A nice park surrounding the Battle of Batina memorial museum. One of the biggest battles of WWII took place here. In November 1944 the Yugoslav Communist Army joined forces with the Red Army and crossed the Danube, fighting against the Nazis. Remember this bloody episode in history while enjoying the wonderful landscape of the Danube. A lot of our ancestors lost their lives here, fighting for freedom - for themselves then, for us today. Respect.

Although WW2 memorials are not really popular any more, Batina is kept in a surprisingly good condition. It has a lot of army memorabilia on the display and the view from top of the museum is amazing.

Nice view if you got on top of the building. You can also see across the river Croatian rooftops which are nice. You can see flow of the battle from 11th till 29th of November 1944 year with a display of weapons, uniforms, flags, decorations and personal items of the commander and fighters. Outside you can see other monuments

Great museum of one of the biggest (if not the biggest) battle in world war 2 in Yugoslavia. Sadly this battle is almost fogotten. On Serbian side is museum and it is open. Entrace fee is cheap 150 DIN for geown ups, 100 DIN for children. It worth visiting. If you are thre then you hane to visit monument on the Croatian side. Museum there is closed, but view from the hill is just dreamy.

Place is a bit neglected, but the museum custodian, Martina, is doing a wonderful job in maintaining the place with the minimum funding available. The set of artifacts and photo footage is in good condition and reminds us all of this both great and sad part of our history.

I enjoy visiting old memorials from SFRJ, architecture is amazing, futuristic but somehow always incorporated into the environment. This part of history is neglected and hated by the modern states of Balkans and it shows in the state of its monuments.

👍👍 Bardzo przyjazne, ciepłe miejsce, gdzie w przemiły sposób można obejrzeć niezliczoną ilość sprzętów z różnych epok. W tym kilka naprawdę ciekawych. Właściciele przemili a chęcią opowiadają i prezentują swe zbiory. Dzięki wnuczce Jelenie nie ma problemu z tłumaczeniem na angielski (dzięki Jelena!). M...
