Great restaurant in Bentota with excellent service and tasty local cuisine. The Sri Lankan curry and rice was excellent! Would definitely come back.

We arrived early at 7 am, way early than check-in time, and was upgraded to an available triple room for free. The staff is really courteous, probably the off season is the best time to visit. They bandaged my scratched knee in few minutes. Rooms are huge. We stayed in 101. Bathrooms are big, the shower needs a bit of work and is a bit slow. No Wifi in rooms but the one in lobby is strong. Pool is open from morning till night. Beach area is perfect for relaxing. Breakfast is grand - bacon, sausages, eggs, cheese, fruits, juice, bread tea. Don't miss it. Train lines runs through the resort. Beautiful view.

We were looking for a good place to have a wholesome Srilankan meal on day 1 of our trip. Happy Garden happened to be very close from our stay so we headed here. Ordered one veg rice and Curry and egg curry. And Rice and curry comes with more side dishes. Dal and the salad with fried lady's finger was just yummy. Also you served some fresh fruits after the main course. Veg Rice and Curry was for 800 LKR, which seems lit extra after having meals at other places but for the taste and service I can just let go some extra money. Recommendable place. :)

I tried prawns devil (Rs.1200). It wasn't my taste. Prawns itself were tasty but the taste of sauce was too strong and it kills the taste of vegetables and prawns. It was more like Chinese dish but it's ok. I don't know what devil like. I can't compare with the other devil because this was my first time to try devil. I'll order another food next time! Friendly service. Reasonable price. No alcohol. You can ask the level of spicy. Restran is located next to the railway track but the sound of train wasn't big problem to me.

Beautiful place to stay by the beach. It's awesome to walk around the beach during sunset. Shallow waters are good to play with. However food is not so good especially if you are from Srilanka or india, unless you are ready to try something bizarre...

An hour drive from here to hikkaduwa where coral watching and snorkeling was there. Excellent beach views on the way to hikkaduwa. Lot of river water sports available near wunderbar in bentota

This hotel is built just on the beach. The food was good. We had crab tandoori with noodles, and also French fries. Also there is a railway line that passes through the property. It also has rooms to stay, if on a vacation. It was a gud experience here.

We had the sri lankan rice and curry. It was delicious and had so much flavor. It also included side dishes we had never tried before. The owners were delightful and showed us a booklet of the different ingredients used for the side dishes. Best rice and curry I have had in Sri Lanka !

We went to eat here after a long day in Bentota and ordered traditional Sri Lankan food. The food was delicious and for 1800 LKR we got served a huge meal with a variety of typical dishes! The waiter was a gentle young man who was very interested in us and we had a great talk about our plans for the vacation. Cosy lunch/dinner spot next to the train track. Price was reasonable for the portion given (but note that the additional side of chicken curry was a little small for 400LKR). We ordered the devilled fish (950LKR) (which taste like the Chinese sweet and sour fried fish) and the Sri Lankan Curry with a side of chicken curry (1250LKR). Both tasty. There’s no service charge. In our opinion, the base Sri Lankan Curry was the most worth and sufficient for two persons for a light dinner.

This family run restaurant is a must visit, providing freshly cooked food at a very reasonable price. We have just returned from a two week holiday in Bentota Sri Lanka and although we visited other restaurants during our stay we always seemed to return to the Happy Gardens. The fresh grilled fish was one of our highlights as was their home made curry's, the family are so friendly and they made our evenings so enjoyable.

Stumbled upon this gem on our first night in Sri Lanka. What a lovely place and great food. The owner was very friendly and accommodating and she even had her son walk us back to our accommodation with umbrellas during a very heavy downpour. Definitely worth a visit.
