotel is beautifully located between the Bentara river and the ocean. Car park is on the other side of the river and the guests are escorted to the hotel in a boat which is a unique experience. Rooms were comfortable and clean, but the ocean is hardly visible from the room. Food was good and the restaurant has a nice view of the river. Swimming pool is very large, almost running the entire length of the hotel. Beach is right beside the hotel and there's a lifeguard as well. Staff was also friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the stay there.

The hotel is spread across a wide area and the pool is massive. Multiple room options are available and rooms are spacious as well. Buffet is available on most of the days and they also offer day packages. Staff is friendly and very supportive for customised requests which makes the place more attractive.

Best are breakfast & dinner. We were somwhat delayed for lunch, which night have a effect on food variation available. Swim pool was fine. There was mix of guests from local to foreign available. Very to stay for several days to enjoy, boat riding, fitness center, short trips to interested destinations.

It was very pleasant day for me and my friends , we enjoyed the beach and swimming pool facilities , we were especially impressed by the spa, it was most relaxing and invigorating experience, the 2.5 hrs of massage therapy was amazing. There is lot of activities for guests , we specially liked the speed boat ride at the end of our trip the lagoon is very beautiful and ride just before the sunset is breath taking. Next time need to stay at least 2 nights to enjoy all of the other activities available at the resort.
