The Nice location and Sea Breeze.. The location is nice and the garden is well maintained. They have two pools and both are good. The staff is very friendly and helpful too. The Bar serves good cocktails and the food in the bar is also good. I ordered a Tequila sunrise and a French fries the fries portion is huge and too much for me. The buffet is good and the food is served hot. Overall recommend it for a family vacation.

Nice location, but i have to say the prices for food is not reasonable. Eventhough we spend over 20k for lunch, they charged another 4000 for just for the pool. And we only stayed for 3hrs. Food is over priced for sure. I personally feels its been a ripped off. Also takes lot of time to serve food. Management should put attention on these things. What will happen is people wont come there again after they realise the experience. Remember customers come there for a value.

Location was superb. Very clam and quiet place. Value for your money. Buffet consists from lots of varieties and the food was excellent. It’s a safe place to have a sea bath. Nice and clean beach. Highly recommended for a person who’s looking to have a peaceful vacation. Staff was extremely good and they always wanted to ensure providing superb service to the guests.

Stayed 2 nights and service was excellent. Rooms are well cleaned. Food was really tasty. For the price we spent variety also okay. Nothing to compare. Had a memorable stay. This is our second visit. The hotel, beach and park are very beautiful. The staff is very friendly. The entire stay was comfortable. The hotel is really spacious and beautiful. They have two swimming pools. The beach is right in front of the hotel. Love the food and staff are friendly. We stayed here for one night recently and it was perfect. From the moment we came in the staff was attentive including the securities, valet service and front desk. We were assisted by the person named Jayantha throughout our stay and he made sure everything was smooth. Rooms were comfortable and cozy. Breakfast was excellent. Lunch and dinner mains could be improved as the variety was limited even though the hotel was fully booked that day. However, the staff at the restaurant was friendly and efficient. They did an excellent job. We were given complimentary cakes in our rooms as we had a special celebration and it was the tastiest in-room cake we received out of all the hotels!

Came for a spend the day and the hotel quoted us (34 people) a good package. The location is nice with access to the very lovey beach. The buffet spread can be better. Not many options for vegetarians. Understood that we are comparing with buffets before hyperinflation hit. The hotel staff was very friendly and arranged us a game coordinator to play some games.Had a good time in the pool. There were few indoor games available for those interested. However, the overall experience was very nice

Enjoyed the day out here with my colleagues. Friendly staff and really appreciate the supportiveness of them throughout our stay. Lunch buffet had a good variety. Apart from that they have two awesome swimming pools. I hope it'll be great to have more parking space. Received very high level of care from arrival to departure at their place. Received friendly service. There is a friendly staff. There is no problem with the food of little children. They provided them as we requested. They have two swimming pools which are well maintained. A perfect place to spend a vacation. I recommend this to you.

I've gone there with my family. The hotel provides a magical atmosphere. The breakfast offers both local cuisine (that I recommend a lot!) and international good. Location of the restaurant is amazing, offering pool and sea views. I used to wake up earlier to get there before my family to enjoy this magical experience. The room with much space, comfortable bed and bathroom too.

We went for a day out package here. So i dont know about the interior of the rooms. But the Hotel ambiance is so beautiful. Good place to Relax. Have two big pools & a beautiful beach behind the Hotel. Had Lunch in Buffet. It would be better if they make more variety of main course. Deserts are really good. Staff are really friendly & kind. We travelled by Train, this hotel situated next to the Bentota Railway station, & I should appreciate the Hotel management for maintaining the Bentota Railway station & the Public park near the Hotel.

The experience was overall awesome. The hotel sits directly at the beach with access to water activities which, surprisingly, are cheaper that outside the hotel. The food buffet offers decent choices from live pasta or BBQ stations although the a la carte restaurants could offer a wider menu. The room were so comfortable with all the amenities you would expect from a five star hotel. There are two pools that have crystal clear and warm water. Towels are provided by the hotel so no need to bring your own. They also have a billiard room and gym.

I booked this place after reading through many google reviews. The property is well maintained. We checked in late and wanted to eat dinner outside but all places were closed. We contacted the reception to check if the restaurant was open and they mentioned they can bring food from the room service menu. We called up room service and placed an order only to wait for 30 minutes and after a staff member came to our room to ask what our order was. Looked like what we ordered from their room service menu was never available and they failed to communicate this with us immediately. And when I went to the reception after this, hungry and frustrated, the receptionist didn’t even have the basic courtesy to offer something from their end as a compensation for the entire mess up. He gave a sarcastic apology and said he’ll send whatever they had. We even tried to make tea for ourselves but the kettle given in the room had rusted. The towels were dirty and stained. The room’s lock was damaged and coming out part by part. Our keycard was not working. When we asked the receptionist to move us to a different room as we were not feeling safe, they couldn’t even do that and just left it at that saying “the lock is fixed” when it clearly wasn’t. The least you can expect from a star rated property is a compensation or a free meal, when a mess like this happens. Instead they were only rude and sarcastic and treated us like we were staying there for free. Good place, needs better staff to treat people better.

Peaceful hotel with one of the best beaches available. The sand is soft and the waves aren't too rough. The food was sub-par very limited varieties and whatever was available wasn't even tasty. First time I saw a star class hotel only provide cheese slices at a buffet that too only for breakfast. If you love the beach and that's your main priority visit. If you're a foodie avoid at all costs

A huge thank you to the hopper aunty for making us the most incredible hoppers which we could not stop ordering, and Sinthumini who treated us to such delightful omelettes every morning. Every single one of the breakfast staff from the managers to the waiters are a true asset to the hotel, and show us that hospitality is second to none here. We cannot wait for our next visit, and are so appreciative of the warmth, culture, good food and comfort we experienced throughout our time :)

Nice place with exot to the public beach. But there are no many people on the beach. There are two pools on the territory with warm water (warmed by sun😁). Food is great. So I would recommend to buy tours with included breakfasts and dinners. Because in the evening it's not easy to find good place near the hotel. On the beach side of houtel you can find surfing lessons, fresh fruits and good taxi and tours service (find Nishantha Putha taxi and tours😉)

We stayed in Avani for 10 days and we loooved everything there. The food was perfect, the staff was very kind with good English. The beach is very wide and clean. When we were coming home late after the excursion, the chef kindly agreed to serve us with the late dinner at 11pm ( they cooked the special meals for us). When we asked to help peel and cut the fruit we bought on the market, the hotel service was always there to help:) Also, the train station is just 2 min from the hotel, so we could travel by train to Galle and other cities. We definitely recommend Avani Bentota 🙂

We loved our stay here, great beach location, super swimming pool (plus another smaller one), well cleaned and maintained rooms and good quality food. Favourite part of the buffets was the chef cooking hoppers at breakfast (although wasn't present every morning). Would've liked a bit more variety with the Sri Lankan dinner options, veg option almost always the same dhal. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially the cleaners, bar staff and pool attendants, who were all very attentive and looked to go the extra mile (like making off menu drinks or towel and flower decorations on the beds). The railway station is next to the station and so the trains were noticeable, earplugs fixed this for me but the first train is around 6am and the horn and rumble on the tracks definitely woke us up on the first night. Make sure to check out the Breeze and Loft bars, the former is great for drinks by the pool and latter for sunset views. Other restaurants are walkable, a good few by the train tracks are 5 mins away. It did get irritating being hassled by people trying to sell tours (like river safaris, in my opinion these should be avoided as often have captive crocodiles for a photo opportunity...) by the majority of hotel exits to the beach, and even pestered while we were on loungers by the pool, the hotel security staff could definitely do more. Overall we had a super relaxing stay here, one of the highest quality hotels we stayed in while visiting Sri Lanka.

I really have mixed emotions about this place. The overall resort is an amazing place. Nevertheless, the staff who are super friendly and caring. However, there are multiple things that would definitely make the experience better. Rooms need some renovation. In our stay, we had to change three rooms as one of them had a very strong humidity smell. The other one, the wooden bars behind the bed, were infected, so you can see small bugs on bed. The third thing is their bed sheets and towels have some old stains. As we had to change from one room to another to find something comfortable after a long ride to Bentota. We were only staying for a couple of nights. The management was serious about considering our comments and compensating us. They did offer us a nice dinner and surprise birthday celebration, which was sweet. Another important note about the rooms is that you do hear the train sound very clear. If you are a light sleeper, that can be an issue. In all three rooms we changed we heard the train in different times. The staff is amazing. They help and respond quickly, considering how big the place is, but they still respond within minutes. Our package included half board (breakfast and dinner) they were good. A good variety of international and local items. They have a couple of nice pools and a gym..there is beach access but weirdly enough you cannot take the hotel towels to beach area which doesn't make sense at all. I assume it is a public beach as it gets full of locals around sunset time. I hope the management takes into consideration the comments we discussed while meeting with them.

Excellent hotel to wind down in after 10 days of touring around this beautiful country! Facilities, staff and location all perfect. Only negative is it is very near the train line and you hear and feel the rumble of every passing train but this might not be the same for every room.

This was the first time we came to Srilanka. We stayed at Thaala Bentota resort for 11 night and it was amazing! Bentota ocean view is really excellent! Me and my wife liked the location. Special thanks to the staff . They were very friendly and attentive. Definitely we would come back in 2024 or later!

We stayed one night in Thaala Bentota. A nice property with friendly staff and spacious bedroom. Good beach access, plenty of loungers by the pool and not too busy. However, it's not a top-end 4 star, needs some updating with the bedroom smelling a bit musty, worn furniture and the lounger cushions were damp and mouldy (the ones we used anyway). It just felt a bit tired. With a bit of updating, it would be a great hotel. Was fine for us for one night but lack a bit of shine for a 4 star.

One of the best of the best hotels I've ever been to I would like to mention the loveliest staff we met everyone was like family and I have no words to explain the hospitality they gave towards us. Thanks to the wonderful staff there it felt very comfortable... Delicious food and the comfy atmosphere.. it's too worth visiting Avani.

Avani Bentota has always been one of my favourites with a great beach location, beautiful landscaping, chilled out resort feel, great poolside bar & kitchen and warm hospitable service by staff like Ruwantha & Chef Kirti at the poolside bar and kitchen, Pool Attendant Ajith and poolside serving attendant Udaya.

Very bad experience with this hotel. Rooms and the surroundings of the hotel are very nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and active. The food is not the best. The main meal and starters have no much variety. The soups were great. But the main course had no curries to eat with. Giving five stars for desserts. Some of the rooms had wet floors. This seemed to be an issue with the air conditioner. The TV in our room didn’t work. When informed, the technicians came and took about 3 hours to fix being in our room.

We come here end of April/May for a weeks trip and really enjoyed ourself. The hotel was a great location and the staff were super friendly. The pool area is well maintained and the staff all around just made the experience even better. Being so close to beach is also adds to positive values of the place. Had a good experience there. The staff is really nice and polite. Food is good. Only concern is the bathroom. The toilet in our room was not flushing properly. Had to flush 2 three times and was really had to maintain the floor dry as the floor level was uneven and water won’t drain properly.

We were very impressed with Thaala Bentota. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the hotel in general had a pleasing holiday ambiance. We stayed for 3 days and all our buffet meals included a wide selection and were consistently delicious. I especially loved the lobsters and crabs! The staff were helpful and prompt. Thaala had thought of little details - for example they had racks to dry swimwear and water goblets near the beach entrances to wash away sand. We will definitely re-visit!

Am really disappointed with regards to service provided.Because we were waited for room allocation more then 4 hours . Our check in time 12.00 noon but we have got our room around 4.00pm but they were requested us check out should be sharp 12.00 . They didn’t compensate 4 hour delay . Also towels are not cleaned towels which they provide with lot of makeup stains. That is so disgusting.
