Yesterday night we had a wonderful dinner out in Islanda Bentota. They recently opened their restaurant for foreign and local customers to provide an excellent experience. We are happy about their professional service. All the staff members were friendly and decent in communication. Foods and beverages were delicious and value for money. And they had the flexibility to customize the function as well. The interior facilities and exterior facilities are elegant and well arranged. Hope you will keep these standards in the future too. Awesome location, right next to a lotus pond with hundreds of pink lotuses blooming. Awesome ambience: Has both indoor & open garden seating. The food was also good. Though the restaurants promote themselves as a seafood restaurant, they have good vegetarian options also & are very flexible to adapt their dishes to vegan ones.

The place fine and the meals also tasty. The staff are very friendly. We bought crab soup which was delicious. Some time the place will be crowded.

Best food in Bentota! A must visit for both foreigners and locals alike if you are a foodie. Ample parking and they accept credit cards as well. Serves beer and wine.

It has a nice atmosphere at night. Located next to a pond and outdoor area is ideal for a relaxing time. The food was great and the presentation was good. The staff was helpful when deciding on a dish. Overall experience was great.

The best food not only in this town but in all Shri Lanka! I highly recommend trying grilled shrimp! They are prepared with a special author's sauce. The pasta is also incredible! Nice and clean restuarant. Price is very high end. Service is excellent. The reason we came here coz we saw in google map, the menu has reasonable price for grill seafood. But it is old price! new menu has updated to "Fresh Price". Which is even higher than 5 stars Hotel. Grill food is professional, but the black sauce that they put on top is too salty. If you want to have grill seafood here prepare to pay 10,000+/ pax

Nice choice of meals. Gordon blue is big and good taste. Curry good. Nasi goreng not so special. They served old papadum, but replaced it when we complained. Nice atmosphere!

word cannot describe the lunch we had today. simply amazing, from the great atmosphere to the refreshing fresh juices and the amazing cooking, it’s safe to say this has been the best lunch i’ve had so far during my stay in Bentota! Totally worth it to visit this restaurant, the sea food platter was the best so was their other dishes! ps the quality and cleanliness of the restaurant was superb.

We recently chose the Islanda to share a family dinner... in retrospect we should have asked for and listened to other opinions. The surroundings were nice (we sat outside) but the mosquitos were hungry. The menu food choice was ok but very expensive for the area where there are nicer, tastier, fresher, and better priced options available. We have been eating at restaurants in the area for more than 20 years and see them come and go. Unless the Islanda do some serious work on their pricing it unfortunately will not be around for long.

Perfect Grilled fish - surprisingly hard to find in Sri Lana. Islanda got it 100% right. Everything else also delicious. service great.

Had lunch here, 8 Jumbo Prawns, a Salad and Garlic rice was 5k, It was very tasty and portions are very good. Very Decently priced, and great atmosphere.

We went there 2 times. The first time the food was delicious but they were some locals drinking in the restaurant, and the owner gave us a table in a building under construction without any light. We had to eat using the flashlight of my phone whine there were plenty of empty tables in the restaurant. The second time we went they told us that they were only serving food to locals. I give it 2 stars because the fish we ate was very good but the way they treated us was really bad.

We have been in Sri Lanka for 7 weeks and we wanted to close off with a great dinner on the last night at Islanda Bentota, due to the great reviews. Prices are highest we ever paid, but unfortunately the quality was not a like. We ordered “grilled” lobster for LKR 10.000, which was served raw and we had to send it back (bit of a shame for “best seafood restaurant”) It was “re-worked” (microwave/oven?) and when it came back our kids were already finished their plates. Bit of a shame for last dinner of our travels. I did share my feedback to the manager and she was so kind to give at least a discount (although I would have preferred a great dinner). I believe they just re-opened, so I hope they will learn and adjust and find better value for money set-up for this restaurant to thrive.

Great place with great ambiance. We celebrate a birthday there. They arranged a nice place for us. Really nice at evening time. Food was great. Try this place if you visit bentota. Highly recommend it.

Quite a disappointment. We wanted to have some good seafood for birthday celebration. Then we googled this one that near our hotel. When we sit down, we asked if they have fresh lobster while they shown us two, not the alive one, most likely dead not long ago. We picked one around Rs8000 something- Then we asked how they will cook with it. The staff said they would grill it first then cook a bit more with the Butter Garlic sauce, that’s ok. We have also ordered like around 300gram grilled mullet as we cannot finish the whole fish. When both dishes served, we only see a boiled lobster covered with some sauce, with that color, I don’t think it’s butter garlic. While the grilled fish, its also just some sauteed fish chunk, not even grilled, or fried. Just boil and covered the same sauce. We started eating anyway, I can tell, those sauce is FREAKING SALTY. Like Im drinking the seawater! For sure we can make a fuss, but we just want to have a good night, have a peaceful dinner. We ate them all, while just wanna share the comment with one of the staff. He insisted those are grilled and didn’t say anything at all while we told him the sauce is freaking salty. Not to mention, the lobster is not fresh at all that you can tell from the meat texture. You guys can also see from the pictures, that shell, I really don’t see anything grilled. To be honest, Im not a tourist, I have been living in Sri Lanka for almost 5 years now. We have tried several seafood restaurants from Negombo, to Hikkaduwa. This one is the worst so far. Food 2/5, at least I have some good fries. Environment, 3/5, while I don’t know why there’s a guy insisted singing in front of us TWICE and trying to sell his CD while my boyfriend already told him not to in Sinhala. We understand life is difficult now, I mean after you have sung once, we gave a bit of money. You don’t need to come back again to sing and trying to sell the CD.

Yesterday night we went for dinner to Islanda Seafood Restaurant and it's a fabulous restaurant one of its kind. If you are a seafood lover, it's the place for you. Nice atmosphere. Overall all the dishes were super tasty and the Mixed Grill is the speciality. The quality of food, the ambience and the services makes you feel so special. Definitely value for money. The food was amazingly good, the staff super nice and a cozy atmosphere with mixed with tourist and local people. Among other things, we ordered a grilled tuna that was perfectly cooked with a good salad and rice. Tried their dessert which was a fried banana and pineapple, so good. We highly recommend!
