Easily one of my favorite places to visit in LA. I first visited back when I was in high school, but being that was almost 20 years ago there was a lot I forgot. Not only is there a ton of history with the estate and owners, but the grounds alone are worth the visit. They are really beautiful and are crisscrossed with many walking paths that go around both sides of the estate. The mansion was closed during our visit due to COVID protocols, but we were able to see all around the exterior. There is a rose garden near the entrance but since they are out of season there are better times to view that part. I love this part of LA so visiting the area is a pleasure and parking is easy so getting in and out is a breeze. Make sure to make reservations online prior to visiting. I plan to visit again as soon as the interior tours are open again.

There is no admission charge or parking fee to visit the mansion grounds thereby making it cheapskate friendly. Unless you are an aficionado of gardens or mansions, it is not a destination onto itself, but it is an easy add-on to your visit to Beverly Hills. Entry inside the mansion itself happens only one weekend each month for a modest fee, so plan accordingly. Touring the grounds involves steep and long stair climbing and will challenge those with mobility issues.

Plenty of free parking. It's free to go and walk around. Take pictures around here! You won't be disappointed with what you can come up with when taking pictures around this area. Also there used to be a pool but looks like they sealed it. Beautiful place to enjoy the scenery.

Free and amazing destination to stop by and check out. The first time around you can take picture and really get caught up in how picture perfect this place is. But I highly recommend to just walk around and clear your head. I don't know of many mansions you can just walk around and hang out at. You really feel as if you were transported to a European mansion with so many beautiful views. I thought I would stop by real quick but spent a few hours here. Pro tips. There is a lot of free parking. professional pictures for weddings etc.. are by permit only. They do indeed have police rangers driving and walking around. The mansion is really bigger then it looks and they don't really have any areas off limits. Looking for an open house walk through of the inside? They do offer this once a year. You will definitely see signs and it looks with the $25 charge.

Tucked away in the Beverly Hills, overlooking a sweeping view of LA stands the Greystone Mansion. Stunningly beautiful grounds and gardens. Feels like an authentic old European chateau complete with doorways sized for horse-drawn carriages. Owned and maintained by the city of Beverly Hills, so these grounds are free and open to the public to wander and enjoy

Beautiful and quaint park in an upscale and quiet area. Plenty of free parking. I saw a couple of photo session happening, it’s gotta be a gorgeous spot for those, especially at sunset. You don’t need more than an hour to walk the grounds. The mansion itself was closed for a private event in my visit.

This mansion is gorgeous and it was the most expensive mansion in California when it was built in the 1920s. It's currently owned by the Beverly Hills city government and is open for public visit on Wed to Fri and select weekend dates. Reservation is required in advance but admission is free. This is the filming location for some famous movies such as Spider Man and Gilmore Girls. I believe this place is open for wedding/event rentals as well, and I'd say this is one of the more affordable event venue in LA.

This is a beautiful place and it's great for family with kids. The mansion spans 46,000 sqft on a 6.5 ha land. You can easily get lost if you do not follow signs there. It has many sections with different gardens. The most famous is the cypress walk and the grand stairs where many movies were made. It's free for public access and free for non-professional photos. Park rangers are ACTIVELY patron the entire estate to make sure everything is in order all the times. Plenty of parking space and they do have multiple public restrooms in the facility. Not sure about handicap friendly or not since there are many stairs.

The Greystone Mansion & Gardens is beautiful, a nice little escape from the city. Drive up the hill and don't worry, there's plenty of parking! We visited in mid-October, the mansion wasn't open, BUT the gardens themselves are plenty to explore. You can spend about an hour here and take lots of nice photos. Definitely a great spot for some photo sessions. There are public restrooms, they're sort of hidden away in the mansion lol but still accessible. There is a nice balcony area where you can get a fantastic view of the city below. Only taking off one star because I wish there were some benches set up and I saw maybe like 2 trash cans. Beautiful place to come to relax and have a picnic if you want, but I recommend holding on to/collecting your trash until you find a 🗑️ can. Not a big deal but just a little inconvenient.

This amazing 55,000 square foot mansion with its iconic and beautiful gardens is a Beverly Hills icon. There are sweeping views of the city from many terraces and gardens. There is plenty of free parking at the entrance. I would recommend trying to book a private tour so that you can see the entire mansion. Self guided tours only allow you access to the first floor of the mansion and the theater. Be sure to watch the informational video in the theater to learn the history behind this amazing estate and the family that built it, then later gifted it to the city.

The Greystone Mansion is a beautiful property, not only breathtaking views and gardens, but amazing architecture. Named Beverly Hills historic landmark #4 the Donhey estate has been in many movie’s, music videos, photos shoots, concerts and a gorgeous place for a wedding venue. There was a wedding setting up on this particular Saturday, and unfortunately we were unable to gain access to certain areas of the grounds while the wedding party took photos. The mansion is still not open for tours at this time, getting to see the inside would definitely make this a 5 star experience.

Beautiful little garden to wander, even if the mansion isn't open. Definitely recommend getting there around opening time, as it'll be much more peaceful. Big parking lot, no entry fee for the gardens. Must see if you're into beautiful gardens and architecture in the English revival style! We didn't go into the mansion and it was well worth the moment of quiet, beautiful views, and photo ops.

Couldn't go inside the castle unless it's on specific dates pre set but in all the gardens are pretty and the views are as well. Would recommend The castle is not the house you see on the right when you pull up. You must go through the gardens first. I recommend tennis shoes

Registration and Reservation is required via the City of Beverly Hills recreation site for dates within 5 days or so. Each slot is limited to 25 people. Feels safe and relaxing to take photos and walk around. Restrooms are clean and available. It's a hidden gem 💎!

I have planned oodles of fabulous weddings, charity events, corporate parties N d private soiroiees at the mansion. I work there’s so much they recruited my son to be a park ranger. I know the property inside and out. I’m in love with the details. I know where to get the best photographs and many of the secret tales.

::Review of the grounds:: This property is soaked with history and views that can easily fill a couple hours of outdoor fun. There are few signs detailing the property’s storied history so make sure you read-up a bit beforehand; though, even without any knowledge one should be able to enjoy this place. Also, wear comfortable shoes (it’s on a hill).

Surprising by its location and size, more UK or East Coast than LA, great elevated view of surroundings looking South, parts of it can be booked for private events.

Great historical landmark. A perfect example of the golden age of Beverly Hills mansions. Interior of the mansion is open to the public currently for only 4 days this year. It's a famous location for countless movies and TV shows. Including Spiderman (2001), Rush Hour (1998), The Prestige (2006), Ghostbusters (1984) and many many more. The grounds are nicely kept and you can walk around them for free.

Great place for a self paced adventure. Amazing views and cool history including scenes from Rush Hour and Aviator filmed there. Beautiful landscaping and architecture. Park rangers very polite and informative. Would give five stars if able to visit interior of house. Worth the visit...it's free!

Excellent place to go and relax for free. I went on a Monday afternoon and there were only half dozen visitors there, so with the 18 acres of property it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The mansion grounds are beautiful and serene with breathtaking views of the ocean and city. There’s lots of shade and plenty of park benches to rest on and enjoy it all. You can even peek through the windows into the gorgeous mansion and imagine what it is like to live in opulence. I’m planning on spending $20 to go on a tour and movie night they hold regularly. Even the Holiday festivities look fun and involve getting into the mansion for 90 minutes to see Christmas decorations, arts activities , storytelling— all for only $7. Reservations required for both events. The only downside was that of the dozens of water fountains, coy ponds and man made streams, only a couple of them were working and contained water. I’ve attached lists of numerous movies and TV shows that were filmed there, at least according to flyers posted on the small bulletin board in the parking lot. In summary, you’ll enjoy this place so bring your family and friends.

We (BELLA VITA EVENTS - EVENT PLANNERS) got the chance to work at the Greystone Mansion around 6 months ago. As we reflect on our year, what an amazing experience we had there! We worked closely with Sara, the venue representative, and she is a nugget with: 1) her knowledge of the history of the property, 2) mixed with her determination to protect the estate's legacy, 3) while providing the best experience to the client. We coordinated an Old-Hollywood-&-Chic-European-inspired Wedding there, and it was enchanting. The Cocktail Hour unfolded on the mansion's terrace, overviewing the city, and the Dinner Reception took place in the picturesque courtyard, around the fountain, surrounded by beautiful stone facades & lush gardens. Thanks to our experience & our clients' vision, we were able to make their vision come to life. Ultimately, we jointly created an unforgettable celebration of love at the Mansion's timeless beauty. Definitely recommend! - BELLA VITA EVENTS

They do self guided tours on the first Sunday of each month. I wish they had more information about this on their website. Overall beautiful house and amazing grounds. So much to see. If you plan on taking the tour and walking around everything to take pictures, plan on about 2-3 hours at least. Amazing trip, highly recommend.

Love this place. Been coming here for 9 years as my little getaway. It has become more popular over the years and more visitors have also discovered it. Still a great place to visit. On my last visit a parent was not watching her son and he was running around in the bushes pulling up some plants as the mother ignored him. Really sad point in my visit.

Should visit this place. Very calm and peaceful. Hostoric site for many TV shows and movies. Very beautiful inside and great view from the house. Glad that I decided to visit this place. Inside of the house is closed and I guess it only opens for the filming or so.

This is one of those places where it's hard to take a bad picture. You've got the architecture, the surrounding nature, and then the view of LA wrapped up all in one. The symmetry is what I loved the most while photographing a wedding here recently. The light finds itself in lots of interesting ways, dappled on walls, streaming through the trees. It reminded me of Ravelo, Italy with the long tree lined walkway and stone steps. Definitely one of my favorite venues in all of Los Angeles. I've photographed most of the venues now and this one's at the top. Highly recommend.

This is a gem in the heart of the city of Beverly Hills with the garden very well maintained. Though it’s mot as big as Huntington Library in Pasadena. But it is free and one can easily park your car and freely stroll around. They even have lessons and classes about how to plant trees and shrubs in your backyard that is suitable for southern California weather.

It was raining and winter so I gave this place only three stars. We were only allowed to walk around the garden outside the house. It is free and a little interest. You can put this site as a small attraction to fill up the time. I believe it will be beautiful when spring so visit then. After all, not bad, the third priority to visit.

It's a nice mansion in Beverly Hills that otherwise would be overlooked. I would have appreciated it if we could see inside the buildings. The gardens and exterior could also see a little more grooming.

Cool spot to check out. Featured in many many MANY movies and shows and other events. Parking was free and so was entrance to the grounds to wonder around and look at stuff. Very ornate and well kept place, definitely somewhere to come and look around if you have time

Amazing place to visit. Unfortunately it's was pandemic time's so for us it was a really quick in and out visit. Amazing place to pass the time and I think you can have your wedding there. We over heard a conversation about plans for a private event. Highly recommend but make sure you make an appointment before you visit

Incredibly beautiful and immaculate garden worth seeing. The mansion is open for tour, but you have to check with the city/park service website on when it is available. I believe it is open for tour once a month, but please check. The history of this place and the family that built it is fascinating.

Free to walk the grounds. Very peaceful nice place to walk. Nice garden but not worth a visit for the gardens alone. The security guards were shutting down some people for taking photos if they thought they were influencers- odd and kinda funny. so be aware of that. Nice clean bathrooms, with a baby changing table.

I was Racially profiled and targeted amongst others during my visit. I had called the park in advance to ask if it was ok to take pictures since I read on the website you’d need a license if you’re taking professional pictures( with a camera, wedding shoots etc) which I didn’t have. I came to visit the park and take pictures like everyone else. They told me it was fine. Just to get there to visit the park and ofc take pictures on my phone. This park ranger C Ferroto kept following us around claiming he got a call that influencers were taking pictures. He said only tourists can take pictures and I explained that we called in advance and we’re told it was fine and everyone else was taking pictures on their phones but he didn’t harass or address any of them. I wonder if he was expecting Me to dress drably to visit the park 😂. He even went further to say he’s giving me a grace of 30 minutes to finish and leave the park 😨. How dare he try to kick us out of a public space?! 😂 My sister and I gave him the heat he was looking for till another officer came and was saying oh maybe there was a miscommunication blah blah blah and they left us alone. The park was just there tbh it’s cool for pics if you don’t get harassed for it but other than that nothing more unless you care for the history of the buildings. I won’t go back lol they really tried it

Pretty cool mansion! Free to get in, plenty of parking, no pets allowed. You can walk around the entire property. Signs say you must get a permit to take pictures but they don't enforce it. I think the permit is for filming tv or movies.

Beautiful place to walk around. Lots of paths and roundabouts. Loved the garden and the koi pond. We did not get to see the inside because it is only open on the first weekend of the month. I would like to go back. Interesting history and tragic story of the owner.

Find this place for it's grand residence, the peace, and the view. During COVID-19 the interior is closed. If you are a Big Lebowski fan, you will love it, but the pool scene where The Dude meets Bunny, was shot somewhere else.
